The saltiest sea in Israel (and the world) || The Dead Sea
Переглядів 3893 роки тому
The Dead Sea is the lowest place on Earth, with the highest concentration of salt. To swim in it, is an extraordinary experience, with beautiful mountains, crazy salty water. The salty water is known for its healing properties and relaxation. This week, I continue my journey in Israel, and I'm going to visit the dead sea, together with my family. On the way, we're visiting Abu Gosh, arguably th...
Belgrade Airport to Ben Gurion (Tel Aviv, Israel) || Travel in 2021
Переглядів 3,8 тис.3 роки тому
How is flying from Belgrade Airport to Tel Aviv Airport look like in 2021? It took 10 hours more than usual, I had to do a test on every stop, and prepare a ton of documentation, but it finally happened! I'm flying to Israel through London's Heathrow airport. I finally got the necessary permits and booked a flight. The trip required a lot of documentation, paperwork, tests, and hours upon hours...
Divcibare and Crni Vrh - Mountain for beginners || Exploring Serbia
Переглядів 2,3 тис.3 роки тому
This week we're exploring the Divcibare area, Hotel Crni Vrh and the Crni Vrh mountain. Visiting a ski town in the spring creates an extra special environment. Divcibare is less popular than Kopaonik or Zlatibor, but that actually makes it a more intimate and quiet place, perfect for a weekend getaway, or for beginner skiers to learn to ski. The area has a lot of beautiful hiking trails, and fu...
Belgrade - Europe's Hidden Gem || Exploring Serbia

This week we're staying home and exploring the old town of Belgrade. We've done already 8 videos in Serbia, and none of them have been about Belgrade - so it's time to fix this! This first video is dedicated to the Old Town (Stari Grad), what to see, what to do, where to eat. We'll continue with other parts of Belgrade over time - and we're always waiting to hear from you - what you'd love to s...
Castle Fantast, Sombor and Cafe de Sol || Exploring Serbia

This week we go to the beautiful city of Sombor, Serbia and on the way, we stop at Fantast Castle. We've been super lucky because we even caught a wedding at Fantast, which only added to the beauty of the place. Sombor is a small city, but it's a lovely overlooked place in Serbia. And we even have our friend Tamara joining us for this week's adventure, and our dog, Arsa! 00:00 - Intro 02:09 - A...

We continue our travels in Serbia's Vojvodina, and arrive to Subotica, a beautiful city in the north of Serbia. It's city hall is a masterpiece of Art Nouveau, it's famous for it's delicious food, and wine cellars. It also has the most beautiful Synagogue in the world, that unfortunately we missed, but we've seen plenty of other things. From there, we go to Palić, famous for it's lake, and spa,...

Close to Drvengrad there's a very old train station where you can get on a very old train and basically go nowhere in particular but just ride the train for fun and history. This is the second part of the holiday we took in Western Serbia. Šarganska Osmica is a historical railroad that had the first train travel it in 1925. This was an important railroad as it connected the Adriatic sea and Bel...

Serbia is still under lockdown. We gave up all hopes of going to the seaside for a holiday, but pretty soon we figured out that we should not despair and that the mountains are incredibly beautiful in the summer too. We settled on a trip to Drvengrad. Drvengrad, also know as Mećavnik or Kustendorf, is an ethno village resort. The famous movie director Emir Kusturica built this little village fo...

