@@EPCWiltshire I'm currently on Economy 7 and have an old dual rate meter, In fact before I moved into the house the old Dimplex Storage Heaters were removed and replaced with Fischer Radiators. I do have an Immersion Heater (Hot Water Cylinder) but I have an electric shower so it actually ends up being wasteful as it only supplies warm water to two taps. I was thinking about getting rid of it and changing to an instant tankless heater for those taps which would be more efficient than heating a whole tank. I'm not sure I will buy Dimplex Quantum Storage heaters, one they are very expensive and two they have the same issue as a hot water cylinder, You use a lot of energy to charge them up and end up not using the released heat because you got called out for something etc. I wanted to switch to Economy 10 but no one will entertain this tariff now and I can't get a Smart Meter in my area due to signal issues to try Cozy Octopus. As it stands Economy 7 isn't much use to me sadly.

The most efficient replacement for a very efficient Elson 600e is almost exactly the same technology . A pressurised hot water cylinder with dual immersion these new ones have the equivalent of 50mm spray foam insulation this is the same as an elson tank if entered correctly on an epc the only improvement would be a reduction in lime scale within the tank and an increased capacity also the immersions still work in the same away

If there is more then one type of storage heaters present the correct way of entering them in rdSAP (epc) is to have 2 primary main heating systems and a % is allocated the different type with the primary 1 heating being the lounge heater In rdsap there are Old Large volume quite rare and may contain asbestos Modern slim line eg dimplex xl xls xt Combined eg dimplex CXL or dimplex duo Fan assisted eg dimplex fxl High Heat Retention Storage Heaters HHRSH eg dimplex quantum Hope that helps

Good question, it is quite well insulated based on it being timber framed the builded date and then build regs of that time period and also the fact it is a mid terraced house so only 2 external walls.
