Why didn't you mount the arm to the lower bar?
Nice
I need part one-three
I have a Liftmaster LA 400 and I just replaced the batteries for the third time since I’ve had it. this time I continue to have a problem with this gate opener and I was hoping you might be able to put your finger on what the problem is. Today, when I went out to open the gate, I heard three beeps, and the gate would not move. I hit the reset button and still nothing. It was only when I pulled out the 20 amp fuse and put it back in that the gate would operate. But even then, when I pressed it a second time, I heard the three beeps and it wouldn’t operate until I pulled the fuse again. I replaced the fuse but it still does it. I put a multimeter on the transformer and it goes up to 24 and then bounces around but 24 seems to be the full trickle charge. Any tips would be really appreciated
Direct burial of cabtire? That's not proper cable thus code violation...at least here in Canada....needs to be mechanically protected in pipe.
Its repair turned into a fiasco. $1,300.00 to replace mother board, which I retained, its replacement failed a week later. Company reinserted original board and replaced another circuit. $1,400.00 total repair. They are convenient but expensive to maintain. Thank you
hey how did you drill a hole under concrete?
You preset before pour!
Good setup cost of concrete slab?
good morning friend, a question bot to install a lifemaster 400 but no more I have the 4×4 post plus 3 hinges do you think that if it can be installed and the motor goes inside and the door opens from the inside, could you help me
Awesome. About to do a big dual gate project, doing some research before the big day.
How did this job end up going for you. I'm in the same boat
@samswain7942 went great. Sync up the two units, set the open and close points, connected the approach sensor and the close sensor. Also, an entry keypad. Right afterwards someone un-bolted the gate and broke in. Need to install a security camera now.
Awesome 👌
How did you handle the wire from one motor to the next? Did you cut a small channel in the asphalt?
Wondering the same thing I'll find out I just ordered it I guess
@@S2KCYA Hi J. I tried a few different options. I tried using an auger bit with 12in extenders. This worked until I hit something extremely hard and couldn't get through. I then bought an Orbit Tunneling Kit to essentially waterjet under the driveway. This didn't work either once I hit something hard. I ended up having to rent a concrete saw from Home Depot and cut a 2in wide channel in the asphalt to place my 3/8 conduit. I then patched it with Aquaphalt. If I were you, I would try the Orbit Tunneling Kit first
thanks man i'm installing my gate very soon
Why was the junction box needed? Don't they come with a short and a long cable that go from each actuator motor to the control box , respectively?
How much is the Instalation?
I have a LA400 with error code 34, I read thru manual and can not get arm to retract. While the box was open, I did notice a yellow connector/cable is disconnected from left green cable holder inserted into assembly. I’m thinking this is something that needs more than a reconnect from me. We recently had a tornado so I can see where cables would become loose. Is there any easy way to determine which port is its home ? Thank you, Anna from Houston
Did you get that fixed?
Great video, Have you ever install Maglock MG1300 to LA 400 control board? Can you show how to install them ?
Gl1 is far superior lock from Assa Abloy...I've installed several. Mag locks suck because if wire cut the magnet denergizes
how did you pour that with gaps under the forms? doesnt the concert pour out?
0:55 Rebar laps might be a bit shy, great job, thanks!
Very nice video ... thanks .... ??? my unit comes with 2 batteries ... can you show me how to install the 2 batteries with the cross connect... thanks
Photo sensor is on outside of the property . Is it to help close . ? How about if I want the gate to open when I am approaching it
The photo sensor is there to sense a person or vehicle while driving through the gate so it doesn’t close on you. When you pass the sensor then it will do its timed delay of how long you set it at. You can set it from 1 second delay to I think 80 seconds. If you want the gate to open when you are approaching from the inside then you would install a buried exit loop. If you watch the video I explain each item and how they are hooked up to the unit.
Where you located at
So I am having a problem we’re my exit wand doesn’t want to work, this unit also has an access control wired in. Can I hook up both access control and exit wand to the same exit lug?
Im having same issue!!! Cartell CP-4 exit wand! Doesnt wanna work
@@kenanderson8387 did you just install it?
@@kenanderson8387 is it an la400 you are installing it on?
Black and blue to exit terminal. yellow wire and white wire are negative and red is positive. Make sure you hook up your wires to the 24v power that is constant not to switch one as it won’t work
So what is the basic cost of (this) part of the build?
What method do you use to run cable under drive
Good question. I’ve tried a lot of things. Depending on what kind of soil is under the drive way. This one already had a pipe. If it is dirt you can buy a fitting at home depot that you connect to a pipe and water hose and that works pretty good. If you have rock, then pretty much nothing works unless you want to pay a lot in rental equipment to bore it. In this case I just cut the asphalt or concrete with my Stihl concrete saw about a 1” strip and then repair it.
I’m thinking about putting these on my gate and I am in a similar situation with the post next to the brick wall they said I needed 1 foot of clearance to install these, have you had any issues?
No, I’ve not had any problems, just look at the manual. It all depends on where the gates center of hinge point is, will determine how much room you need.
@@jeremystafford365 I haven’t ordered anything yet, The gates 7 foot 11wide by 5 foot tall
How thick plastic?
We used 6mil which is what Lowe’s and Home Depot carry. That way when they pour the concrete the rock that we tamped won’t puncture through and break the moisture barrier.
@@jeremystafford365 Thank you.
Here is a nice way to set your anchor bolts ua-cam.com/video/GH_ftdpC-2g/v-deo.html
Great videos...Question on the Cartel CP-4 automatic gate opener...I wired it just like you mentioned but It wont work...Are you familiar with the CP-4 and its wiring? Any ideas on what am I doing wrong.
That one is wired differently, I’ve done those many times also. You will wire the Red to the positive Power and Black for the negative Power on the bottom Connector. Then on the exit terminal you will wire the blue and white to those two terminals.
I watched you previous video on the concrete. So did they pour the footer up to the 1inch below the plastic let it dry and come back and pour the slab? I have ordered my building and getting ready to start my concrete. Thanks in advance
I poured the footer. We just got it close. My concrete guy said it would be easier to support the outside frames. He was definitely right. We poured the footer. Let it dry and then adjusted all the frames so they wouldn’t move.
@@jeremystafford365 thank you
@@sunnypatchfarm check out my other couple videos and you will see what we did
Nice video but too short, we want to know more info. tell us the different things that you have learned from this job. things you liked, things you would change
I’m done with building it, now I just need to upload the videos! It takes my phone a long time to do it.
How much did it run you for.that foundation? How much of that was concrete and how much was.ground work?
Well it was 2 years ago... it was around $100 per yard. Think it was like 90 yards which was $9000, can’t remember how much the rebar was or the plastic cost. Renting the escavator was only like $300 for two days. Gravel was like 4 loads which was $250 each. I did all the ground work etc, so that was free. Me and my two guys did this in like 2 or 3 days. We pored the footing in a couple hours. Then I contracted out the finishing of the concrete which you will see in another video. He charged like $2000 and did wonderful.
Great video, keep doing them. I would love to see the progress
