The Berserker by Wild Edge Berserkers were fierce Viking warriors. They would "go berserk," which translates to "change form," in battle. The Berserker is a saddle that allows all hunters to change their form to a savage predator, elevated in anticipation of prey. The Berserker was manufactured by Kong USA, a reputable climbing company who we trust with all of our climbing gear from carabiners ...

Fantastic interview! I can't remember when I purchased my first set but it was years ago. I can't remember how I first learned of the Stepp Ladder either. It wasn't a trade show, possibly in a L.L. Bean catalog. I've since added a couple of additional sets. They, without a doubt, provide the hunter the market's safest method to get to hunting elevation. Thank you Jim Stepp for your original idea and marketing. Thank you Andrew for continuing to offer them and your other products to the hunting community.

I'll be honest: I like the Wild Edge steps better as a Ring than for climbing. Currently climbing with the Sladder and sitting on a Wild Edge ring. Perfect.

The fast knot tying method changed the game for me on these. Speed wise and getting them tight enough to lock. If you havent seen the method search for it. Basically take a bite of rope as it comes around tree and twist it and loop it under the edge of step. Its the exact same knot without fooling with so much running end of rope.

I dig it. Been running a very similar setup with your steps for years now. Haven't carried more than 3 steps with me in a couple years. I use a 6 step aider but attach to step a little different.

Seemed more like 15-18’ to me. Would have been nice to have that pole marked at 30’ and a side camera view on a 15’ roof. You’re right. Each move would have to be ten feet but with a 5’ aider there’s no way. I guess I have to find and view the S.M.A.R.T. method.

Might as well have a climber. Saddle hunting is meant to be light weight and minimal. It’s turning into carrying a climber that’s in 6 pieces.

Fuck those keyboard fucktards, Wild Edge is the most versatile climbing system on the market hands down. I've been through the climbing stick disaster and it's just not worth it. I don't care about the weight. The versatility outshines. Keep up the great work!, maybe soon we can see a dedicated wild Edge backpack...?? Just a thought.

I bought the Berserker three and a half years ago. I love it. It’s comfortable and fits me good. I love the over size linesman loops are great. Overall great saddle. I think it’s under advertised to be honest. The other is that it would be great if Wildedge made saddle bags. People like convenience of shopping all in a one stop shop. I bought mine off Amazon and they ammo dump pouches but work fine. Their ropes are great as well. One last thing, minor critique. Offer other colors. I’d like too see a coyote brown or green. Just a thought.

I purchased my first 8 piece Step Ladder back in 2020 after using climbing sticks for a few seasons. I've done all I know to do to keep them quiet and they are still noisy. I'm just shy of 61 and still love my saddle hunting. Got tired of the noisy sticks and now use the step ladder exclusively. I went back tonight and ordered an additional 10 piece step ladder. Awesome products!
