Question, you said you order the E85 tune as well as the 91-93 tune. If I just get the 91-93 tune do I have to do the datalog process, also how did you get both tunes (E85-91-93) when I looked at American muscle website they only let you pick one custom tune to buy
my car is a mustang gt premuim 2022 and for some reason when using the paddles on D and on S itll jerk the car. its only shifting into fourth gear. like 1-2 smooth the same for 2-3 but from 3-4 itll just the car very violently. also it sometimes varies not sure if it depends how much throttle i give it. Should i take it to ford ? not sure if this happened bc the last owner barley drove it. its a 2022 mustang gt premuim with around 2600 miles.
@@10r80.chriss have you tuned the car?
@ no it’s stock
How did you get the ghost cam tune? I ordered the lrx and custom tune package but there was no ghost cam option during check out. The device is still being shipped so maybe I have to email them directly?
@@myprofilenameisreallylongl5956 yea email them, there should’ve been an option somewhere that was like “include ghost cam tune” on checkout but I’m sure they’ll help you out
Thanks!
I had a similar install. I did however use the already existing hole in the firewall on the passenger side and run the power cable all the way back. I'd clean up those wires in the back. Could be a fire issue if they get pinched.
I have a stock 2019 gt premium fastback...only when I put it into sport mode I notice a jolt and jerking forward and back...what could this be? Does not happen in normal mode.
So the sensor is saying that you don’t have full e85 ? I just want to use this sensor to know what ethanol content I’m on without having to use a test tube for fill up
@@Jnaszty559 yea that’s what I use it for. Very rare is it to come across 85% e85, I’m lucky to have 79% e85 as I’ve seen as low as 67%
thanks for this, we were getting a lot of noise tapping into the signal from the wiring harness how most others say, not sure why we didnt just think to tap directly into the speakers right there.
@@drprince89 yea it’s definitely the easiest way to go. You can solder them or do what I did which I’ve never had a problem with, or you can tap directly into the wires too with some t taps
So it does turn off automatically if I leave it plugged in
@@rex5oh yes it does
Dose it show IAT 2 temps ? On the gauge while driving ?
This is sick! So helpful thanks man.
@@noahjosse6143 totally. I was pretty frustrated not being able to find any documentation on how to install this so I hope this was helpful 👍
Can you install one on a none85 car just to see octane level per fill up in general or unless
@@bears893 this won’t tell you the octane, only the ethanol content. I don’t believe there’s such thing as an octane sensor, usually an engine will measure knocks to determine octane. If your car requires 91 octane and you run 87 in it, the engine will knock, telling it that you’re not running 91 in it. However you can still install this to read out ethanol content in normal (91 octane) gas
E85 is an excellent fuel system cleaner because it's high in ethanol. Leaving no carbon build up
I’ve got a 2015 gen 2 engine 5.0 and I just got the tick after changing my oil at 108,571 miles. I ended up switching to 5w30 and it didn’t fix it so now I’m here and am going to try ceratec tomorrow hoping this fixes it.
Did you have any luck?
@@Driven2Review yup it’s gone, if u have 8 quarts of oil add 1 and a half bottles of ceratec
@@Driven2Review do it every oil change it’s expensive but it’s the only fix ig
@@vincentvincenzo8418 I only added 1 bottle to my tank and I haven’t had a single noise since! It’s the way to go for sure
lol. A tune most definitely does not void your warranty my guy. I appreciate the video but you shouldn’t spread misinformation or speak with such certainty when uneducated.
@@jasonsmith3962 this is sort of true. I am not at all “uneducated” on this topic. An ECU tune WILL void warranty coverage on the engine/powertrain if something breaks. This is very common knowledge. Here is the actual truth- “ECU tunes are a gray area when it comes to factory and extended warranty compliance. Making modifications to an engine may void coverage.* So, a car owner concerned with preserving warranty protection will want to skip this upgrade, no matter how tempting the effort.” www.endurancewarranty.com/learning-center/extended-warranty/9-performance-upgrades-that-wont-void-your-car-warranty/#:~:text=ECU%20tunes%20are%20a%20gray,matter%20how%20tempting%20the%20effort. Your ECU counts how many times it’s been flashed. If you tune your car, and you bend some rods, the first thing a dealership will do is check to see if the car has been tuned. If it has, they WILL NOT cover the repairs under the warranty. This is mine and thousands of others experience. Now there are “tunes” that DONT flash the ECU, which in that case you can get away with it. However this is not common nor have I seen anyone use a “piggyback” type tune on a performance vehicle. Youre more than welcome to do the research for yourself. Please check the way you speak to people. Not cool
where did you tie the remote wire in to shut off the amp when the car is turned off? thanks
The LC2 has a remote output on it, which just turns on and off when it receives/loses signal from the radio. If you have a stock radio, I would 100% recommend getting the LC2 or something similar. It’s an awesome unit
@@Driven2Reviewcan I just split a wire from rear speaker and connect into remote in as a signal? Thanks
@ no, the remote signal needs to be a constant 12v DC signal
In addition to the DCTs, the wet clutch restriction applies to motorcycles that have the engine and transmission sharing the engine oil. The Cera Tec with it's friction modifiers would have a negative affect on the wet clutch in my V-Rod and reduce it's ability to hold the power, for example.
