OoO very nice. 4266 is still being used but since she’s privately owned, she’s a locomotive that only really gets used on special occasions and not normal trips like this. Though it was also privately owned back when this was filmed too.

These were the days before South West trains.

NIIIIICE !!! I first met the #5 in 1988 on a double header out of Tacoma, Washington with the Cowlitz, Chehalis and Cascade #15. The # 5 is definitely tucked away safely and could be brought back. But at least she is out of the reach of the elements and vandals.

The days when you could get right close to the track with nothing to stop you. Now, in recent years they have installed barriers and fences, even fencing seperating one platform with another, all under the excuse of "safety". When the platforms didn't need to have silly yellow lines about 4 ft from the edge and annoying "stay off the track" signs. I never saw those cream/white and brown livery coloured DMU Pacers running between Liverpool and Wigan. The only ones I used to see running through my local station at Bryn heading in either direction where the commonly seen blue or orange liveries. I used to have a model railway set in our loft back in the early 90s and used to go to the model shop in Wigan, but I don't remember seeing the OO gauge of those particular DMUs sold in the brown/cream colour, not that I remember anyway. I'm guessing the others ran elsewhere.

To think, some of those Drivers would have been on The Footplate during The War. Edge Hill certainly has changed from those days to when I worked there in the late 90s and onward.
