I would say that Arjun was equal to karna not superior or lower than him in terms of archery. In the Virat yuddha used some smoke bombs to get away from there, also in gandharva yuddh karna and duryodhana were heavily drunked ( How can someone as strong as duryodhana who was disciple of Balram had fought with strong people like bheem can get caught by gandharva) I agree that he was evil but I don’t think he was less powerful than arjun.
