Hey so what was the reason for changing the ecu. I have a 2002 Highlander. Cylinder one is missing. Changed coil packs, changed plugs, changed injectors. Compression good. Went as far as removing coil pack and running plug outside cylinder while car was running. Got fire. Plugged in an injector outside of rail was getting pulse. Changed fuel pump. Regulator. Fuel pressure is good. Only thing I haven’t done is trace wires down or change ecu only because I was getting current to coil and Injector. Thinking possibly no right current🤷🏼 Does go into limp mode every now and then and won’t shift into overdrive until I reset ecu

It's still a no-brainer that since you already have the bed off you might as well change the fuel pump 😅

Christmas tree bracket is over engineered like a mofo. American cars will have anything that ridiculous. I got a sl550 coming up. I haven't touched a Mercedes in almost a year. I live in a college town. My last one I did was an 05 crossfire. It literally sat at the chrysler dealership for over a year. Mercedes said the key was a few months on back order. Since it was a chrysler, chrysler did have the oem tool to service that car. They found a chry dealership that had the tool and they mailed it over to this dealership. It's the tool that takes a memory card in a5 the bottom and it'll have the software to service the vehicle your working on. Thenthey didn't have the adapter for the crossfire. Then finally got that in and was able to plug in obd2 and connect. I was watching over his shoulder and that tool had every option to diag the key/remote/immo etc. But they only thing it didn't have was a program key option.. lol so stupid. Anyways. I endup pulling immo and ecu and I have it sent off to delete/bypass immo. Got it back plugged it all in and boom! Fired right up.

the plugs had little clips you push while pulling to get them loose, once the cable is in your home free

My dad came out of a store, hopped into his late-1950's Buick and drove home. Turned out he had driven somebody elses Buick home. Identical paint and interior. The other owner came out later, called the cops, figured it out via license plate. The keys fit both Buicks. True story

Lesson for next time there's a plug at the bottom of the bed that disconnects both tail lights so you don't have to remove them just FYI

“Wrong key” error = Bad key or wrong key for that vehicle… It will not program with a bad key error as you witnessed. Step 1 check if unprogrammed key will power up the cluster just won’t start the vehicle, If yes proceed with programming. If the key won’t initially power up the cluster before programming it will not program period. Carry an OE fobik for testing you can always virginize it back if needed.

This guy is taking the time to show us where the ecu is and i find it irrelevant people complaining about erratic camera movement. Basically once you know the location, everything else is a plus. Once you find the computer everything else is self explanatory. I salute this guy for his effort.
