@@FIREWeGo LOL, dividend funds pay out no where near 7 percent, maybe you have a money market fund bet payouts would be closer to 5 percent per month....

You are correct! We don't have GICs, and the dividends we have in our margin accounts are all Canadian dividends, so they're pretty efficient!

@@FIREWeGo I'm currently looking at Thailand, Portugal, and Poland. I plan to scout Thailand in probably 5 months from now. I'll likely be traveling alone and have to make new friends because I'm the only one among my friends who retired early. Even my "wealthy" friends refused to retire early despite having at least $2 million in net worth. Some people are just workaholics and actually believe they'll get "bored" in retirement.

You're coming up on one year retired! Congratulations! How does it feel? Dividends are our favorite thing at the moment! 😉 We definitely recommend living abroad for some of the time... you get to explore new places, try new things, and depending on where you decide to go, you can also save a lot of money! @@FIREWeGo how can you get ITIN numbers? I have lived in the US for years and until i got my green card I didn’t get a social to open a credit card. I had heard of ITIN but I thought you have to have an application with immigration to get one.

No, it is a fairly simple process. If you need to file a tax return in the US, they will issue this number to you.
