Does this work on ps5?
Unfortunately not , most of these mods require the nemesis engine to work and that only exists on pc
What other animation mods would you recommend for this combat overhaul
Well that clearly depends on your personal taste. Elden souls collection is a decent choice for fast paced combat, ER katana is pretty good if you like katanas, yet all of these mods can severely impact the balance of the game , so that is definitely something to keep in mind. There are many showcases out there for animation mods so i recommend that you look up a few of those and see what you like for yourself :)
How do I install these mods, I installed them but mco isnt working and this is my first time.
I mentioned in the video that the majority of these mods require the nemesis engine to actually function. Using nemesis for the first time can be a bit tricky but there are many tutorials on youtube that will guide you step by step on how to set it up so no worries!
I know I'm late here, but dropping a comment to say I like Markarth Outskirts, which I combined with a number of other mods that build on Markerth. There is one mod however that looks very interesting and is probably under rated by nesbit098, called The Way of the Dwemer - Standalone. I've not yet tried it and wondered if anyone here has. The author has a number of interesting mods and I use what use to be called Nesbit's Crap Remover, now titles Sriders Blank Nif. It removes various bits of clutter from the roads and floating flat snow. It's a great way to clean up the game.
I absolutely loved that mod when i first saw it, i then found out that it got removed from nexus and i was unable to find it anywhere else , so no i haven’t tried it but if i managed to get my hands on it i definitely would.
As far as clutter removers go as long as they don’t do any “ dirty “ edits that result in CTD’s then yeap , i absolutely recommend them!
Yo! New to pc modding here, so I really appreciate this vid. I’ve heard of another armor mod is sentinel. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but it apparently implements some, if not all, of the immersive armors plus more lore friendly armors
Welcome aboard fellow modder haha! Yes , i have heard of sentinel before yet it does feature some armours i don’t really like , thus i don’t use it. Its definitely a great option tho.
Cannot hear you at all.
Really? No one has ever complained about the audio levels in my vids so idk. I will try to increase it a bit in future videos i guess
few years late arent ya?
Better late than sorry bud!
@Theskyrimnerd0 I'm just kidding I dig your mod picks I run the same armor mods on my skyrim
@@nicks4903 i apologise then my fellow modder :)
Uhmm..well..the text referring the mods decided to never show in the video and I realised that when it was a bit too late as it was already due to upload. So that sucks. Mods are listed in the description tho so you can probably spot them while just watching the video. I am sorry about that guys.
Nice, I was thinking of trying out an Emb. I will give this one a try.
@@RedTBasco very glad you liked it!
Oh, damn... Finally, good looking npcs! Thanks 🤘
I am very glad you liked it!
Honwstly, I'd say go away with ENB and go for community shaders. It's evolving very quickly and is a community effort, with some features that ENB doesn't feature
First time i tried community shaders it butchered my fps, so i gave up on them. I have heard that they have improved a tom tho since then so i might give them a try at some point in the future again :)
@@Theskyrimnerd0 definitely still kill fps.
I've looked at Skyland as an option and it does look good. I have been Skurkbro's, which has some great parallax. I've also had CleverCharff's. What I really love about CleverCharff's is the icicles. By far the best I've seen. Ice and icicles are so poor in the base game and even Skyland doesn't look great. For a cold and Nordic themed game you'd hope that something that is quintessential to providing the feel of the game would look at least similar in size and colour to the real thing, instead of the block of fiberglass look we get. If you know how to simply swap out and mash Skyland with CleverCharff I'd be so impressed to see how it's done. I expect it's something to do with either Xedit or swapping files.
I have used clevercharff for a very long time , and its definitely a great mod pack. I do have to say tho that the more you use it you realise that its kind off a hit or miss. Some textures look absolutely amazing and then others seem like they are not coherent at all. That’s why in the end i switched to skyland. I have been considering skurkbro’ s as well tho since i am begging to like the aesthetic of this pack. Now when it comes to mix and matching textures i am afraid i have no idea how to do this. I am no modder. I would imagine that you need access to the modders tools as well as in some cases the loose files of the mod pack. And some mod authors give no access to their loose files.
