Much easier when you're not trying to record by yourself!
For sure helps!
Thanks for this video. Recently I decided to create a small recording studio and have spent HOURS working through microphones and variation in mic placements. I mostly play Taylors (314, 914, 250) and have never really been happy with my tracks. I stopped trying to do anything via the ES2 pickups or amps. I've now settled down to a couple of large diaphragm condenser mics (at 12 fret and lower body) about 12" away. I've recently focused on gain staging and cleaning up things via signal shaping during post processing in the DAW. I'm learning a lot, but it seems like a lot of work. Keep the videos coming and I would like to see more on how you progress. It would also be interesting to see some of the clean-up that is going in at the DAW. Thanks!
Thank you!! Love to hear it man. That's where I lean on my buddy to understand what you're referring to and eager to learn more about it all. There wasn't much clean up at all but maybe ill do a video of the before and after of the mix! Thanks for watching and subscribing. Glad you enjoyed it
nice!!!
damn thats a CRISPY solo
Thanks!
So I have a $1000 Fender Precision and a $279 Squier Precision. The difference in tone (alder v. poplar) is staggering, but there are still some tracks that I reach for the Squier on. I will add that I did replace the Squier pickups immediately with Dimarzio Model J which makes a slight difference
That’s smart, I may do that down the line!
Bro, sorry for being a bore, but could you please tell me the exact name of the bass? I can only find the Sonic version online. Thanks again
Squier is a great bass with great value and quality.
For sure! So far so good
It sounds really good for the price! Since its also a Fender is already a win and plus it looks amazing. Where can I check one?
Thanks! It’s technically a Squier but Fender owns them, it’s a subsidiary lol. They’re pretty much at any guitar shop or big music retailer!
@koltonfreck I knew that haha but the fact that it has the word Fender in it must mean something right? Xd. I own a squier and it's a beautiful guitar, and I can't even think to afford an og fender right now haha, so it really seems like the right choice. Thanks for the review man!
just to say, that is a precision/jazz bass not a p bass... looks good though
@@m-cparadis thank you. Ya it’s got a good finish and the quality ain’t bad at all… since I am not a bass player by trade and wanna get it right, I thought those two terms were interchangeable?
@ no not interchangeable you might actually offend pbass lovers 🤪
@@m-cparadisnoted!😅 They may not like this answer from Google either: A "P bass" and a "precision bass" are essentially the same thing; the term "P bass" is simply a shorthand way of referring to a Fender Precision Bass, which is a type of electric bass guitar known for its single split-coil pickup and characteristic warm, punchy tone, often used in rock, blues, and funk music; "P" stands for "Precision" in this context.
@ p and precision are interchangeable. Pbass and pj bass are not is what i meant
@@m-cparadisA pj bass is build and electronics , this js a p bass, it has a p bass neck and a p bass neck with a j pickup in the bridge
lol misleading title, it's a squier, squier is made by fender, though not fender, different factories, different qc, different everything almost
Lol for real. I clicked this ish so fast like, “they got a $300 Fender now?!” He got me 😂
Of course. Title has been changed for clarity but anyone who knows Fender, knows this already. My bad on not further explaining for those who may not have known. It’s just a subsidiary of Fender.
@@GFMChiefhaha was definitely not trying to clickbait anyone. I can’t stand that as well. Just messed the title up, my bad
Just bought a bd and stumbled on this. Awesome licks brother. Keep up the great work. 👍
Thanks dude!
Sounds great!
Bro you got talent. Very relaxing
Thank you dude!! Hoping to have this song done soon
Just got a blues deluxe and I absolutely love it. I just don’t know if it’s getting too hot or not when I touch the screws right in between the two openings for the tubes. They are hot but they don’t burn my fingers. Also after playing for about two hours the plate underneath of the knobs is also pretty warm, but not enough to burn you.
I also just bought my second BDRI on 11-12-24. Beautiful amp. (Used 2020/21?) Stratocasters, Telecasters, Les Paul (P90s and Humbuckers) ES-335 all sound good through this amplifier. An excellent first tube amp while you wait and save for your ultra dream amps. Celestion Gold 12 sounds good through it. The normal channel circuit is based on the Fender Bassman, if recall correct Search youtube for video called Fender Blues Deville vs Bassman They sound a lot alike.
