Man if I had the money I would buy and remodel that whole track and bring whatever highest series I could in and see what the crowds like for a year or two such a fun track to race at and beautiful scenery

1985 was the best performance TPI 305 offered due to having the similar cam put into the 5.7 TPI engine.

We just bought the 4 seater for my kids (14yr old, 12 yr old, and 10 yr old). Have you had any frustrations with this unit other than the speed (I'm kindof happy it tops out around that 30mph mark since my kid will roll around in it). Would love your thoughts on how your family as enjoyed it and what to look out for and stay on top of in terms of maintenance and service. Looks like a really fun cart! My grandpa was in this race. Is car number could be 25 Or 94. He was in 3rd Place. But he got kicked out For a Illegal engine.

The 85 was the year to get. The following year they changed the cam and the car lost power forever for the TPI.

Where did you get the lightbar extension harness? we have the 4 seater and ordered the lightbar. There is no way to connect the bar to the body harness.

This video gave me such nostalgia. I was 8/9 when this video was done and my family used to go to McKinley all the time for Christmas shopping. That’s exactly how I remember the mall. The food court was amazing and I felt like they had something for everyone back then. I miss being that age and the excitement we all got from planning out a day at this mall. I watch this video all the time just to see what it was like back then. I really think the time I grew up was the absolute best. The mall was such a special place. Always something exciting going on when we would be there. It was just a great place that I have so many fond memories of McKinley. I wish malls were still thriving today. Crazy to think that in another decade there might not be any left

I grew up during the 1970’s going to that track. 3/4 full grandstands. Big fields of cars and tons of fun for families! The days of Art Clark, Dick Flag, Ron Williams, Gail Barber and Leon Szweda running almost every week. Then at the end of the night the fans could walk on the track and over to the pits to talk to their favorite drivers and have a blast. One big family party. The engines were mostly home built and they helped each other to make sure they could make it out there for the feature if something went wrong. Total teamwork. Oh, by the way… In those days they used the big track for the figure 8 races. They would be cross that intersection at 55 miles an hour!!

I couldn’t stand Earnhardt, never had a good thing to say about him ever! But when he passed and all the information about how much he helped other racers that were broke. How truly a nice guy he was, I couldn’t help but love the man. And I’m proud now to tell everyone that I grew up just down the road from Dale Earnhardt in Cooleemee N.C.

Was privileged to see him race at Darlington. Being a California boy. Cherish that.