@@Theskyrimnerd0 I agree. I don't use CleverCarff's AIO anymore as walking around Whiterun just highlighted what was off, as you say. But I still hate those ugly icicles everywhere. :) Dynamic Interface Patcher - DIP, I believe allows you to unpack files from mods that are locked. I've never tried it though. Currently I'm looking at Vargrl3s Whiterun Re imagined. It looks interesting, though I think the author has a few navmesh issues from the YT preview I saw.
I do love this mod list and recommendation of yours; however I’m a bit confused in terms of like what exactly the load order should be? Not necessarily the mod list of course if you’re uncomfortable sharing that, but in general I’m confused as to how to put this together a bit. (I’m extremely new to modding so I’m a bit confused about that~). Also just a personal question; are you not a fan of the rsv (racial skin variance) mod if you’re using the bnp series? Where like it spreads around and distributes skin colors in a more like realistic way. ( I personally cannot find a proper guide to make that work properly it’s killing me 🫠 but I’ll figure it out sometime) I did love the video though, thank you 🙏🏾! I’m personally trying to get my game to be as realistic as possible and even tho I do want to use stuff like (TNG) and (CBBE) it’s more for realism purposes as well.
Thank you for your comment! And yeah i know exactly how it feels haha , even after years of modding i still feel like there are stuff that i don’t know lol. I am loading the mods in the following order: Nordic faces UNP HIMBO bnp skins Seamless males Expressive facegen morphs Expressive facial animations Coverkhajiits Terre’s 4k fur High poly vanilla hair Vanilla hair remake Salt and wind Brows Beards SUEMR SSE authentic eyes Beast hbb Rs children Children of the north
What really matters tho is your plugin order. And i would recommend loot for that, it will organise everything automatically for you and its really easy to setup. I would say 95% of the time it gets everything right so its reliable as well. Now as far as rav goes i am afraid i can’t really help here as i haven’t used that mod in the past. I do now that HIMBO has a rsv compatible version tho!
@@Theskyrimnerd0 Thank you a lot!! I’ll definitely try that out!
Great find. This along with the Lossless Scaling app, available on Steam, would be such a help for people with low-end or older hardware.
Keep it up!
Thanks!
Nice setup, i use something very similar. Glad to see the supermodel pornstar trend in skyrim fading away
Finally a npc overhaul that doesnt make everyone look like a model or anime protagonist
Thank you! I am glad you liked it:)
Great mod choices, if people want to go for even more rugged/vanilla look while still being a significant improvement over vanilla textures: Use Tempered Skins for Males and Females, looks great and is the only mod i've found that doesnt make characters look like plastic. Another mod to use is Racial Body Morphs with FKDRS (included in RBM), it makes every race look unique, Bosmer are short, Orcs are wide and strong, khajiit are slim and agile, and Altmer are incredibly tall as they were in previous Elder Scrolls titles.
Thank you! And yeap those are some great suggestions indeed. I have tried these mods myself in the past and i can confirm they definitely make a solid setup. One thing to note tho is that RBM will require various patches if someone uses othen npc mods.
that is well done.
Thank you very much!
the real issue is the map scale, its far to small to have a good adventure
Well by today’s standards one could say that the map is small , personally tho i don’t consider it to be that small. And also if we consider that this game came out 13 years ago the map was literally huge back then.
It is great mod texture but vanilla has its own aesthetic
Thank you! And i mean well yeah , it definitely comes down to personal preference from one point and up
The modding community for this game is one of my favorite communities in existence. I just wish I hadn’t screwed my files up like I did so I’d actually be able to take advantage of everything they have to offer.
Lol , i am very sorry to hear that. Have you tried uninstalling and just starting from scratch again?
the comparison shown in the intro is interesting, vanilla looks better & much more realistic.
@@grapeguymc well i don’t know , everyone has their own tastes. I personally cannot stand the low poly mess that is vanilla.
This is honestly insanely well made!
@@GhostlyPresence0 thank you!