A message to the deluded Monkeydonian trolls that fantasize about shaking their Slavic identity for an ancient Hellenic one. Have a good read Vulgari. Unfortunately your fake, Slavic, TITO fabricated history, isn't recognised or taught anywhere. Unless you include the fake nation, that just changed its name and agreed to stop using ancient Macedonia symbols. A few facts for you importer 1) You are a Slav probably Bulgarian, 2) Your invading, past occupiers' now are buried deep in Macedonia , and fertilize our crops nicely, 3) we are still MACEDONIA , no name change requested or required. 4) Bitola is a Greek city called Heraclea , it belongs to Greece.
Neko iz Srbije 🇷🇸😁 👇
Naravno
I was born in Subotica (Szabadka)
Hai
You mean Solun.
What is Solun?
@@PlanetPursuit That’s how in Republic of Macedonia we call Thessaloniki, other Slavs call it so too,Greeks just renamed it.
@@tunf5414 only in slavic languages it is called like that, including your native bulgarian language that you speak. Internationally it is called Thessaloniki and before that Selanik, your republic is North Macedonia but in greek we call it Monkeydonia
Well, the romans actually conquered Greece in the 2nd century BC. And Thessaloniki even had a jewish community around 1st century BD. I hope they're gone by now ... You might want to learn a little bit more history :) ...I'm just joking.
Your name is actually Greek, Ancient Greek name(Dimitra/Δήμητρα in Ancient Demeter/Δημήτηρ for female and Δημήτριος/Dimitrios or Dimitris for the males). Dimitra/Demeter was the ancient Greek goddess of the harvest and agriculture.
Wherever you dig in Greece you will find ancient findings and it's one of the main reasons why many projects are delayed. These are everywhere, literally.
the romans was in greece after they beat the macedon in 166bc because they allied themselves with karthage. greeks became roman soon after and continued to be romans for the next 1600 years until the fall of constantinople in 1453 when the last roman emperor constantinos palailogos died fighting. he had a serbian mother btw with name helena dragassi and she was the daughter of the serbian king konstantin dejanovic. even today greek refer to themselves as romans (rhomaios) , especially in christian and church matters.
First time I was there was 1981 and since 2014 four more times. I am pureblood so no more till the government stops treating me like a leper
Such a biased video, fixated on the negative aspects so much that it ignores the positive ones (which city doesn't have both) and made some glaring, easily searchable mistakes, bordering misinformation. Oh well, haters gonna hate.
We weren't trying to "review" Thessaloniki, but rather share our experience and the things we liked/disliked based on our experience. Where we come from, there aren't such scammers in the streets, so it was surprising to see. The city is nice, but to be honest, as much as I love Greek islands, I don't like Greek cities. Neither Athens nor Thessaloniki.
Did you arrive to Israel on a weekend day or a weekday? How much did you pay for the PCR test at the airport? Thanks.
I'm moving to Thesaloniki next week and this video is upseting me.
Why does it upset you?
🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍
never call that food souvlaki in thessaloniki, thats what they call it in the south, and salonikians hate the south. On northern greece its gyros
If it wasnt for the president id love my country even tho it makes me uncomfortable to talk abauth it when people ask where im from
I fish at de sol and my mom worked there
we bored of the rulers in greece , like goverment and stuff.. ancient things are cute :) hello from greece :D
How much cost taking a boat there? Amazing!
Funny thing , during the metro excuvations, they found 300.000 ancient items and a buried city as a whole with baths, aisles and columns, mosaics etc. Byzantine,Roman and Hellinistic history
Thenks bro I'm Serbian and I love people ho love Serbia
Me too!
Vrdnik is not just a village, it's an emotion!
Very nice video. One correction. Hagia Sophia wasn't a mosque that became an Orthodox church. It was build as an Orthodox church and then was transformed into a mosque and after the liberation of the city it became again a church. Most of the mosques (if not all) that were in Thessaloniki were Byzantine churches before. The actual buildings of the ottomans were some baths and towers for the city defence. Thank you
Thank you for sharing this, now it makes a lot more sense!
@@PlanetPursuit My pleasure❤
how beautiful this is, village is definitely worth visit to take a rest and enjoy calm moments
Very good video! Nice people, you should visit them more often, I think 😂
Thank you, we will!
@@PlanetPursuit 🇧🇸🇪🇹🇪🇹
You should really do a separate video about ice cream in Serbia which I find to be just as good as in Italy. Especially if you can find one of the old school ice cream parlors run by an Albanian.
Oh yeah, definitely! We'll try to do it. Any suggestions for specific places?
@@PlanetPursuit well, you mentioned the best one already - crni ovcar on kralja petra. Otherwise I was more thinking in general, there is just a lot of good ice cream in Serbia (and the Balkans overall).
