Is it pei or pey or...?
How long until more Etsy focused videos? Super excited.
Working on some now!
Great video, thanks! My prusa is popping up a message regarding thermal anomaly. I think that by replacing this i could solve it, I will try!😊
Good luck I hope it works!
since this video is a year old, does it still hold true and is it still profitable?
Still doing really good
Do you have a discord
Not at the moment but I have been suggested to have one, so maybe in the future!
@@glennbrian3d i got two printers . I watched your video. Would like to speak with you
Are you still using the OffNova Label printer? Any problems with it? Thanks!
Yeah I'm still using it for about 30 to 50 orders a day on average, haven't had any problems yet And it's been a few years
@@glennbrian3d Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking about selling on Etsy again. I sold a few animatronic designs but stopped after a few sales because of liability concerns.
@@ez2automate I love selling on Etsy personally, You definitely want to check with the liability though
What is your post processing method?
Definitely making a video on this shortly
Subbed and excited@@glennbrian3d
Ethyl acetate really helps the cleanup. I melt off as much as I can and then soak the hotend etc in EA which breaks it down and makes it much easier to scrape off.
Thanks for the tip!
What is the power?
110
Must be dead, I could only find labels marked Priority Mail and those were 3 inch labels.
Did you make an account?
@@glennbrian3d I already had a personal account so I changed it to a business account but I still don't see the labels. I was hoping to get some free labels for my eBay sales.
@@Pro1er yeah I'm pretty sure it needs to be a business account and it took me 24 hours for it to be made
@@glennbrian3d Thanks, I'll check again tomorrow.
Did you made this shelves?
I put them together if that's what you mean
A lot of these cheap thermal printers are manufactured at the same facilities as larger brands like Rollo and Munyin anyway. Always have a backup plan though because their print heads are low quality so they will eventually break down.
It's probably the same manufacturer as the more expensive ones, I've been using this one for years and it's been giving me no problems
Great video! Easy to follow and it works perfectly! Thanks!
Thanks Glad I could help!
Hey Glenn thank you for all your videos! I have been watching all of them and started my ETSY shop. How much do you budget daily for ETSY ads? what is a good starting point? I have budgeting 2 dollars but it does not seem enough.
Thanks for the comment I appreciate you watching! This definitely deserves its own video, I've done a lot of experimenting with ads to see what works and what doesn't and it's pretty complicated
Well, for me, the wire covering got burnt through and is completely destroyed.
That sucks sometimes it happens!
You just earned an subscriber
Thanks!
Hi glen Just found you. ill be watching!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Why don't the sheets come with this instruction. I ran the layer extrusion setup routine about 10 times and wanted to throw the whole thing in the garbage.
Lol Glad I can help!
Thanks for review. Is it still working good? Looking at ordering one.
Glad you liked it! Yes still going strong haven't had any issues
Thanks for the help! I had to resolder but the problem was the same broken cable! You're a lifesaver!
I'm so glad I could help! 😁
My daughter’s shop got shut down for suspicious activity. Does that mean someone tried to hack her account? 😢
That could mean a lot of things
@@glennbrian3d Well she is young and Etsy disconnected her bank account and she tried to call a number that she thought was Etsy and they called her back from a different number and had her download an app on her cell phone and log into her bank account and give her the code to her APPLE PAY!! OMFG! I reported them to the FBI but thank GOD she realized she was being scammed when they asked her for that code! GEEZUS
@@glennbrian3d She messaged Etsy so I guess we will find out what is going on in a few days.
No matter how long I scrub the pad with dish soap and sponge, still I don't have the effect that you have shown (a hydrophobic effect like on freshly waxed car) and I can't get even PETG to properly stick. I'm starting to think that my plate from AliExpress is a scam (but the shop had good reviews, anyway). I think the next step is sanding the plate smoothly with a fine sandpaper..
If you got it from AliExpress it's probably a knockoff, so this process may not work
@@glennbrian3d yup, I'm worried that this plate is trash. However, I temporarily fixed the issues with big squish of the first layer. Do you recommend any trusted supplier for 300x300 plates?
@@taboret9275 Ive never tried the aftermarket plates
Really insightful stuff, appreciate you sharing. Love your setup, goals.
Thanks I'm glad you liked it!
Power outages in my part of Texas usually last for OVER an hr. Very seldom for a minute or less. Looks like the only way to be sure is to use an external deep cycle battery instead of the enclosed one. Just sayin'.
The ones that last long Prusa has a feature that it can recover the print but not when it flickers and loses half the power
I have one works well Wish you could set it to stay on though Crack the lid while drying Then close it before turning off Cant seem to hit les than 20% though
Thanks for the input!
try cc3d gold silk , they have a dark and light version
Thanks for the input!
love it thanks! I would love if you did a similar one on silver filiments
Definitely once I have time I'm doing all the colors!
been running my 3d printing business since 2015 going on 10 yrs in February. that was back when most still did not know what it 3d printing even was. Unfortunately, I have never came close to making almost 50k a yr. I do better locally then online doing print on demand and prototyping. I make only a few sales on Etsy a month I actually sell more on Ebay.
Some people are better on eBay especially if they started sooner!
This just happened to me, I am extremely frustrated. Finally worked up the courage to open an Etsy shop, been wanting to for years. Spent alot of time designing my products then printing them out. Within 12 hours of opening my shop, account was suspended without any reason specified whatsoever. Appeal was denied. Dont know what to do anymore. Extremely dissapointed, Etsy should be enouraging new sellers, not banning them permanently for no reason.
I hear this a lot Make sure that you have paid your account up to date
@@glennbrian3d Yeah, no amount due. I dont know what to do anymore, feeling helpless.