Nice to see a combat overhaul that doesn't turn it into a fantasy 'Kung Fu/Ninja' movie flick. It's a Nordic themed game, with the Empire clearly based on the Roman Empire, and there's a ton of info out there about the style and weapons used in the early (not late) medieval era; so thank you for the effort and resisting the stereotypes, with the eye candy back flips and never used in life katana move sets for a long/short sword, etc. Also for pointing out how move sets change the balance of the game to the point where it become unbalanced. The one thing that is missing from the game is the spear. I'd love to see that introduced. I'd also love to see a complete move set based on OAR, to completely miss Nemesis and allow for specific scenario building through OAR's add-ons (Detection/Dialogue/Math/Riding Animation Overhaul) so where a Katana is used, or a Khajiit is unarmed, then we can have matching move sets based on the lore of the game. P.S. I like how concise you were, I'll be checking out the other vids you made. Thank you for set up info.
Thank you for taking the time to write this comment! I always appreciate comments like yours. And yes those are exactly my thoughts as well, realism and the nordic themed are some things that should be kept in mind while modding a game that is all about nordic culture. And yes i agree , seeing an animation pack that would not require nemesis would definitely be an interesting concept! Now about the spear , i do plan to create a weapons overhaul at some point in the near future that will include new textures + some lore friendly weapon additions , i will gladly add a spear mod there if i find one that is worth it.
@@Theskyrimnerd0 That sounds very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing your solution. So far mine failed :)

Thank you very much! I am very glad to hear that :)
Well done!!!
Thank you!
Do you know how many of these mods are available on Xbox creations?
@@SomeChef none probably. The majority of these mods require the nemesis engine to function and this exists on pc only
@@SomeChef valhalla combat tho should probably exist on bethesda.net for xbox too
That volume change at around 5min was a ''blast'' :D
I am very sorry for that lol , some settings probably got messed up with my mic.
personally i dont fucking care for Nordic animations... the animation specially the locomotion is just terrible . Its a long as wait for Verolevi to bring out more weapon animations but the substitute is probably Edgemaster MCO as the pack covers all weapon types including Animated Armory
I can understand that, everyone has their own preferences. And i do agree verolevi animations are great indeed. Personally my only problem with the locomotions is that some of them are just very long , thats why i consider cancel attack to be essential.
A mod that i forgot to mention in the video is my first person animation overhaul, in case anyone was wondering i am using CFPAO , Comprehensive first person animation overhaul
I like a lot of the changes (especially the guard outposts and the crates/other stuff around the boats), I guess my only issue is that im not sure how i feel about that main house thing above the canals good work :)
Thank you , i appreciate that :)And that’s exactly why i like this specific mod, you can just choose whatever you want and make the city exactly as you wish!
what do you think of the combination of jks skyrim and dawn of skyrim?
@@grapeguymc if your rig can handle it and you like that style then sure , why not? Its a pretty unique approach. But for me personally that's just too much clutter so i don't think i would use a setup like that
@@Theskyrimnerd0 u mean its too much clutter performance wise or just too much clutter it looks meh?
Well performance depends on your rig, if you have a good rig performance should be okay. I just personally think that it’s too much clutter to the point where it looks kinda meh. That just my opinion tho , some people like having a lot of clutter around their game
Also i am downloading that make your riften mod asap lol
Haha yeap its a great mod indeed!
Great outcome indeed , doesn’t strive that far away from vanilla but just improves upon. I am definitely excited to see your combat overhaul, skyrim definitely need some work when it comes to combat lol
Thank you! I hope i will be able to get the video out soon enough.
Okay so all the main cities are done! Next up we have a combat overhaul. Stay tuned and tell me what you think!
Riften needs a remastering
No worries! Riften is next up!
@@Theskyrimnerd0 there is not much to go with for Riften. Surjamte that made Capital Windhelm Exp. and Capital Whiterun Exp. was close to finish Capital Riften but he stoped modding for a job offering or something. I followed his live streams and the ideas that he got were awesome but yeah never finished it.
Love it! 👍🏻 I do like the vanilla version but this is even better. Love the higher walls and everything 😍.
