Really good content and super nice setup!
can you use the lifts to take the topper off and store it on a shelf? Ex. you extend the top and then reverse the truck into a garage so the topper rests on a shelf and then you unbolt the lifts from the truck
Well done Chris!
Have you ever wondered why there’s not a lot of reviews on this system? I think it’s a hell of an idea but just concerned about leaking, and not quite enough head room to stand up. Maybe I’m gonna have to switch out my campershell for a grandpa campershell 🤣 Either way I can still accomplish my goals of mounting my new awning on my new rack that’s still sitting in the shop, stealth camping, & being able to sit in a chair comfortably and cook and eat and get dressed.
Nice effects on this video. It looks just like my old 8mm films I shot when my buddies and I would camp out in the Southern California desert. No UA-cam back then! Was this shoot this in Southern California? Maybe the Mohave Desert?
Just outside of Bishop California. At the top of the past there. Good guess. I appreciate the comment. This was the old film effect in da Vinci.
I'd rather live alongside a loyal loving dog than with most people. Sad to admit.
In regards to The tailgate canvas tent piece at the 2:57, would that work on a high rise ARE MX shell? Or would the canvas be too short to attach to the higher ceiling of a high rise topper?
Honestly. Id say it would be big enough. When you go to buy this kit, it will ask you if you have a full or mid size truck. Which will determine the amount of material they use for the kit. I would ask them directly to confirm.
3 MOA or 6 MOA?
Can you out another flip up tent on top of that?
This with either a high rise topper maximizing head space or custom fit with a go fast camper/topper combo then with the raised roof top tent slide in a disco bunk bed would be a killer setup
Agreed! Is that your plan??
Me and my dad went on a horseback fly fishing trip out of Cody Wyoming when I was a kid. The guides had a blue heeler leading the way up the mountains in case of grizzlies. There were 4-5 horses and 4 humans but that little sucker led the whole way(30 miles)! At one point the lead guy hopped off his horse and said “we’ve got a sow grizz on the trail in front of us somewhere probably with cubs.” We continued up but they were paying attention to every move that herding dog made the rest of the way. Bad ass little cuties they are.
What breed is your dog?
She is a Blue Heeler
does this site require reservations like the ones south of the parkway?
No. This is the first come first serve site. It seems more of a roadside dispersed camping spot.
Can you post the location?BRP is very long.
When I heard you make that sound, I pooped my pants. What gives?
😂. Its the call of the Shithawk.
Great video!
bring a styrofoam board an seal the sides. i want to try this, and i’ll make a video if it makes any sense
Good idea. Curious to know how it works out!!
I have a 2021 8ft bed Tundra and live full time in my truck with a full kitchen and bathroom area. Try use 20 mil or thick tarp for your siding. My truck is water proof, also I have the lift on 4 inch blocks and the topper rises to 5' 11", I'm 6ft so it's nice. This is great for stealth camping with the top down!! Just an idea using tarp instead of the camper package. 👍
I seen another video where someone did something similar. It seemed to work. Ive used the tarps before as a temp system. Not a bad idea, as long as u can secure the tarps.
Great video Chris, Thanks. Quick question = There's no reason to clamp the topper while driving, is there? In other words, the system works as the clamps.
That is correct. This system will secure the topper at all times. I guess you could use the clamps if you really wanted while driving. But not necessary.
Hi Chris! Love the vid just subbed, I have a few questions about your setup and preferences if you can DM me? Thanks!
Hey, tried to send you a message. Maybe reach out to me directly and see if that works.
You aren’t afraid to have that food at your camp?? No hanging your food in bear bags etc!?? Yikes
Nice video
yeah take a video from inside your house while your dog is about to get mauled. wtf is wrong
On the porch. Was confident in her recall.. shes well trained. I do appreciate your concern though.
Napoleon Dog Syndrome
I was expecting a full size heeler when I got her…Shes only 21lbs.Shes a little nugget.
Breed to take on bulls
And anything else bigger than them lol.
That bear is lucky cause Gracie was going to give it the business. 😂❤
That bear would leave gracie in a mangled mess in just 3 seconds
@@CokeConnoisseurit's a joke
😂. Heeler mentality for sure!!! Bear had no chance 😅
Gonna end up being a meal.