@ how do I know if it’s getting too hot?
@@CannonMusic05 It's getting warm when the chrome panel gets warm. If the metal is toooo hot to touch. Put it on standby and take a break. Your mileage may vary.
@@Twinhit alright thank you
Made it to 4:10. Dude. Do you know what planet you're on?????
Lol no idea
Great! I love it. I would like to see you do the SRV version!
Did you not use rtv copper max temp gasket maker on the header to seal it? Didn’t hear you mention that at all. Curious if the bike ever had an exhaust leak.
I haven't had any problems with it so far but will probably use the RTV just to be safe
I have a peavey classic 30 too. Used to have a 70's fender twin. Thinking of adding a BD
That Strat is a beaut.
Hi Kolton!!! You couldn’t have picked a better inspiration if you tried. I started listening to them after dark side came out, I was 14. It’s very hard to resist the allure to Mr. Gilmour’s style of playing. To me David is the best that’s ever been, and a close second would be Mr. Beck. Please keep up the good work my friend, you are in great company!!!❤️🙏🏻🎸
Btw, great tone and love your style!
I have a Classic 30 as well and I’m about to trade it for the Blues Deluxe Reissue. I think I’m looking for the same tone characteristics that you were looking for. What do you think? Should I go for it ?
How do you feel about the tones on lower volume ? If I want I can turn my amps up pretty loud every now and then. But not always.
I had a classic 30 for over 20 years + the E112 extension cab which I would have kept forever.. but I eventually blew out some parts inside which would have cost a bit to fix and find the unique parts, according to my amp repair guy. Anyway, this forced me to find a new similar but next step up amp and after much research I ended up getting a BDRI. I’m absolutely loving it. Using the second input mellows it out and it shines with a good pedal selection. The clean channel with the fender reverb is so warm. I recently added the Wampler Tumnus to my board and now can’t stop playing it! I don’t like the drive channel as it almost seems like an afterthought by the designers, but I was spoiled with the incredible drive channel of my 90’s made in USA Peavey Classic 30. This amp is loud and versatile but took me a while to really learn how to get the most out of it, but now I’ve got it right I love it. The clean channel is much cleaner and clearer than the Peavey 30 and with good pedal choices the limitations of the drive channel are overcome. That being said, the drive channel also vastly improves when stacked with additional overdrive and distortion. I still haven’t played an amp in this price category with a better drive channel than a Peavey classic 30. In summary the BDRI is an outstanding amp, superior to the classic 30 in most ways aside from the drive channel. Oh, and it also looks very cool!!
Blah blah blah blah and no sound demo 👎👎👎
It’s literally chaptered out for you. Starts at 5:20
How do you clean the tweed without damaging the coating?
Well done!
I’m tryna get a new GYTR FMF for my bike because I looped it and jacked up the FMF GYTR it has on it 😂
I’ve just fitted a stock yzf 450 pipe to my 2022 wr 450 and it doesn’t slide down the header as far as the stock wr one I can see yours doesn’t either it does clamp and seal though
I’ve actually got an exhaust leak where the header meets the slip on
@@raynorbarnes4713you’re supposed to use rtv copper max temp gasket maker to seal the pipe. Doesn’t look like this guy did it either. I made the mistake of not using it as well. Hope this helps.
I haven't had any problems with it so far but will probably use the RTV just to be safe
The yzf has a rubber washer on the bottom bolt apparently
I had a Peavey Classic 50 and upgraded to a Fender Blues DeVille in the mid-90s. The Fender was a great amp.
How do you compare classic 50 and blues deluxe is deluxe better ?
@@petarzutic1165 @petarzutic1165 Sorry, but I made a typo in my original post. I upgraded to a Blues DeVille, not a Deluxe. The DeVille is a bit like a Bassman (4x10, 60W) but with a master volume. The DeVille had a better clean tone than the Classic 50 had and I liked the sound of the break up of the DeVille. In the 90s, you could still turn up an amp in a bar and not get thrown off stage, so it was easier to judge the capability of an amp than it is now. I wish that I'd kept the Classic 50 and the DeVille because they were both very good amps, but I sold them. I now have a Buddy Guy Chicago Blues Box (clone of Buddy Guy's '59 Bassman) and a Blues Pearl Bluesmaster (a 3x10, 40W clone of a Brown Face Concert).
