Love this idea. I don't want to hook up a tap to the dripper. I have an old tall plant hanger that will be perfect for this.
In Argentina its name is Calandria. Beautiful bird.
Very nice!
Just a thought. I haven't tried this yet but perhaps putting a screw in the hole might allow a person to adjust the drip rate by tightening or loosening it.
Somebody else mentioned that in the comment section a while back but I’ve never tried it. Also somebody suggested making the hole on the side of the water jug down low rather than through the bottom to keep the minerals from clogging up the hole… all sound like good ideas
Very clever!
Great design! Gorgeous property 🫶
I love this idea and I'm going to try it myself this weekend. But that looks like a pretty fast drip rate to me, more than 1 gallon per day. Mind you, this is based on my years of experience owning old cars, which leak fluid at various drip rates. 🥴
thanks for your comment.. you're probably right about that gallon running out in a few hours ..it's a tricky thing to control... it could be running out quickly but a week later it could slow down and might last a day or longer if the hole gets plugged up with minerals etc.... if you read the top comment I talk more about this..and how to clear the minerals that clog up the hole.. and how to make the hole in the first place... good luck!
@@245webster Thanks for the reply. It took me a while to find the comment but now I have read it. Great info!
Clever idea. ❤

can you post your city.
So peaceful.... Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful! I wish I could find a log like that one! Thank you for sharing.
Yeahhh..🌴
We love this idea and we are going to try to implement it before the Michigan winter sets in. If I may ask, how do you keep your gravel areas weed and grass free. We have a large patio area with small stones and I’ve given up trying to keep it lookin nice.. I would appreciate your sharing how you keep it so clean looking.
Thanks lol but we have the same problem with the weeds lately.. we tried Burnout ( made from cloves and won’t harm wildlife) … some people use salt or vinegar but that can Leach into the roots of nearby plants. I think the only thing that really works is to pull them out and we really haven’t been keeping up with it lately. But good luck on the birdbath! I’m glad you liked it
Just curious, how come it doesn't freeze up at 20 deg. F?

Unfortunately, I don't have a tree to hang a birdbath from.
You can use a tall shepherds hook from Lowes.
Eric Capton Twomey. LOL. Love it. Gonna tell Bert about this.
Hey Deege Great to hear from you I was looking for your tapes of Mountain and West Bruce and Laing online and I couldn’t find them… do you still have them?
@@245webster Every time I had my cassette tapes transferred to CD, didn't I send you copies? I did for Bert. Of course I still have my "bootleg" recordings they are jus not on youtube. There are a lot of Mountain and WBL recordings on youtube.
@@tdigiano I heard one on UA-cam of West Bruce and Laing at the Orpheum theater….. somebody else must’ve posted it but I’m sure it was your tape…got a huge kick out of it because I could hear our voices saying it was so “mane “ etc Would love to hear more like that
@@245webster wasn't mine. One time the Mountain Hyannis concert was on youtube. I think it was from the guy that transferred my cassettes to CD but youtube took it down, probably copyright infringement.

How would the water not freeze
Hi ..on very cold.it takes a little work but there is always liquid water where the water drips... I fill the jug up with hot water from our kitchen sink in the morning...and empty the jug and the bowl at night before it freezes hard... if the weather is say below 20 degrees it's something you need to keep an eye on break up the ice from time to time.. so probably not possible if say you're at work all day.. but the dripping definitely does help keep enough liquid water for the birds to get a drink...hope this helps..
Beautiful!!🥰
Beautiful video and so many different birds! Ingenious way to make a birdbath.
Very nice indeed!
Lovely video and nice birdbath. Lots of goldfinches on the bath, but none in it. lol 😉
It's too deep for them.
Very nice bird bath. I love the design.. I was just flipping through UA-cam and it stood out to me as I am old country.. Stay safe. Stay blessed
Great share! Love the variety of visitors!
Good to see all of them needing water and finding a great fountain!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best co!lection of photos I've seen yet
Absolutely gorgeous yard and beautiful bird bath
I love it. I’m going to make one for my garden. Thank you.
Best idea yet, I have to change my birds water about six times a day because the starlings mess it up so much.I think your idea might work.. Thank You.
Wow this is a friggin zoo
Love this! I'll have to find a way to hollow out a log easily because I really want one of these now!
I actually found it in a stump dump already hollow from rot and just cleaned the inside up to good wood with a chisel … it only took about an hour or so… when I went looking there were several hollow stumps to choose from
Wish I could get these birds in my yard. Been trying for years. :(