The exact same thing happened to me at 3 am
To the k1c
It filled the entire extruder complex and pushed out the nozzle and hotend. It also cover 3 of the wires
Devil's hour
Glenn, how can I actually make a profit on Etsy with all the fees?
Hi Roger, You have to build it into your pricing model
Any chance you have a video on what that would look like?
@@rogerkoonce5217 I'm planning a pricing video soon
Hey Glenn, can you help me with this? I want to sell finished printed items that I have designed. I do have the marketing skills and have an online presence. I don't have time to run a print farm, I need to keep control of the STL the only way I can see this happening is if I get a 3rd party to print and post each order to the customer for me. Does anyone know if such a service exists and is it worthwhile? I know of shapeways, Craft cloud, cults 3d, my mini factory & ch trader but don't know how they operate. I appreciate all feedback and comments. Thanks
Hey Glen! Thanks for commenting! I know service is like this exist however I've never used them, In fact I would rather be the service if I ever got into that then to be seeking them out, since I print more than I design. The problem is they're going to have your STL, You would have to try to patent it which shouldn't be too hard but it cost money, and without a proven selling model it might be worthless to do so if let's say it never sells. The tick tock shop might be great for selling your item if you want to put in the time for marketing
Yep I hear ya Glenn, I am going around in circles with this. The only way I can see my item selling is through outsourcing but this is fraught with danger through loss in potential profit margins and as you mentioned loss of control of the STL. As a kiker I live in the most isolated city in the world where postage costs a fortune. Thanks for input Glenn, appreciated mate.
Looking to get one of these, how could I print labels for a 3x3x3 box? If I get 4x4x4 boxes is it ok to bend the labels around a corner?
I don't know about the 3x3 but the 4x4s bend around the corner, That's how I put them on
Thanks Glenn, even with pressing the black colar down I am having trouble pulling the tube out, I think I left it to long??
That's weird it should release, maybe try pliers just the thing is that you might break it if you don't press the black ring down far enough
@@glennbrian3d got it in the end, thanks mate.
@@glenjones182 good!
Yeah, I've subbed to your channel, this has been the best information for starting I have seen in awhile. Videos that are not flashy and direct to the point. Helps me understand what the heck to do.
Thanks so much for watching I'm glad I could help!
@glennbrian3d I am unemployed, and I'm looking for a way to supplement my unemployment, 200 to 300 monthly in profit. I am hoping I could eventually make enough to not need a FT job or any other job. But gotta start small and scale
I'm unemployed and would love to start this type of business. I have no clue what to do to begin the business. Am I selling just 3d prints? am I making designing things to be printed? Combo of both? Where are the best places to sell these things? I'm not educated enough to start and very intimidated.
The best thing to do is start and see where you we will succeed, The great thing about this type of business is anyone can do it with enough time and effort!
Printer looks same as Jadens brand (apart from colour)
There's a lot of copycats out there
You should not do a 1 integer SKU. When you get back around to 10, you're gonna have a bad time
My Skus are 8 digit, planning on releasing a video on how I do my skus
Do you worry about AQI at all with so many printers running in your living space? Are you using hepa filtration?
Yes this is a slight worry of mine which I'm definitely going to do a video soon I have some sensors that I purchased to see if there is anything harmful in the air
whats your problem with bambu?
No problem with bambu besides for they aren't open source
In my opinion this tiny screws are an construction failure. After months of printing it is impossible to get them out in a ordinary way. Please Prusa think about a better solution for that.
I haven't had any issues with them, but I've also only had to replace a handful of these if it's heated up they shouldn't get too clogged
Hi What was the color of filament that was in the thunmbnail
I think that's marble filament
I've read on multiple reddit posts tha sunlu, jayo, kingroon and another brand are all the same under different names, so I would add Kingroon
In my experience kingroon is definitely different, at least the quality of material for sure
In looking at these I am really interested in working on DND type printing. Things like miniatures, terrain, etc. Is there a reason you would say not to do those kind of print farms in resin vs PLA?
Resin would be much better for miniatures but more work
Do they ship to UAE?
I'm not sure I'm in the US
Do you have a recommendation of how many printers to start with if you're just beginning?
I started with one printer, once I started getting orders I ordered them as I started getting overwhelmed, it's hard to predict how many orders you're going to get exactly so try to always have one not doing anything while you're expanding
@@glennbrian3d Do you recommend a certain number of prints in your store before you "open" or just start selling immediately with 1 and go from there?
@@bradsmith9867 That's the great thing about this business, I just print on demand and never really hold much inventory unless it's something I sell all the time but you won't know that in the beginning which one it is
@glennbrian3d I apologize, I mean did you wait to have a certain amount of files available on your etsy store before actually "opening" or did you just put up one and start selling immediately? I'm unsure if it looks poor to start the shop with 1 item or not.
@@bradsmith9867 I started with I think only two or three items, just build as you go
Really liked the easy attitude at 0:38… plain and lovely! I’ll try to convey this same positive mood in my channel! Thanks! Bye!
Thanks for watching!
Are you still using this printer ???
Yeah still works great
@@glennbrian3d Hi thanks for great video. Are the free labels still available? I'd like to know where to get them.
@@rosecontrena2274 Yes as far as I know I got them like a month or two ago
Hey guys! I figured I’d share this as I just got this to work a of writing this message. When it asks you what account and asks for an account number , I called the ups technical support phone line (im from USA), the operator asked for my name , address, and account username. A few mins later she sent me my account number code , and I was all set from there. Hope this helps , and good luck!
Thanks for the input!
COMGRO has an exact copy (or did Sovol copy them??) And it is very good. Exact controls and operation. Propping open the door on the latches makes a big difference in the amount of humidity removed and not reabsorbed. Also works as a storage and feed box. Nice system.
I've never heard of them so probably a copy
