I have added Neel grips to my 41's and I shoot the guns with my left thumb just behind the Aimpoint red dot on top of the frame in a way that does not touch the slide. The thumb is at a 45 degree angle to the barrel. As you mentioned the trigger is very crisp at about 2.5 lbs. The Clark barrel is more accurate than the factory barrel, in my opinion. There is no difference between the Performance pistol and the standard model, except the Performance has a red dot rail along the top part of the frame. The only better trigger, in my opinion, comes with the Atlas Gunworks 2011 models in 9 mm.

Take the blade out and put it in oven at 300 degrees for 2 hours let cool completely then repeat. After blade is cool re instal and try sharpening. It should be much better. The reason for me suggesting this is that particular blade may have gotten a bad heat treat or was not properly anealed. Good luck

Rather than a bigger knife, learn to make a quick wedge with your knife. You can then process larger diameter pieces of wood. Just start your cut with the knife, then use the wedge. Can even use 2-wedges, if you're clever. Once you get the hang of it this can be a fast and easy operation. This Caas 10 is about as good as it gets for bush knives.

It is considered the best here in the US. Everything is compared to it as it is the standard of excellence. You are a lucky man to have one, because of the price, not many people have them unless they are very serious or money is no consequence. Try taping something on the back of the grip until you get the size of what you want to fit your hand. Then if you are not able to produce a grip yourself, you can get a custom grip company to duplicate your measurements to fit you. There are a few companies that already make after market and competition grips for this gun and some are adjustable, in the competition models. Good luck with your 1911 project. Even if you don't get the exact gun you desire, the aftermarket has whatever you need to make it what you need. BTW., your English is better than some of the people I know that were born and raised here.

Honestly you’re not going to like barkrivers customer service. Here in the states consumer service tends to over looked. I have a bravo 1 cpm3v it is a great knife but it isn’t good for food preparation and if you aren’t familiar with sharpening a convex edge in the field it might not be a good option. Tops knives has outstanding customer service and a large selection of knives. I have a condor Wayfinder I really enjoy but out of the 3 knives I’ve bought from condor it’s the only one that didn’t have catastrophic problems in their quality. The knife I will never leave my house without is my Lars Falt knife. I can recommend checking out the Wayfinder but I 100% suggest purchasing a Lars Falt knife.

With that being said, I haven’t used the Fält, only held it when I was deciding which one to get.

      @andrimnerofsweden2615 Рік тому

Hej! SFK betyder Swedish Forrest Knife.

Awesome looking knives. Really want to try that handle out. But the prices currently on no 10’s have skyrocketed. A comment about bark rivers: I have had a few bark rivers, in CPM3. Bravo1, bravo LT and bravo 1.25 LT. Beautiful knives, my favorite part were the coke bottle handles. The LT in particular the handle is not too thick. BUT, i sold them all in order to buy more lower priced knives in different Grinds, and different steels in order to assess myself what works best for me. The bark rivers all chipped after use in new england woods (sandy coastal woods). So i figured if i use my knives to the point of microchips i shouldnt use expensive supersteels. 14C28Stainless, 1095, n695, 80CRV are all easier to get back to razor sharp, and to get microchips and rolls out. There is no shame in carrying more than one knife. I would recommend a cold steel SRK to bring out with your beautiful casstrom. The SRK will give the the length to process wood and is extremely light for your pack and very cheap $$.

