@mabsbry1318 good morning you can use either Martin tape or grips tape both work just fine as long as the top layer is always grips tape as you need the glue on the grip tape to allow the grip to slide on. Thanks.

@@tourfitgolf Yes seen it. Very clear and looks easy. I’m a no nothing in relation to assembly but have friends who can assist . I’m putting it off as long as I can, would prefer a second hand one. @ they come in from time to time now the season is upon us a better chance. I would say a knowledge or some repair would be good if and when you need to change a pet tho just so your aware. Like a car vehicle there will be an issue at some point. Longer without any issue when new just like a car I guess.

Inline fuse is normally between the battery and control units I have torberry leads with inline fuse if you need one 👍

The yellow wire is for the charger to measure if it’s charging a lead acid battery or a lithium battery you will get a new charger with the new lithium battery so it won’t be needed for you when you change.

@@tourfitgolf No Asian market did for my whole product range over a 2-3 year period. Producing cheap clones. We won lots of awards for product innovation and design. Still today the pattern style of the our suits are now a standard design for many of today multinational firms. So happy to see prototype units using NI design and made fabrics for the mid 1990s now in 2025 still mimic by others. Todays suppliers just bulk buy from 2-3 manufacturers and stamp there brand. Take the risk on 15-30% faults on warranties. But with millions in turnover they could absorb that.

Well yea they are heavier than a normal grip so you would need to add head weight to make the swing weight exactly the same however as most of my customers buying these are simply looking to have more comfortable hands it’s not been an issue any of my customers has requested to be put correct but yes your point is valid. Mick it’s me and my wife only we are a small family’s business we are actually a golf grip brand 95% of our sales are from this we only sell the buggy’s to our local customers and if I get a trade in buggy I plan to restore them for customers and document it online like this one. Just have no trade in buggy’s in the winter. Neil

Derek, just check if your FX5 has a red black yellow connection if so this is 12 volt and would work on lead acid we would have the connecting adaptor I will add link at end. If you connection is red gray black then this is a 30 volt option and the lead acid battery will not work as voltage is two high and would damage the glider. If it would me I would use a lead tho I have then so it’s red/black/yellow to red/black end. Just take care to mount the battery somehow as it won’t be a great fit into the glider. Hi Neil, thanks for getting back to me on Xmas eve, the fx5 is a red,/black and grey connection. I thought I could just buy the adapter and join it to the glider. But it's a different voltage between the glider and battery?

So joining the fx battery which is 30volts to the glider which is a 12volt motor won't work? Sorry about all this.

Correct would damage the glider get a new brick shape lithium £169 with charger supplied last 10 years and you have a good trolley there. Neil

Hi Gerry so yes and yes but one version of this trolley it’s an easy install with one with the roller on the handle, the only version with the round knob like a question mark handle you need to modify the handle plastics so the pot can install and stick out enough to connect the knob. So the yellow connector is actually for the charger to determine if the charger is charging a lead acid battery or a lithium battery it’s not used when powering the trolley only the red and black connector is used to power the trolley. Red is positive connector. The adapter is only £7.45 tho so not so expensive to keep it all safe I guess but if your happy to connect red to red and black to black that’s ok also. Neil

So, i understand, the yellow pin only has importance for the charguer, and no interest for the battery, and powakaddy mantein 3 pin in the battery and trolley. I thougt i need ensambling the yellow and the red one in a same plug (positive) and them connected This plug to positive red battery plug. Thank Neil

But also, in the trolley i’ve seen the yellow wire is connect to the base plate. In other video you post, you cut the yellow one. What about that? Thanks Neli

When we use the universal kit in our other video this is not needed as we use an analog system. We don’t need the yellow wire. Thanks

Hi again Neil. Thanks a lot. My trolley i a FW3. I understand your explanation, but, how could i solve my trouble?? Just connecting the red and the black one to a lituium battery? Will be any problem if i don’t connect anything to the yellow pin?? When i see the adapter, i feel the yellow pin is connected with the red one. Is there any chance that the yellow pin is connected to the red wire???? Thanks

You can replace your electrical system to run on old school twist pot like an original older golf trolley, basically no digital system turn knob to go turn knob to stop.

Thanks for your question I must do a video on this. So if you extend 1/2 an inch you make the shaft more flexible and the swing weight or head weigh will become heavier. Ideally you would want to add 1 inch to the butt then remove 1/2 an inch from the tip end. Then remove weight from the head to make swing weight the same as before you did the length increase. Must note it’s unusual to extend a driver 1/2 an inch nearly any fitting I do I reduce it 1/2 an inch which will help dispersion and almost never loose the player any distance. Hope this helps. Neil

You can do this to replace the bearings but as I was saying I have not had much luck in making a difference mostly in the motor. When they do noisy best a new complete unit you can try a full motor and gearbox rebuild and see how you go replace all the bearings and lithium grease see if you have some success worn parts are worn parts tho crown wheel and communicator etc cheaper to order a new complete unit. Thanks.

Thanks Neil. I have a spare unit available I'll swop it out over winter and be ready for the next season.

To the best of my knowledge it’s lithium grease and lifetime no need to change or top up. If you pot oil in the seal won’t hold it and will run out. It’s also a nylon drive so should be self lubricanting. Noise is more likely from the bearings I have never had success if replacing them 2 in the gearbox and 2 in the motor. Good luck.

@@tourfitgolf If the bearings are pressed into aluminium there's an easy way to get them out as long as you can get the aluminium casting into an oven. Heat the casting up and it expands way more than the steel bearing which will come out easily or even drop out. Same for fitting new bearings - when the aluminium is hot, they'll go in easily and tighten up once it cools.
