ABANDONED DESERTED VILLAGE OF FELTVILLE
The first settler to the area was a man named Peter Wilcocks, an englishman. He had built a sawmill here abouts 1736.
Producing lumber that was needed for farmers to the local area.
In 1845 another man named David Felt bought the land and built a printing factory along
the brook. He had built an entire village to support the mill operation and by 1850, 175 people were living in feltville. In ten years or so the village become deserted.
In 1882, a man named Warren Ackerman bought the property and converted the former mill town into a Summer resort. named Glenside Park and closed in 1916.
Union Country Park Commission eventually purchased the property and included it as part of the Watchung Reservation.
In 1980 it was listed on the national Register of Historic Places.

🤣
Awesome thanks buddy for sharing
To this day it's still not complete.. I've delivered to neighbors and it still stands abandoned. Beautiful but yet spooky at night.. Really doesn't feel like you're 20mins outside the city
Ohh no! That’s a shame. The guy had a big project on his hands. Maybe one day. Thankx for letting me know.
8:52 I think it is commonly called a 'Bay window'.
Actually it would be wouldn’t it. Thank you
Solid short!! Love this one
Thank you my friend 🙂
Loved this video bro! Enjoyed hearing the history on the place, wish i could of been there with ya. That is while Channy pays for the new starter for the car since she's the one who broke it. 😁
Thank you brother. Yeah, she needs to to work on the car now that she did so. 😂
The colors still on the houses are so cool, and probably so toxic, lol but they lasted, each of the houses are so unique, thnx for the videos, sending positive thoughts and vibes 😊
It's crazy how long some of the paint has lasted. Thank you for all your support. We love you and appreciate you. 🙂
Wonderful Historic Feltvillw adventure. I like the wrap around porch and the first house that looks like a steam boat ferry porch.
I loved the whole atmosphere of the village. That one house was the school / church. It really did look like a steamboat. Lol
This is such an awesome place. I love how the beams of the porches are mostly rough wood and tree branches. I hope they fully restore this village so people can visit the interiors as well . Great piece of history . Great video. Really enjoyed this. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
It was an amazing place. 🙂
could the bird fly out? Or was it stuck?
I think this is the vulture’s nest. But how it got in is the question. Lol
@@PastLifeExplorer I guess his food is inviting itself in the shape of explorers :P It doesnt need to come out
Reminds me of a 90’s cartoon with the vulture, waiting for his meal with napkin on and fork and knife ready. 🤣
@@PastLifeExplorer oh yes..i know which oen you mean
what an interesting place
Definitely was for sure. Very unique
sending prayers..Love your videos as always brother
Prayers sending 🙏🏽❤️great video as always brother!
Thank you sis. ❤️
Sending my support
Thank you ❤️

Once a very long long time ago Baltimore Maryland was a very wonderful place to live as you can see now what remains is no more
This is true. They even made movies based on Baltimore. Or at least hairspray.
09:50 Flavor Flav, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Michael Jordan and the computer thinks the last one might be Tupac but I'm not too sure it's right.
02:00 I'll just copy and paste this for you. The giant metal sculpture of a troll, known as "Big Rusty," was created by artist Thomas Dambo as part of his environmental art series using recycled materials. The sculpture is part of a cautionary tale about environmental responsibility, symbolizing how discarded materials can be transformed into art. The troll was crafted on-site from materials found in the abandoned location, making her a unique addition to the urban decay setting.
Nice!
@@PastLifeExplorer Always happy to help. 😁
08:08 From my research, it seems the fan was either to exhaust clay dust or fumes from a kiln. - I guess I should add that I found out it was The Creek Turn Ceramic Supply Co. It was a pottery shop and warehouse.
There ya go. Least now we know. 🙂
@@PastLifeExplorer I'm also assuming that cool looking oven was probably a kiln.
It gives me factory vibes. Like an older style factory. If so, I wonder would of been made there. Cool place! I wonder what the other Big Rustys look like. 🤔 Cool place! Blessings for safe travels! ❤
Awesome exploration PLE!!
WOW!!! that's a pretty cool place to visit. I wonder what Bigfoot would think if they saw Big Rusty? Rawarrrrrr!!! LOL!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you PLE for filming and preserving these wonderful hidden treasures.😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome explore! Thanks for taking us along. And Thanks for being amazing PLE! You Rock!!😊
Thank you for always supporting

