Just Add Water
Underwater, 5 days a week, in all weather for 18 months, conducting a marine environmental impact assessment on the sea life within PalMar Lagoon, Mauritius. We were told the task would be easy as there were but 8 species of fish and 1 or 2 species of coral living in the lagoon. Boy, were they wrong! We cataloged over 300 species of fish and 20 species of coral of which one species of coral was classified as extinct for the past 50 years. This video is but a small window into our findings. Enjoy

While working on a shark research project in South Africa, I'd work 3 weeks straight then my wife and I would pack up the Jeep with our camera gear and head into the bush on Photo Safari for a week. One instantly understands there's more to Afirca than lions, elephants, and rhino. The bush and plains are magical, life, both small and large, is everywhere to discover. However, one must keep in m...

Photographs taken a long time ago while conducting shark research in South Africa. Photos taken from the patio of our beach cottage, scenic place, large pods of dolphins swam by daily. I'd get up early to photograph the sunrise, often times these were spectacular, thought. Thank you for subscribing to the channel. Turn up the volume and enjoy. Until next time, Stay Safe.

As a Marine Mammal Consultant I found myself living and working in many parts of the world far from home. This collection represents time spent with dolphins in Africa, Japan, Mauritius, Jamaica and the Bahamas. There's nothing like seeing wild dolphins. When I'd discover a local pods ...

If you've followed previous videos with reclaiming "Shadow" you know she's been a challenge i.e. aggressive, rude, bites, and at 1600 grams she's powerful. Upon arrival December 5th, 2020, I introduced the hood, as seen in the first few segments, she went into panic mode. Marine mammal “open ocean” training was first established in the early 50’s. Today there are but two privately owned facilities worldwide practicing this high level of training. Find a nice spot, drop anchor, go for a swim with your animals or better yet...

The moult offers a good time to tackle problems. Captive bred, chamber raised, parent fed birds are the worst. Shadow is a hard imprint, no fear, aggressive by nature, still gets that way if she spends nights in the mews. If she spends the night on the round perch in my office, she's golden. Try to fly in an area that is void of things for your bird to land, wide open spaces are good, no poles, no fenceposts, no buildings, no trees etc. To get the bird to take a pitch you might try flying in light wind for starters, cast him off the fist, as he goes up reward him for the effort, he'll soon figure it out i.e. going up means big reward.