8:55 you have no idea. The reason the city doesn't have a metro station is because they find ruins everywhere they dig and for so many years there have been discussions about whether they should move these ruins to museums or not. The plan for the metro station started in 1989 and it's still not done to this day. Some stations are finished though. It's said to be completely done and running by the end of 2023.
Beautiful video 🇬🇷❤️
Thank you! 😃
This video has many inaccuracies.
How can a video of 2 people just exploring a city have inaccuracies? :-)
@@PlanetPursuitThere are inaccuracies in what you're saying during your exploring, but it's obvious it wasn't on purpose, so never mind, I'm glad you had a nice time.
Constantinople no Istanbul
Constantinople is called Istanbul today. It's the same city, just the name was changed.
@@PlanetPursuit yes we know this...but to us greeks it feels like calling a black person a niher
Ah, I'm sorry, we didn't know this! We'll be more aware in the future!
@@PlanetPursuit it's no problem just saying I know you are not Greek...but imagine having a son..someone kidnaps the son and changes the name...to you the son will always have the real name
My love to Serbia! I hope you had a nice time in my city!
Thank you! Yeah, we loved Thessaloniki!
Thank you for visiting Thessaloniki.. You can visit Larissa the city of coffee and ancient history too😃😃
Sounds great! Definitely will try to visit it next time!
Thank you for the video! I only have a paper vaccine card. Do you know how they validate these? Do they just look at the card or do they have a system? Mine can not be scanned
They are scanning them, but I think that you could use the paper one as well. Now they finally let non-Citizens in as well, so now would be the perfect time to go.
Great video, really like the images, however have to tell you (as a tip, not as criticism) I am having great difficulties understanding David. I really had to switch on the subtitles of UA-cam in order to understand what he was saying. Jelena was a bit better, but for the both of you I would like to suggest to focus a bit more on pronunciation of the English language, it will help getting more views Also, think what you want to say before you say it. If you are at a monastery it would be nice if you know the name and where it is. Sounds a bit weird to say that it is a monastery, church or a chapel. Same goes for saying that you are on top of Corfu, while we can see left and right hills that are much higher. if you want to take your channel to the next level these are items you want to pay attention to. If you just want to save these videos as a memory of your travels..................forget all above. 😀
Thank you Dave! This was actually our first video shot (even though it was almost the last one published), so I hope that we've gotten better at it over the time. Those vlogs for us are more for fun, and as a way to save a memory, like you said, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to make them as best as possible! Researching in advance - also, we've gotten better at it, but still far from being really good, as we usually shot the videos while exploring a new place. But maybe we could add some titles with the name of the place, or other such things. Thank you so much for your comments!
Wow your name is Dimitri and you’re Jewish! That means Thessaloniki is your home! Saint Demetrius whom you’re named after lived and martyred in this city in the place of the church you visited and Thessaloniki used to be the largest Jewish city after Jerusalem(population-wise) until WWII. It had a very large population of Sephardi Jews. There’s a museum you can visit about it and you can learn more about the history of the city inside the White Tower. I hope you guys had a great time! Thank you very much for appreciating good old Thessalonica! I hope you’ll come visit again soon!❤️
Oh wow, that's super interesting! It's a shame we didn't know this when we visited the city, but I'll make a note of it for next time, and will definitely visit the museum! Thank you!
I am from Thessaloníki. During summer, you see many scammers. They approach tourists mostly. They know we locals won't fall for their shit. You must be cautious, and please avoid big crowds. There are no pickpockets but please be cautious. Exchange places are fair,so you won't have any problem if you need to exchange money, but don't forget that Thessaloniki is a wonderful city
If there are so many, what do the police do to stop them?
@@UKVeteran2024 Because you can't possibly know when they will get out or where
Can I ask you how Thessaloniki is in the end of September is there still good nightlife?
@@mvrchamakh5117 Greeks are fun people

Shame about weather, was there last Saturday, it was about 7c on arrival, within 30 minutes it was 21c, crazy, weather remained glorious and we went on 🚆train, great views. Loved it, then back to Zlatibor to ride golden gondola. Been home 5 days, back to Belgrade in 3 days see my gf
Oh yeah, we've been there before and the weather was wonderful! And even this time, the light rain didn't ruin our experience and we really enjoyed our stay there!
@@PlanetPursuit any recommendations for a 2 night stay serbia preferably under 6hrs from Belgrade. We done Albania in August too absolutely beautiful! Saranda, I'm UK my gf is serb I've never seen prices on Mediterranean so cheap. We stayed 7 nights as long drive.
Nice video 🙂👍
