My channel is dedicated to the creative arts. Follow me with a weekly visit to watch the progress of building a model ship, the Bark, "HMB Endeavour" and more recently, the Mid-deck section from the same Eaglemoss kit.
I also want to dedicate this build to my much loved Dad. He died in February 2022 from Cancer, and although he was 83, he still had a zest for life. He will be forever missed by all in the family and those who knew him. I had hoped to complete this project well before it was time to say Farewell, sadly not to be.

8 Month Build in 15 Minutes!
This is a photo record of my build of the Mid-deck section of HMB Endeavour. It took me 8 months to finish this model, but you watch the build process in just 15 Minutes! How cool is that? If you enjoyed it, please leave a like and perhaps subscribe to the channel. FYI the backing track and lyrics was generated by AI (Suno)…Here are the lyrics: and a link to Suno.
[Verse]
Sails unfurl to new spheres
Journey starts in England's cheer
Venus crosses sun’s bright face
Under Captain Cook's embrace
[Verse 2]
New Zealand shores they chart and find
Mapping coastlines in their prime
Great navigator rides the waves
Left his mark on lands he braves
[Chorus]
Endeavour sails the open blue
Discoveries old dreams renew
From Botany Bay to unknown fronts
Legends born of Cook's great hunts
[Verse 3]
Australia claimed beneath their feet
In Botany Bay they did meet
Plants and animals redefined
Nature's secrets left behind
[Bridge]
But fate's cruel hand in Hawaii's bay
Cook's charmed life did see decay
Local hands did seal his flight
Dark brought end to guiding light
[Verse 4]
Ships of space now bear his name
Endeavour rockets past the flame
Discovery in stars we trust
Legacy turns dust to lust