Is this the YZ450f slip on? I want to get one but everything I see is listed for YZ
Yes this was a slip on for a YZ. Don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure 90% of what will fit for a YZ, will fit for a WR besides plastics, gearing, etc.
Have they improved the dirt channel on the newer amps? I sold mine off after I got an Orange TH30 because the Orange had smooth glassy cleans and very good sounding dirt. I found the dirt side way too harsh on the Fender. I can't forget the very clean and loud punch of the clean side. It is my favorite clean rhythm amp. I might get another one in the future if i don't get a Super Reverb.
Not that I know of! If you're going for clean, for sure this is one of the best options in my opinion!
Bla de bla.
G'day mate, I also have a 2022 wr 450 with a fmf powercore 4 slip on (gytr approved) and the thing bangs like a base drum (which the nabours love not) anyway you forgot about the over flow bolt. In Australia the wr come standard with registration
Ahh yes, wish we had that in the US
I have the same bike! I love it! Just got the new fmf blue anodized muffler with the carbon cap for mine!
You’ve done well. These boxes are the best bang for their buck amps next to the AC 15 C1 from Jazz clean to Thrash. They are great from the word “Ten” and only get better with improved Speakers and a good quality external EQ. Intelligent wiring mods to my mind defeat the purpose and suggest you should of bought a hand wired masterpiece from the get go, but if anyone can’t get a really good sound out of what amounts to the good half of a Twin Reverb with Bassman wiring considerations you should take the Spoons.
Vox AC15C1 is one awesome amp.
Not good for clean, super dark and muddy. Atrocious for distortion. The only good thing about this amp is the reverb.

The Blues Deluxe is crazy loud as well.
I got the fmf too. Its very very loud. Way louder than the yz exhaust, and even louder than my fully opened old ducati. Won't bought it again because of that. I think here, even on closed tracks, i could be possible that they send me home because of that.
It IS loud, however, I did see a much needed improvement in low end torque and really let the bike breathe more. But agreed, not ideal for street use.
I love mine, anyone one know which circuit it is based on? bassman 5f6?
mmm I'm not sure on that one
@koltonfreck heard it was a bass man circuit, and I think that was the most popular one.
Thanks bro I enjoyed I will change in mine
Sounds tough
In Australia if you're on your learners or RE license doing this will make your bike illegal and uninsured, pathetic country
That is so messed up...Sorry to hear. The emission laws on motorcycles and recreation vehicles is out of control.
The reason it makes the bike not approved is the hp increase, learner approved bikes work on power to weight ratio, uncorking a wr450f alone makes it non approved, all to do with power to weight though, not emissions
"Always, always wear a helmet!" But not you bro. Lol.
😅i'm sorry I can't control my 30 year old brother
Should've checked the strainer
Agreed. Definitely will next time. It's had so few rides that it wasn't a major concern. Thanks for watching dude
Sounds great at lower volumes. I use to own one and when I cranked it, it all fell apart. Volume was also really sensitive. Between 1-2 was doable but passed that is when it really flubbed out. 😢
Nice bike, I picked up a 2023 Wr450f last weekend and is road registered. Very happy with it and goes like fuck 👍🇦🇺
WISH they plated them here in the US. They would sell like hot cakes.
Bla, bla, bla 😴😴😴
ua-cam.com/video/XH_aH-uJQpc/v-deo.html Put one of these you can control volume better for apartments and get good breakup.
Is there anything I should know before buying my first tube/valve amp?
Hey there! If you're thinking about getting your first tube/valve amp, here are some things to keep in mind. Tube amps have this amazing warm and dynamic sound, but each model has its own unique tone, so it's worth exploring different options to find the sound you love. Think about how much power you need based on where you'll be playing. They can be a bit more expensive, more maintenance, and heavier compared to solid-state amps, so make sure it fits your budget and needs. Also, tube amps tend to shine when played at higher volumes, so keep that in mind if you mostly play quietly. Never hurts to try a few different models...Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
