ERTUGRUL GHAZI & KURULUS - Hüzün (Ney / Nay Cover)
Recently, I came across a Turkish Drama Series called Dirilis Ertugrul. Boy did I enjoy the musical themes featured in the show!
So, upon the request of my twin brother, I've crafted my own rendition of the musical piece titled Hüzün. It was quite tough decyphering all the notes, especially the solo section. It was quite challenging, but luckily I made it!

Dukah Ney can be a good start for you. After you master it, you can move to longer Neys like Rast (Yildiz)

If you can produce the sound consistently, then it's just a matter of practice. Focus on the position that allows you to get the sound and repeat it until it becomes second nature

Thanks for this. I've had a ney for ages and have never been able to get a sound out of it despite watching hours of tutorials. Are plastic neys not as reliable as other material?
Plastic Neys are good too, especially if you travel a lot
a ney must have 9 chambers or nodes and not 8
An Arabic Ney (Turkish one too) has 8 nodes (in other words 9 chambers or internodes)

What is the tuning of the flute
My Ney is called Yildiz (or Rast). It has C (or Do) tuning If you want to get your first Ney, I would suggest getting a Dukah (or Supurde), which simply means it has the tuning of D (or Re)

I bought a Persian Ney from sala muzik in Istanbul. I think the quality is good. But hard for me to learn 😆

@Z7Zefiron7 It's pretty tricky to order a Ney online. I would suggest to look for local Ney makers if you can, so that you can test Neys and see which one will be suitable for you. If this option is inaccessible, then look for them on Etsy or Ebay, but beware of the ones that are made for decorative purposes! PS: feel free to ask questions If you need extra help!
