I personally think Bellwether did have a motivation. the reason she wanted to make carnivores seem evil was because the president was a carnivore and never treated her well. I think she eventually got sick of it, leaving her to her evil plan.

Excuse me I'm a kid and I think that Disney stuff is ridiculous 🙄

Its been a while since I've seen Big Hero 6, but I have an idea of how to make Callaghan a more interesting character. It isn't perfect, but here it is Callaghan blames himself for his daughter's death, but he can't live with that so he blames everything on the other guy (forgot his name). In some of the scenes with those two together before the reveal, maybe Callaghan could show a subtle dislike of the other guy (talking over him, cutting him off, frustrated/angry looks, etc.). The audience wouldn't fully understand why at that point in the movie, but there would still be clues there. Make the fire an ACTUAL freak accident, and show Callaghan checking out the little robots when the fire starts. In that moment, he would still use the robots to save himself from the fire same as in the movie. Tadashi goes in after him, all of that plays out the same way. However, this time, Callaghan blames himself for Tadashi's death. Like another comment said, they could keep the "That was his mistake" line, but completely change the delivery. Instead of pure anger and yelling, he would struggle to look Hiro in the eyes and it would be clear he was still grappling with his guilt over the whole thing, trying to blame Tadashi instead (starting to see a pattern?). He still wants to open the portal, but he wants to fix his mistake of letting his daughter go in there. He would be motivated by love and deep regret instead of revenge. Tadashi's death would be a tipping point for his character, not just a tipping point for the heroes. ik there are holes in this alternative plot, but I think it is an interesting idea to think about.

Someone else on yt has a video on "the infantilization of star wars" or something like that, & you & he are both hitting the same fundamental-flaw, but through drastically-different angles.. I'm not a Star Wars person ( was as a kid, when the movie came out, but not since ), so .. I'm *guessing* that the portion he found not-dumbed-down was .. Andor or something? Whereas the Disney versions have idiocy like a C3PO picking up a knife & then stating that it is engraved on the knife exactly where they now have to go, so the plot is .. turned into idiot-level mechanical-process.. No discovery, no earning-meaning, no nothing.. That people keep making videos on how Disney infantilizes their work, & that these are *popular* videos, because the audience *doesn't* like being treated as morons, apparently is something that D can't understand? There used to be a rule, that some held-do, last century: "never believe your own hype, because it makes you a fool" or something like that.. D's .. avoided .. understanding that lesson, it seems.. Technically Bellwether did have a motivation, Mayor Lionheart treated her like trash for probably a number of years so it gave her time to build a hatred for him and a prejudiced viewpoint towards the predator class because of his actions. It is an interesting angle to write about because racism can start because of one terrible person’s actions against another (especially if it has time to marinate). I do agree they should’ve put more effort into her character though

not anything to do with the list but i want to add that twist villians are scary as hell. my favorite disney movie is tangled and mother gothel was a good villian, the scene where she was falling and basically dying and turning to dust was scary. but twist villians are terrifying. they put you on edge so much.

I think that Ernesto deserved the fifth point because the whole movie, I think Imelda was seen as the bad guy, not because she is a villain, but because she was giving Miguel a blessing that was very controlling just because of her own preference. Which put her on “the bad side” for most of the movie. Also, like you said with Toy Story, the conflict is less a villain and more of the conflict between family. Sry if was long and annoying to read😅