Shes tiny.. a snack at best.. I’ll be keeping her closer moving forward.
My Gracie is a miniature Australian shepherd mixed with blue healer. She is just lkethis dog 😂❤❤❤❤❤
They are little fire crackers most days lol ❤
Great training
Thanks. Shes done really well. Super smart and loyal!
Thank you. We train almost every day. Shes a little over 2 years old.
This is why u train your dogs. That could of gotten real ugly
Thanks. Shes a bit over 2 years old. I am continuously re enforcing her training. She did really good.A little close for comfort…. Thats that heeler mentality coming out..
Dang that was close
Agreed! The bears around here have not shown any real aggressiveness toward her. More curious this one was. Most of em run off way before she gets that close.
Let’s go Bluey!!!!!!
Is it safe to drive at highway speed with the camper open so I can fit my motorbike inside?
They don’t recommend it. I can speak from personal experiences that it did hold up to about 55 miles an hour about halfway up. The way that they advertise it is that it all allows you to still use your bed for things like you mentioned. That implies that it would be OK.
Across the mountain is Cranberry River. Bishop Knob is a campground at the top. Go on down and to your left is Cranberry Campground. There are some spread out spots along the dirt road. I grew up fishing on both rivers, on vacations. You can backpack past the gate and walk for miles, fish and camp along the way into Cranberry wilderness. Enjoy! 😊
Thanks. I appreciate that info. The water was pretty low on that section as well. I have an idea of where you were talking about. I’ll stay at that campground a bunch. I’m planning on going back up this fall/winter.
Dude! What a camp spot! Do you have any coordinates? PM me if yo think that would be better. Love your doggo man, shes so sweet!
I live close to where you where in this video about 20 mile away
Have you done any camping around there? Any recommendations? It’s a cool area to camp around. Always glad we have access to some free camping! Thanks for watching.
Excellent explanation, thanks !!!
It ended up being a bit more involved, but I have not found a video explaining the install! I still think its the best addition to truck camping /overlandin!!

Thanks. Been busy the last couple of months. Planning a few trips soon. Thank for watching and commenting!
whats it like having the same name as a country music star?
It’s only awkward when i check into hotels… They are usually really disappointed 😂😂
How do you like the new tundras?
Disgusting the trash and HUMAN Waste left behind on our beautiful mountains. Last time I was on Pisgah mountain we went on ole logging trails to the "free/primitive " camping spots. First stop , soon as stepped out truck...smell bout knocked me out stepped off road. Piles of human waste , toilet paper, women's hygiene products PILES of it. Shit in a bucket and haul it OUT Fool's. If your to lazy to dig a hole and bury it , take it with YOU. The inconsiderate people ruin our woodlands please dont litter , leave NO trace.
I chose the Leer 122 shell to accommodate my height. I'm 6' and can almost stand straight. I do wish the controller length longer; so if it's up and gets too westhery, it could still be lowered from the front of the bed
Thats the mid-ride Topper, correct?
I just got this system. How/where did you attach that shelf that rises with the topper?
I attached it to the top of the actuator . I used the existing mounting slots and added an additional bolt to mount the shelf.
Ok where is this. I get time off during the week. So I gotta know. Good place area etc for trail running?
This up near mile High camp ground on the parkway. Basically on the same road as the paid campground. This is all free!
Thanks
@@chrisstapleton-ChalkPrintProd Please don’t share with the general public camp locations. It’s harder and harder to keep these sites from getting over crowded. Let them come up and explore and find organically
Hey its first come.... First serve. Be respectful it's free @@eckleyextreme
I have an ARE Camper Shell/Topper. Is this a complete shell system I have to purchase, or can I use my existing Camper Shell, and turn it into a "Pop-Up" Style camper like yours?
No. Look up EZ Lift topper systems. They are universal systems that allow you to use any brand shell.
You will use your existing shell
Have you ever had it lifted with your 270 awning deployed with the walls on? I have the same awning and I'm getting the lift and weekender next week. Just curious how they go together.
Check out the video I have for that awning. It might answer your question! Thanks for watching., ua-cam.com/video/4HTWti-hVlQ/v-deo.htmlsi=2OK9tKaaaBL_dwPh
Love the channel man! I do fishing videos as well. A lot of trout content. Gonna be fishing gold rush in west Va for the first time soon!
