In this episode of Vale + View, we’ll bring you along on Historic Harrisburg Association’s last ever public tour of the old Harrisburg State Hospital in Harrisburg, PA. This psychiatric hospital opened in 1851 and closed in 2006, and most of the buildings are slated for demolition in 2025. We’ll share glimpses inside five structures on the hospital site, including Dixmont Cottage, the Green Building, the tunnels under the site, the old chapel, and the administration building.