I am very glad to hear that!
Yeah, some city overhaul mods just add too much clutter for its own sake. They could use a bit of art direction.
Exactly!
I realised that my mic pops throughout the video when it was a bit too late.. 🥴 sorry for that guys! Next up will be riften
Your mic is good, your voice is clear. One thing - maybe wright a script before making a video, so you don't have those ''ahm, hmm,'' moments.
@@ikariameriks i am definitely planning to do this as soon as i get some more free time. Working nearly ten hours a day doesn’t leave you much free time unfortunately lol. But thank you for your feedback, i am definitely planning to do this in the near future hopefully!
I give you an up vote, but I really wish you had included Nexus links in the description.
The time i uploaded this video i was not eligible yet to include clickable links, and that’s the reason why there aren’t any. I know it is very annoying indeed. Now that my verification is complete and i am able to inlude clickable links i always have them on my other showcases. And thanks a lot for your upvote!
@@Theskyrimnerd0 That's great! Thanks!
Hmm, its like a mix of what youd have seen in the dos games and what we actually got in skyrim. Cool, but i think id prefer more simplicity. That being said, if id never played skyrim before, this would be more favorable in my opinion because going into it for the 1st time id expect something similar to crows perch in the witcher 3, just bigger. But since i have somewhere around 6000 hrs in the game, i already am used to whiterun being small and lacking any depth. So i just prefer mods that subtly fill in the empty space rather than adding entirely new things to the city.
Yeap. I completely understand your point and its perfectly valid. I actually had the same opinion as you when i started modding. Eventually my eye just got used to the bigger stuff and i slowly started liking them. That and also the fact that the witcher games are probably my favourite games in general lol, so i always have the scenery from the witcher 3 in mind while i am modding. Thanks a lot for your feedback tho :)
i really love it, it makes whiterun like it should've been at the beginning. I can't wait to see the rest of your remastering project ;)
Thank you very much , i really appreciate it :)
nice! you changed the cohesive texture designs and made the game look like an unreal asset flip!
Thanks a lot!
Whiterun is suppose to be an open city maybe remove some statues or make it more open by removing some walls
You could probably try to remove some stuff through console commands , like a few statues for example. Removing walls tho its just gonna make the whole thing look broken. You might wanna try the low version of the whiterun has walls mod, as it looks a lot more open. Or maybe even skip that mod completely. Thank you for your feedback tho :)
You should try the Great City of Solitude mod. It adds so much to the outside dock area.
Thank you for your suggestion! I actually have tried that mod in the past and i think it looks great. The thing is , when you pair large expansion mods with a bunch of other texture mods , lighting , weathers etc. , maintaining a stable performance is fairly difficult if you don’t have an insanely good rig. And my main goal here is to try to keep the game as stable as possible. That’s the main reason why i try to avoid expansion mods. If i ever make a more demanding load order tho i will definitely include that one!
@@Theskyrimnerd0 No worries mate. Keep it up. Are you on pc or Xbox? Since there are a lot of city mods on pc.
@@michaelsmith8028 thanks! I begun modding on xbox and i switched to pc about a year ago. I am still not completely familiar with all the different options it offers. Pc modding is absolutely limitless but takes so much time to learn lol
Okay soo...again , there was just not enough variety of mods available for solitude to get the result that i initially wanted. So that's not my proudest showcase. But stay tuned everyone for the next part that's going to be markarth , as i have something pretty good planned. Cheers :)
It is too pretty. The city expansion is great, but I like the run-down walls more. They show wear and tear, and that Skyrim is not as rich as to afford high maintenance. Having marble horse-head statues every 20 feet is just too much.
i understand what you are saying. But - to my head at least - whiterun is the trading center of skyrim. So the way i see it they would be able to afford something like that. Same way goes for solitude for example. Riften on the other hand should appear poor and worn down. But i definately hear your point. It just comes down to personal taste. And thank you for the feedback :)
I think it works for whiterun at least because of how important whiterun actually is. it should appear more wealthy than it actually does in game
