So if Lee's mam was there leaving the dolls etc who ties the bodies up in that circle thing? Does she ? Weird, also maybe Longlegs didnt intend to kill Lee and her mam like the others. Maybe Longlegs knew if he went she would agree to do his work with him seeing as Lee was the only thing she had. Of course she'd agree, also the mother already had some doomsday type of belief. I dont know if they are catholic (im catholic) and I didnt really see anything in the movie that suggested that Lee and her mam are specifically catholic over any other christian belief. The targets being catholic however is easy seeing as she dressed up as a nun and said they won a prize from the church. The catholic part could easily just be victims because they would easily trust a nun. I wonder if she was psychic because of the doll, once the dolls head was broken there was some mist that came out of her head. Maybe Longlegs had split his soul into 7 (sort of like the beast from the sea with 7 heads) and her "powers" and connection to him came from that. Maybe the catholic religion was targeted because as catholics the church still actively does exorcism to get rid of evil spirits from someone etc (again only silly little theories). Since the mothe did say "so now his free" or something along those lines. Now that he is out of his human body maybe he can now really begin his evil by taking over people? To me the killings seem to be working up to a larger thing, I think the killings are a ritual of something (some type of sacrifice ) in order for him to be able to once he leaves his human body to have some demonic power. And the reason why he needed Lee's mam to help was to not get caught or to have access to these certain families. The girls being young (and not to sound gross) the girls would be virgins, and its always virgins who are killed in rituals (we know this from like all the horror crap since forever lol). I think the real victims are the kids and the parents are just collateral. OR same theory just slightly different that somehow the ritual requires the fathers to kill them sort of like a more evil version of Abraham and Isaac, God at the end was like "jkjkjk" but a evil version of this would require a father to actually kill the kid(s)......sorry for long info dump....but I think its something like that maybe. I hope we get part 2 ^^

I definitely recommend it! No Jonesy in this one, but absolutely somewhere in the top 3 films of the Alien series.

@@PragmaticAddict I was like no the t9 texting the nervous game the MySpace , aim, the horny friends who think their a ladies man. This is definitely up there with Boyhood Lady bird Mid 90’s Eighth grade The dark knight posts on fb I was missing the twilight references or the Harry Potter stuff

@@kaleahcollins4567I disagree.. this is an indie horror film - Beetlejuice is a Tim Burton film. They’re in two different categories. A24 has a massive following, especially when it comes to their horror films. Plus, these directors are in relation to Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, upcoming Nosferatu) who is a highly respected director working today.
I’ll watch it but I think it looks cheesy in a bad way. Whose idea was it to cast Brandy, though? Lol. Might as well let Jewel and Alanis Morissette have cameos tooo
She seems to be putting on a decent performance here, but we’ll see what we get!

@@forestpark73 it looks different from what I’d typically expect from an Eggers picture, definitely agree with what people are saying how it feels something along the lines of Get Out, with the themes of racism, the dark comedy of it, but with it being from A24, I’m hoping they go really nutso with it lol.

@@SaintsVictory I think it looks interesting. Looks like a good use of dark comedy and unhinged horror, especially with it being a directorial debut from brothers of Robert Eggers, and from A24; I have tons of faith in it.
I have a feeling this has the same plot like The Skeleton Key and Get Out, especially when Brandy says “she wants you to think it was me”.

I’m tired of getting excited for things because it’s supposedly from a good company that’s known for blah blah blah and then the last couples movies from A24 were just ok, nothing special. Been seeing some stuff where he dresses up as a mall Santa, I’m wondering if they’re actually gonna go all out with child kills that horror films don’t generally do. I’m thinking this may actually be the craziest one yet.

@@AnonymousGrogu I definitely see in the very least, musical elements, especially in the first teaser where they’re on stage throughout, and in this one where we actually hear Arthur and gaga singing (which totally makes sense) considering lady Gaga is a singer; I think it’s definitely gonna push the musical elements from the first one in a huge way. Like you said - for a joker sequel period, for (perhaps) a joker 2 (musical) -- this looks great. I’m so curious about zazie beetz’s character! Also- the fact that this has seemingly TWO big moments that may equal to the first film’s MURRAY scene; that being a courthouse AND a show scene has me SO excited!
@@PragmaticAddict absolutely! I’m fine with it having a lot of musical elements. To me, a musical is moreso like Into The Woods, In The Heights, West Side Story, etc where they sing throughout more than speaking if that makes sense 😂 they explain everything going on for the most part while singing. Maybe Todd interprets it that way too. If this was like that, I’d be very skeptical. Them singing on occasion and being drawn together through the theme of music/musical elements, I’m so down for. It just makes sense to me for this interpretation after the first one. This is going to be stunning. And whew, don’t get me started about big moments like the Murray scene because I get way too excited 😂
@@AnonymousGrogu I would agree with you on that, it’s probably not gonna be the whole songs throughout thing like your standard musicals (in the Heights, into the woods) but more so in the obvious duet sense - this being a character like Joaquin phoenix’s joker, and an actress like Lady Gaga in of all worlds - this one.. I think it’s just gonna tune in more so to the atmosphere, and a psychological way like the first one did with centering on Joker wanting to be a comedian, but this one’s (main) theme being, well, music.

@@PragmaticAddict I'm a big fan of both Wolverine and Deadpool, so seeing those two in the same movie is a must see for me. And with the TVA being involved, we might get a post scene about what MCU is up to with Loki. Lots of talk that MCU wants to start a new variant of Loki to give everyone the bad Loki we all still love.

@@eutha6 man- I hear you. There are so many movies that constantly come out that are all the “scariest” and “best” horror film of the year- this met my expectations in pretty much every degree. lol! Maybe I’ll slowly go to the dark side!
Man, my bad guys- I really gotta start watching my videos after I edit them before I put them up smh. At the end of the review, talking on the revenge aspect of the story; I meant to say “you won’t really see that for what it is as an incorporation to the story, as a genre into the movie UNTIL the last act.” That was a very important thing to note and it wasn’t addressed like I intended it to be. in some ways this film felt like a throwback to 2010s horror, movies, but done in a unique way, longlegs still remains my favorite horror film of the year so far
Love Longlegs! But this one just scared me and surprised me the most. This director is so good. It definitely didn’t feel like your typical release from shudder in 2024.
