A short video of my 2013 Jeep Wrangler leaking water through the front door gasket. My Dealer installed TSB 23-010-13 which didn't resolve the issues. I'm taking the Jeep back to the dealer for them to fix it again.

I installed aftermarket headlights (Reflectors and bulbs) from a major manufacturer of lighting equipment. I filmed the before and after to see if they were more effective. i drove for 13minutes, at 11:30pm. What the camera picked shocked me. When comparing with the video of the stock headlamps, stock seemed to be more effective. www.franksjk.com

A highlight of the changes to the Jeep Wrangler from 2012 model year. New wheels on Sahara and Rubicon models, LED cup holder and footwell lighting, dual windshield washer nozzles, premium tire monitoring system, dual note horn, auto dimming mirror with map lights, alpine sound system, new seat material and designs. Trailer sway dampening is also standard but not pictured. I excluded the specia...

I know this video is old but thought I would comment. My 2016 JK is leaking in the same spot as yours. So far I have replaced all four door seals, musket seal on the driver's side B pillar, the seal that runs the width of the Jeep where the large hardtop meets the freedom panels and have added a LOT of extra weather stripping. Guess what? Still leaking. I gave up and pulled the carpet and will live with it. What was the cause and was it ever fixed?

Remember the fasters... 2 in the foot well on each side and one under each seat that connects the front/back carpeting.

An old post but it came up on the 1st page of a search, so still worth a comment. Here's what I understand so far on it: The water flows across the sill near the hinges, so it looks like it's coming in from under the door. Jeeps leak in other places too, but I'm only talking about this one common issue. It's a design problem, so taking it to the dealer doesn't necessarily fix it. The dealer will follow the factory fix, which is to replace the seal around the door. If you look at the post by the windshield, just above the hinge, there's a plastic piece that's held on by a push pin. The push pin looks like a button. That pin isn't flush with the surface, so it creates a tiny gap under the door seal. Not at first, but with repeated opening and closing of the door. That's why it always happens on the driver's side. Fast, simpler, cheap and actually works: get a roll of canopy tape or weatherstripping tape. (Sticky on one side) Either get the 2" stuff and just cover the offending area, or else get something narrower and run it all the way from the top of the door to the drainage gap at the bottom. There are UA-cam vids showing both methods. I tried the first way with a short bit of tape and it worked. But I'm going to take that off and do it the second way because it looks better. To me, the localized piece looks hokey. A piece of weatherstripping all the way down will look like it's supposed to be there.

Same Here Brother! I've spent weeks and many hours chasing leaks. By far after owning 6 Jeeps including owning a real AMC Jeep CJ and AMC Jeep Cherokee. This by far is the worse quality vehicle i've ever owned. This wrangler has been the worse in quality, craftsmanship, assembly, cheap parts and garbage reliability. NEVER AGAIN CHRYSLER WILL I EVER BUY OR RECOMMEND A JEEP AGAIN. The EXCUSE of "its a jeep" is OVER. See my you tube of my leak. Its on a seam for petes sake! ua-cam.com/video/aytPzVDyCd4/v-deo.html

No leaky horror stories but my dog got car sick and vomited like crazy. Will definitely be taking all the seats out to do this tho. It's about time for a deep clean anyway. Probably a plethora of dirt and shit under it.

I have a one year old JKU (2016 model). It came with the hardtop and leaked two times while parked and pointing up hill. I just installed a premium soft top and it is leaking one both sides where the front door meets the windshield surround. Not sure what that's called, but it is a good leak. Grr.

I hope my story helps new individuals facing this problem. Picked-up my 2012 wrangler brand new in Dec of 2011 at the dealer in NYC. About 1-2 years in I noticed both front floorboard carpets soaked. Did my research and found is a pandemic issue of varying degrees with Jeeps. Took it back to the dealer and they so "fixed it.." the warranty covered it. Didn't notice the issue again until this spring of 17 when again both front carpets were soaked - it has rained a lot in NYC recently. I took it in for inspection, maintenance, and to get the water intrusion fixed, but on the latter the dealer said that my warranty had expired (5+ years), albeit my mileage being just 19K, and that it would cost $200 to diagnose. I began doing due diligence on extended warranty which I was going to get anyway. Sorted through a bombardment of 3rd parties that sell warranties using the name of Chrysler. Be careful with those!! Eventually spoke to Mopar directly and got a quote albeit high. In the process found that the first hand Mopar extended warrantee DOES NOT cover water intrusion problems since these are considered wear and tear issues. I found the Chrysler/Jeep customer service number and called them (800-521-9922). They answered fast and the lady I spoke to was very pleasant. I explained my issue. She gave me a case number and assigned a case worker, then I made an appointment for the service center at the dealer again (next week May 3rd), called back Jeep and gave them my appt date/time. The lady told me that while the warranty is expired, and I might have to pay for something TBD, having a case worker assigned to it by Jeep helps track repeat problems and they might be able too do something for me (that she couldn't do herself over the phone). The case worker will work with the dealer on this. I will see what happens next week. In the mean time, I have found the trajectory the leak takes: it appears the water source accumulates in the side ridge of the freedom top panels, then drips into the edge of the door (front rim) where the weather strip water conduit/plumbing (plastic tube inside the strip) should divert water to the lower rim of the door and drip it out through holes in the padding. HOWEVER, midway through the GASKET that covers the joint of the windshield, hood, and door when it's shut, seems to be where the water infiltrates, then runs down INSIDE along the side, and lands in the bottom where it leaves clear water marks before it falls on the floor. SO...buying extended warranty before the factory one expires is recommended for lower cost (and leverage) , but it does not cover the water intrusion. DO CALL JEEP and have a case assigned!! for any help they can give and to document properly this ongoing problem affecting Jeep owners...

I have a 2014 Rubicon and was leaking on driver side. They replaced the seal on top of the windshield. It has worked but now its leaking on the drivers side by the seat belt mounts in between the doors. I took pictures and taking it in soon. Will let you know if they fix

I have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, same issue. I was a "lemon" buy back. I found rubber cement between the gasket and door sealed it in my situation. I can't say it will work in all situations. My RH freedom top would fill with water after a rain. The back edge took in water some how. Once sealed, no leak.

the water comes from the foam , on the channels that separate roll bar from door.. I took mine off and change it out with a FRIGERATER foam 1/4 in thick ..has drastically reduced my water ISSUE .. I it can rain for several days now .. it just gets damp . no more squishy floor