Gran trabajo 👋👍
Trés beau travail et trés propre ...Congratulations ...Magnifique !!...
Magnifique très jolie merci beaucoup mon frère
beautiful ship and really well built! I really like the color scheme and the yellowish planking. Great subject as well!
Nice compilation of the the build. Thank you. Looking forward to the next ship project.
Beautuful wor :) Thanks to you and Home Harbour i star with wood ships :) my first ship wassan francisco 1/50 cross section. Realy thanks it's a great hobby. Waiting for your next ship.
Amazing work <3
Very nice work
I enjoyed the video almost as much as watching the original build. Does this mean you're about to start a new project? I remember you told us what it would probably be, but I forget now. I hope you might consider a really ambitious project like the full HMS Victory (1:72), Cutty Sark, or USS Constitution. All magnificent ships. Victory and Constitution both have bow sections. These are easier, but more challenging than the mid-sections.
Yes it’s “Porquios Pas” a continuation project 24:54 of part32 but not until I’ve finished my involvement with another “non-ship type” project😋 Thanks for watching my synopsis video even though you’ve probably seen a lot beforehand 🫡
Well done, sir! Well done...
Great video, it looks incredible.
Still consider this a very nice and neat build. Your end result was so nice.
Excelente trabajo amigo.. Digno de admirar ...Gracias por compartir parte de tu mundo a escala...
Gracias por mirar. Si quieres ver más, puedes ver la construcción completa en mi canal y también la construcción del diorama debajo de la cubierta.
Our ship was much slower.
These more modern ships have a “turbo” button now ye know! Oh yes.
I'm jealous!!!
beautiful scenery
VERY GOOD WOORK
Thank you so much. You inspired me to build the same model - out of coffee stirrers and old scrap cardboard etc . Your videos are truly enjoyable and instructional and your skills are amazing!
So glad you find my videos of interest, thanks for the kind words and best wishes with your new project! Sounds like quite a challenge !!
Like you I always hide a note in my models. For example I hide notes in the engine block of my car models. And I thought I was the only one who did that. 😊
Brilliant, Don’t know where I got the idea, I just thought it was a golden opportunity to make some kind of “time capsule.” I do like to wonder if it will be discovered sometime in the future, and when exactly that might be. The model presumably must have some kind of shelf life long after I’ve gone. Thanks for watching and making your comments - Andy
Andy, fantastic!!!! Quite the finish to a great series. Well done!!!
Many thanks for following along. So glad you appreciated my efforts. Another recap video to come and work on “Porquios Pas” in the Autumn hopefully.
Excellent..10 / 10. I’ve really enjoyed my Thursday ‘fix’ 😊
Hi Geoff, hopefully you’ll see for real very soon!
Congratulation, well done.
Wonderful model. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the episodes. Looking forward to your next project.
Hello from across the pond Andrew. One can definitely see your model ship building skills improve the more you build!!! She is coming along quite nicely my friend. I am glad to see you have your rigging blocks orientated with the correct hole at the top & line going through. Keep up the good work my friend--From the USA
Thanks for watching, great to know the videos are seen from afar. Thanks for the nice words. Cheers Andy
Absolutely stunning, Andy. But, you must remember that the lowest sails on a square rigger are the courses; so, you have the fore course, the main course. I did some further research and the main course can, indeed, be called the main sail. Here is the quote: "In sailing, a course is a type of square sail. It is the sail set on the lowest yard on a mast. The courses are given a name derived from the mast on which they are set, so the course on the foremast may be called the fore-course or the foresail; similarly main-course or mainsail for that carried on the mainmast. On the mizzen, a course is not usually carried. If it is, it is called the crossjack (or cro'jack) or mizzen sail. The lower yard on the mizzen takes the same name (crossjack). When there is no sail set from this yard it is still needed to sheet home the topsail. In that case, a clue to the arrangement is the absence of footropes." I look forward to your next endeavor. 😂 Until you get back with that, I'll do some binging on the full Endeavor.
Thanks for following along. Great info. once again (of course)😜 I hope you find the main build of Endeavour interesting at least. Not really meant to be “how to” videos more of a vlog. At any rate, Cheers Andy
@@A.MacDonald I just enjoy watching you do such a great job, Andy. I had to give up trying to build my own when the tremors in my left hand became too bad. My right shakes a little, on occasion, but not nearly as bad as my left. I'm trying to find all of my tools, instructions, and parts, to the two that I haven't finished and hope someone will buy them.
Beautiful work .
Outstanding turnout It’s a beautiful model Andy. Cheers 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Brilliant result and its been a really treat following your weekly updates. Amazing just how quickly the weeks have flown by. Looking forward to seeing you again online later in the year - best wishes.
Thanks Tony, Really appreciate the follow along & kind words. Let’s hope these weeks “slow down” a bit and we can enjoy a long summer!
Fantastic work as always mate, it's looking really good!
Thanks for your continued interest, and thanks again ☺️
Excellent as always Andy Cheers 🍺🍺🍺
Andy, each week I think it's the end and you surprise me with additional rigging. This model has proven a lot of fun and enjoyment.
Thanks again, a couple more videos should do it. Bunt lines then finishing touches and possibly some castings or 3D printed crew.
@@A.MacDonald Love it!!!
Mir gefällt deine Arbeit. Greetings Mario
Looking absolutely great, Andy. Have you been giving consideration to what/when your next project will be?
Thanks John. So after a summer break I’m thinking of continuing a build I started in 1986!!! And never finished. Billings boat “Porquios Pas”…..maybe!
@@A.MacDonald Looks good. Have a wonderful summer.
Lovely work. I have enjoyed all you Endeavour videos. I am trying to persuade the other-half to let me buy this model (either Occre or Caldercraft although any opinions on other kits would be glady heard) An option for the sails would be to have them furled. Sails and rigging still in view while showing the mast. Also, saying the sails were on the original is not necessarily so. Ships only had their sails fully rigged when at sea (depending on the requirements), furled when at anchor with the yards (except the lowest ones) dropped to their lowest position. Sails were usually de-rigged when alongside sor any length of time. Of course, masts could also be removed at sea if the conditions dictated a need to do so. I am sure that others could give a far more detailed and accurate account of rigging possibilities.
Thanks David hope you get to build the Endeavour if possible, it really has been a lot of fun. As for the sails I meant they were on the original model I made last year rather than the full scale ship. Also furling the sails on this model using the provided sails was just not working well, they just don’t scale down very well and they look rather bulky and awkward. That said your info is very interesting and I am going for the “at sea” look…Cheers Andy
Andy, looking great! Almost ready to retire this build. Any idea on what you will be building next?
Not sure yet, but probably re visit my build and finish the “Porquios Pas,” a billings boat kit started many years ago.
I'm sure you said main sail just to make it easy for all the lubbers that don't know the lowest sail on each mast of a square rigger is called a course. That topsail is pure proof of why the topsails and topgallants were split into lower and upper sails. That big sail would be a real pain in the event of bad weather coming up suddenly. According to information I found, the topsails and topgallants were split into lower and upper sails around 1800.
…and I am the archetypal lubber for sure. Great info on the sails, from a true maritime dude😊. Thanks for sharing and watching🚢⛵️🛳️
@@A.MacDonald It took me a while to find the name for something missing on the sails - reef-points. These are pairs of lines attached to the sails in horizontal rows that are used when taking a reef in a sail.
Excellent build

Its looking really good Andy, great work mate.
Thanks once again!👍🏻
ever consider tar the lines so it has that authentic smell?
Perhaps I could, but then I’d have to re create the …er…”aromas” below deck😷
@@A.MacDonald I think skipping the odors is a rather great idea.
Fantastic series, beautiful model, great painting of the crew (I don't think Captain Cook would be wearing shorts, though. I think he forgot to put his stockings on that day)
Thanks David, perhaps it was a hot day😎
Please show how to do all the bitty bits.
Well sails are next. Let’s see what happens.
I just wish someone would do the beginning of this process at real speed so we can learn and see every aspect of this. Rigging baffles me. Just hate the speed through. 😢
Noah, click on the video screen and select "Settings" Click on the Gear and select "Playback Speed". Perhaps you can come up with a speed as there are many playback speeds to pick from.
Many thanks. Didn’t know about this.
@@noahandgabrielsmodels3387 Hopefully it works. I only stumbled upon it and forgot all about it until you mentioned it. Good luck!
Fantastic. Can see a lot more detail now. Phew! Thanks again.
….what the others said😜
I was thinking a mid deck for my first go at one. I see it is as tedious as a full size. My eyes! Beautiful work Sir.
Aah! You’ll be fine. 🤩 thanks.
Very , very nice. Great job
Thank you so much 😀

Thanks, will do!
Those clove hitch's are going to be the death of me...Ugh. Looking awesome, Andy!
Yep, the boring bit, but step back after it’s done and you’ll thank yourself 😎