I did something similar for mine, and only added the one bottle. Made a HUGE difference on mine with only what I would say is normal valvetrain noise remaining. I think on my next change I'll do 2 bottles instead and see if it reduces it further...or I'll just let it burn off a little more oil and replace it with another bottle lol

@@BOOMER9551 on the ghost cam tune?
If you already have a cai tune and a 93 tune will this get rid of it? Just don’t want to mess anything up that I already have and paid for
@@LaneSpeckMedia yes if you flash a new tune to your car it will replace whatever tune is already on the car. If you own the tuning device for the tune you already have you can always switch back and forth at your discretion
@@Driven2Review it was tuned on a dyno so i don’t have a device for that
@@LaneSpeckMedia yea flashing it again will get rid of that tune. Are you wanting to run e85 or upgrade any part of your engine?
@@Driven2Review run e85 eventually it has a CAI tune and some other stuff to get rid of all the check engine code for o2 sensors
@@LaneSpeckMedia yea I mean I assume your 02 sensor issues are from something to do with a converter “repair”, all of this can be done via a tune and with the LRX gauge. I’d recommend it overall 👍
Looks really cool!
@@Notguilty1 thank you!
In all my years working on hotrods.....You want your trans to shift fast and snappy......When it shifts slow that builds up unwanted heat....Heat is what kills automatics....Lund wrote that tune like that for a reason.....If I were you I wouldn't even trust that tuner you have to clear KAM.....You definitely want to disconnect the negative jump the neg. cable to the positive cable still hooked to the terminal....Let that take everything out of PCM/ECU and all capacitors. Then take that positive off also and let sit overnight. Then reconnect and let it relearn from the tune you're using. I have 16 GT 350 with all kinds of mods...My computer is tuned by Livernois Motorsports...They write a lot of Fords programs as their business sits directly across the street from Ford Performance HQ. If you call fords tech line they will tell you Livernois is one of the best companies to use for aftermarket tunes...
@@thomasrouh2258 there was definitley a problem, it would slam out and in of gear 3-5 below 3000 rpm. I did fix the issue with the kam reset through the LRX gauge, but later on ended up disabling the adaptive system and the car drives like a dream now
@@thomasrouh2258 let me further clarify, the issue was with the adaptive trans learning, not the tune. The timing that the tune introduced is fine. This is a known problem with the adaptive learning, the problem arises when you flash a tune it automatically resets this system. If you don’t drive super conservatively for 100 or so miles after reflashing it messes up the learning. Thats where the problem was.
@@Driven2Review Got ya.....In and out of gear....Ok...yes that's definitely an issue....I also agree with the adaptive KAM learning. Even though my 16 is a 6spd manual It does take at least 100 miles of driving. I just reset everything again today after upstream and downstream o2 sensors which is needed after performing the install....MAF sensors also and ya gotta do it again......I don't have as much to relearn from tune with the manual trans......Lund is another good company with years of experience....I'm sure they stand behind their products......Have you done any suspension mods?
@@Driven2Review When I perform my reset....I do it with my Livernois tuner and also disconnect the battery and do it that way....Gives me that extra sense of comfort...lol
@@thomasrouh2258 yea I don’t blame you about wanting to disconnect the battery, definitley more fool proof. The reset stuff can be annoying. Yea I just dropped a video yesterday, I got the RTR tech 7’s along with the RTR lowering springs! Pretty chill, nothing crazy. Not looking to track the car any time soon haha
Hey, those seats.......where'd you get them? Also, are the heated and cooled?

@@Driven2Review lrx I found where to load the log It just doesn’t give me options to download log from lrx updater to computer so I can send it thru ticket email
@@thatdallastx7861 that’s odd. What they had me do was just record the data logs, and plug the device back into my computer, open the app, and the logs should just automatically upload. Then I just emailed them and told them they were uploaded. Maybe clarify that with them because to my knowledge that is still the process
Great video man! Getting mine this week was either getting the rtd+ or the lrx. After watching this video definitely gonna be going with the lrx.