I hope your knife issues worked out. I saw your video on how you destroyed your Spyderco Tenacious. I just ordered the S35VN Tenancious for U.S. $75, a deal which seemed to good to pass up. Sounds like a good replacement for the Tenancious would have been the Spyderco Manix 2 with the combo blade (regular version S30v, G10 scales). There's a few Zero Tolerance, Cold Steel, and other Benchmade knives, but many are too military, but some are more subdued. A Cold Steel Recon 1 comes in combo blade, takes a beating, is pretty thin, but screams TACTICAL. I love my CS Code 4, beautiful, thin, sizable S35VN clip point blade. A ZT 0350 would be good, they have combo blades and at a time were down to U.S. $135. Recurve blade a bit tricky to sharpen. I would love to see you destroy one of those. Maybe military-esque, but I don't think it is overly large. BM Griptillian is a great knife, and usually they are dumping the combo edges cheap. Lots of more "friendly" colors. Comfy in hand, but a little more round in pocket. If your fancy gent aluminum Bugout didn't workout you could likely sell it for a pretty penny - if you didn't already. I have one. I love it. Dutch Bushcraft guys like 'em too.

Thanks man. I have actually gotten over the initial ”it is too dainty” feeling, and now I carry it pretty much every day. It is a great knife. The thin blade is very different from what I am used to for sure, but I like it now, and it sure is a nice looking knife. I was considering the mini Adamas, but it is truly too tactical and would draw attention. This one looks…happier:

I have both a 1979 vintage and a 2020 vintage performance center version. There are, of course differences, but are no significant reductions of quality. Interestingly I have a couple of around 2016 new upper assemblies (e-Bay) with different barrel configurations and lengths and they fit perfectly on either even though the 1979 vintage was well prior to computerized manufacturing techniques. The performance center models seem to only offer different variations not quality differences. My 1979 is very particular about magazine tuning.

Mine is also a 79. Only wants CCI SV ammo. And the mag release is giving me some sleepless nights. But there is no doubt the quality is superb. How do you tune the mag?

Thank you for this, I did a lot of looking, reading, listening to videos and this was one that tipped me over the edge. I bought the stainless version (it's very wet in the UK, even in summer) in green micerta and I LOVE IT. thanks for your honest, in depth and most importantly long term review

Thanks! I hope you will get as much use of it as I have mine. I put a slight convex grind on mine, and I can honestly say that for my use it is the best knife I own. The carbon steel version doesn’t rust very easily, it is pretty wet here too, but I protect mine with WD40.

@@andrimnerofsweden2615 I do wonder if I should have gone with a carbon blade but ultimately I think there is a big argument over which is best but not that much real world difference! Thank you again!

@@jaysee2213 For me, ease of sharpening and toughness (I baton a LOT) put me on the carbon side of the argument. I have a stack of mora stainless ones if I need that, but I am not one of those “it has to be this way” kind of guys (well. Maybe a little). But the carbon steel in this one does take a scarily acute edge and holds it forever.

@@andrimnerofsweden2615 yeah, I try use my axe for splitting and just baton when they're too small to safely use the axe. I do featherstick a lot though. Got to be honest I'm impressed with how well this holds an edge, then once it won't shave a quick strop and it will shave again which is amazing. Maybe once the Mrs has had long enough to get over the "another knife???", scenario I might get a woodsman in carbon 🤣 then try convince her why it's needed

@@jaysee2213 I only have one eye, so I have put a rule in place for myself, to only use axes that are too big for one handed use, lest I get tempted to use one hand and chop myself in the other. So I use bigger knives, and rarely axes when I am out.

Inga problem. Skall göra en video på den uppdaterade bilen, nu verkar den hålla rätt mycket bättre, men det har kostat en hel del och tagit en jäkla tid. Satsa på en Traxxas istället, i slutändan är det ingen skillnad i pengar.

People who haven’t shot a Model 41 have really missed a great opportunity for fun at the range! I’ve owned a couple of these and currently own a 7” version made around 5 years ago and it functions and groups as well as any from past decades; Smith changed their bluing specs though and the finish is simply not as deep. I grew up shooting and this pistol allows me to enjoy range time while not abusing the bank account, LOL! I’m glad you were able to get that pistol, having a family gun is special, enjoy!

I have small hands for a dude, and my bugout bit my palm the same way at first. I learned to adjust my grip and that helps alot. Also a short lanyard can help with that by moving the knife little farther from the palm. I love the knife, but you do pay for that logo. {edit} I don't spell good.