You mentioned Rt. 66, and went you 1st went in, I was looking for the moss man, or whatever he was made of and you weren't sure you if he was real or not, very cool art installation, and the brief AC/DC song, so who has the balls?, lol 😅 thnx guys!!
We’ve got the biggest balls of ‘em all! 🤣
Awesome little find guys! And yes, you were right, that was Coolio. May he RIP!! And one of the other guys was Flavor Flav!!! ⏰ You can always tell him by the big ass clock on a chain that he always wears. 😂 Love him and Public Enemy. And I love you guys!! I'm gonna reply back to your email here in a few minutes btw, I didn't forget! Lol. Y'all be safe on your travels!! Proud of y'all for getting to do this and live y'all's dream and I hope I get to look back with y'all in 5-10 years and see how far y'all have gone! Much love always, -t.
Definitely. Talk soon
That's pretty awesome. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! 🙂
I wonder the history behind this house. Looks very old . Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤
We have a Frank Lloyd Wright home in our area it’s over 100 years old, but looks like it’s modern great explore guys
this neighborhood was built as a direct result of johnsons great society movement and closed because Jobs failed busing was enforced across the school district and other mis guided efforts left the neighborhood occupied by the least fortunate and they ran through the homes like pack rats fill old gold mines out west soon the neighborhood was so dangerous even the cops did not want to serve warrants there! So what did the nation learn ! donnot build houses out of anything but rock so when the least fortunate occupy them you cannot burn down rock and even if they snipe the electrical new can be reinstalled in the conduits in concrete and well no place for rats and cockroachs to live in the walls!
LIKED AND SHARED!
Inspired by Frank Lloyd .. I feel cheated.
👍🏼 I take it you didn’t read the description nor listened to the commentary. Sorry to disappoint you when it has been named after frank Lloyd Wright after it was inspired by his work. That’s the point. So you weren’t cheated, nor did I lie about anything in the video. Thank you.
"There used to be something right here". Yah. And it's still there mask boy. "This is the large bathroom because look." And he has spacial awareness too! Cool house but you need to work on your commentary dude.
Yep! 👍🏼 Whatever you mean by this comment. But hey, it had you watching probably till the end just to critique what I say. Means don’t fix what isn’t broken. Have a nice day and I am well aware of how the day. 🤪
This place was so ahead of its time for its age. Futuristic. It would still be an awesome house it somebody still lived in it and just upkept it and maintained it. Such a shame the just let it go....definitely would still be a very cool place to live had it not been destroyed. I've seen this place before and it was some ghost hunters claiming it was haunted. Nice job man!
How sad... Looks like that was a cool place. It looks like a house where Glenn Quagmire would live!
18:24 I've seen those mud things before. So you know I had to look it up. A variety of wasps are called mud dauber wasps, because they make their nests out of mud. And it says these types are generally docile. So if you don't make them feel threatened, you should be fine.
That was good to know. Made me alittle nervous
@@PastLifeExplorer Understandable. I actually didn't realize any wasps were docile.
17:34 I asked AI and it agrees with you. 😂
🤣
Sorry about so many messages. Been awhile since I've had time to really sit and look at all the details in the video. But you are correct about the hole in the wall at 15:53 being for wood. Saves a lot of energy and mess, by having access to the wood right next to the fireplace. I'm not sure about reaching through exactly, because I'm sure my arms are too short. But you can stuff the wood in from outside, then grab it from inside. My personal opinion, I think you might put a few pieces in there before bed, in case you need them in the middle of the night.
I’m glad I had the right idea. I like that it was built in
@@PastLifeExplorer Been a long time since I've had a fireplace. But it sure would have been nice to have.
12:31 I really wanted to see what the fixture would have looked like all together. But Google only found the design in microscopes, film reels, welding supplies and an ice cream machine. If you could find a picture from your childhood, that would be amazing. ---- You found one intact! So cool! Google says it's 1950s.
11:52 Is that a tiny bright blue bird flying by?
I think
09:00 Did a Google search and you're right. It's a home intercom system.
I knew I was right on that. Lol
08:34 I totally want that oven!
I’d love to make it work again.
@@PastLifeExplorer It's more convenient than bending over a hot door.