Yea man the LRX is sweet man. I still like HP tuners but if you only want to run Lund tunes the LRX is great.
The gen 3 coyote stock runs on 93 octane. That is the fuel used to get the MPG rating
Correct
@@Driven2Review so does the tune just move the power to the lower RPM and that is all, or nothing at all and just a placebo? Thanks
@@mtnbikerva1 I’m not too sure what you’re asking, are you asking how the time adds power to the car? If so, tuning a N.A. car adds timing to the engine to add power basically. With e85 it’s the same concept but it can add way more power to the car from the octane of e85. But with standard 91/93 you still gain power just from telling the engine to work harder basically
@@Driven2Review without a London tune, or somebody else’s tune and extra money spent on the tune, doesn’t the car from the factory already come with the ability to advance and delay the timing? The car from the factory will already run on 93 octane so what does the tune give us of value?
@@mtnbikerva1 tuning alone adds power, Lunds tune adds about 16 HP/tq to the wheels. It also improved the automatic transmission performance, which I found to be awesome. Much faster and smoother. The Mustang stock won’t change any sort of timing ever, as it doesn’t have an octane sensor, which is why you can’t use 87 without knocking. The engine just runs as it’s tuned from factory
So do you need to drive in a certain way after you rest the KAM ? Or just drive the car for sometime? Also did it go away completely after that ?
Just drive pretty smooth, no pulls, revs, or blips. And yea they went away for bout 3-4k miles. Sometimes it’s a little finicky and I’ll re do it every so often
@@Driven2Review Thanks and I read that you can actually turn it off completely and don’t need to reset it again
@@Waleed-ts9bm I would be super interested in learning how to do that! Do you have a link or anything on where you found that out?
@@Waleed-ts9bm I did some research into that, it seems like a questionable idea, I was looking into trying it but saw that only a tuner can do it in a tune, but also read doing so can cause for a worse performing trans. If you try it please let me know the results!
@@Driven2Review it went away after resetting everything but I feel it will come back. Honestly will just keep doing the rest don’t wanna play with fire after what you said. It’s crazy that they didn’t come up with a solution for it
That jerk you are feeling is the converter unlocking on decel
It’ll come back after a while.
It comes back after oil changes for me and then goes away after a while, so on so forth
does the device turn off by itself after a while? i’m scared that if i leave it plugged in it’ll drain my battery
Yes, it does, I’ve noticed that if you leave the gauge window open, it will stay on sometimes. Just don’t leave the gauge window open.
Like the new sound!
Definitely explained way better than anyone else does, I have a 2024 so it’s not as easy tapping into the speakers , and I’m still a little confused on how the loc works and what wires to tap into and all that stuff, but I’m also not interested in paying one of these shops 300-500 $ for an install if it looks this simple, just need to get around the confusion and loc work, everything else I’ve worked with a lot like your power wire running, amp connections etc , but my brain loses me at the loc work, great explanation though , i hope I can eventually just figure it out so I don’t have to pay a shop!
It’s not that hard I have a 24 gt and it’s pretty straight forward
@@MrdrSheRote yea dude it’s straight forward, can be a little time consuming but fun (at least for me). I’m actually thinking about replacing all the speakers in my car, so stay tuned for that
If you're not very familiar with installing a Line Output converter, it may be best to have a reputable shop install your system. This way you're taken care of, they do the work, and you got the sound you wanted. Also research Audio shops of course before you take it in.
Great video!! It’s my first time messing with a tuner and my LRX has been sitting in the box with me hesitant about destroying my car. You gave me the confidence i needed. Heading into my garage now
How’d it go? I can tell you to not worry about destroying your car haha. As long as you don’t drive it like it’s stolen 24/7 you won’t have an issue compared to as if it was stock
can i use my hp chromebook or does it have to be a laptop that runs windows.
You should be fine, I’d check with Lund to make sure though
Just so you know a coffee can won’t work Ima California smog tech We know what cats look like We know what oem cats look like We know what aftermarket cats look like We know if the cat has been removed before etc. So your not tricking anyone More so you get lucky if someone is lazy
Example if I see cats that don’t look like they came on the car(coffee can) or any aftermarket cat I go under and look for the eo number to match in the arb website So never will you trick someone just we get lazy after doing 60+ smogs every day
Oh I just meant for mirror roadside inspections not for smog My cats are a 2 bolt flange so I can just bolt the cats back on, right?
I just ordered mine says track The multi tune is shipped ? I thought it was just gonna be another tune sent ?
Weird, double check your purchase receipt and tell me what it says exactly. I know it takes them a day or two to get it sent. What device do you have?
I have the lrx Just got my final e85 tune So I ordered the multi tune 450$ It says “Thank you for your order from Lund racing store.once your package ships we will send you a tracking number. You can check the status of your order logging into your account.”
@@Coyote.Collector I think I got that too. They should email you a confirmation once the tune is uploaded
I like it more than I expected but still think it’s pretty gimmicky.
Yea basically that’s all it is. It’s really not practical to drive on so it’s really just for show
Your car already shows trans temp and fuel level
It does not show exact fuel level which you need to know for doing E blends, and yes it does show the trans temp in the “gauges” menu
Any updates ? Did it ever do it again? What was the final fix you did?
Yes this fixed my problem. Any time you flash a tune, drive the car very conservatively for 100 ish miles. My problem completely went away

Very cool!
Another way to confirm your ethanol content if you don't have a test kit or flex fuel sensor is to simply check your LTFT. The tune can be setup to allow you to change the fuel with the engine running for up to 60 seconds, you can then adjust the fueling with the engine running until your LTFT reaches within +- 3%. Please test this at idle and also at light load 3000 rpm with the engine running to confirm that you have correctly set the ethanol content. Finally it takes about 10 minutes for a returnless system to empty the DFI pump and fuel rails at idle, so ensure you do some light driving before attempting to hone in the ethanol content. We highly recommend a flex fuel sensor (with or without CAN BUS integration) to confirm your ethanol reading.
This is exactly what I needed to know! I couldn’t figure out what the ethynol sensor was called, thank you so much! Love the tune, the stuff you guys make is awesome 👏
@@Driven2Review If you are interested in the CANBus flex fuel kit Lund can enable it for you in the tune (its a single switch). The "failed" state without the kit installed is exactly as you have it now with user adjustment. You can then build/install the kit at your own leisure. HPJ Performance in Florida make their own kits and may sell you one. Alternatively contact our support for the reference design and bill of materials if you are interested in building your own (it uses the Zeitronix ECA-2)
@@PCMTECTuning just left HPJ a voicemail! So does the sensor hook up to the cars ECU or is there some way to plug it into my LRX gauge?
It wires directly into the CANBus system. Depending on the year of the car it may wire into a sandwich plate on your obd port or they may make an intercept harness behind one of the many HS1 CAN modules in the car. We can send you our reference design if you email us.
What does the LTFT read outs mean? Mine says 4% but what does that translate to?
For future reference you can disable the chimes via Forscan or simply put your seatbelt on, handbrake off, ensure doors shut.
I ended up figuring out the seatbelt thing. Thank you guys so much! This is my second car with a tune utilizing PCMTEC and they’re amazing
@@Driven2Review From memory you can disable the seatbelt chime by plugging your seatbelt in 8 times in a row with your foot on the brake and some other magic combination. Im sure it'll be on google somewhere!
Yup and people who know hate it.

I recommend giving Alex Flores's Gen 3 build series videos a watch for the best info on mods for the Gen 3 for your goals with the car. For intake, PMAS has some of the cleanest data. I have a PMAS with Lund 91/93 tune in my Gen 2 and it has lived happy. Never any hiccups and it has been tuned by Lund since 2018 and the car now has a little over 60k miles, almost all miles on the car are with Lund tunes. I ran their E85 tune when I lived in CA and E85 was available at the pumps. I am stuck with 91 where I live now, but the car is still very happy.
Thank you for the rec! I’ll definitely check that out
how long did it take to get after you ordered it? i’ll be ordering within the week so was just curious
Well I ordered after they had shut down for the week for Christmas, after that maybe 3 days? They’re pretty fast. As long as they’re in stock
I still have my Ngauge and my only complaint is the few mins it takes to swap between my 93 tune and the 93 ghost cam tune. Mines a manual car but it drives fine with the ghost cam tune, no different than my other cammed cars. Low rpm’s are finicky as expected. But once the revs get a little over 1000 it’s pretty smooth.
That’s what I hear. This is one of the reasons I sort of wish I would’ve gotten a manual. I hear they just tend to run better overall
You can get the ghost cam setup to idle higher if you want. Lund have refined it quite a bit in the last year, with the PCMTEC multitune it is setup to slow how fast the VCT swings at idle so it takes ~3-5 seconds to blend the ghost cam in, this prevents any stalling issues when switching with the engine running. With a 10 speed you can turn it on and off repeatedly without any stalling issues. We have set up on our own test car a "staged" ghost cam which is progressively more aggressive. This is not something Lund offer that I am aware of but it can be done.
@PCMTECTuning can this multitune ghost cam function be applied to a 2016 GT350?
