Do I Really Need A Holster Drop Mount? What Are They For?
Welcome back folks. This Short video intends to show you the benefits of having a Drop/ offset mount for your holster, When you would want it, and which holster mounting option to select for your intended purpose.
There are a lot of different holster mounting options on the market. Deciding whether you are looking for a tactical holster mount or something a bit more competition oriented will help you narrow down the options. We go over both of these styles in this video which should help point you in the right direction so that you get your kit setup the right way the first time.
A good holster mount is essential to proper performance and function. Finding the right Holster drop mount option will help you improve the speed and consistency of your draw, as well improve how well all of your gear works together ( with a plate carrier or chest rig for example). Once you have your gear squared away, by selecting a Hammer Armament holster setup, you only have to worry about your own skills and how to improve them.

I BET THOSE CUTS ON SLIDE ARE A HAZARD FOR DIRT .
always good to see your mug!
@@shotgunabc well get ready to see a bunch more of it cause we have a bunch of videos coming down the pipe. The next one is a doozy.
Love it.
I wonder how the Bul armory tac pro stacks up against these. Only seen awesome reviews and it’s a fraction of the price. Great video you got another subscriber 🫡.
@@curtislee4437 we are living in the golden age of o2011’s. There have never been so many great options available.
@ I agree. I’ve been looking to get one but there is a new one I’ve never heard of everyday and I’ll be damned if I don’t get the best bang for buck 2011 😂.
Thank You Brent ,great information.
@@Seabee74 thanks for watching. Hopefully it’s helpful.
Great info Brent.
@@joebishop7909 thanks. I hope it helps!
what kind of grips are those?
@@davidmauk9215 the original staccato XC grip.
Very beautiful gun, very accurate gun, very reliable gun, and unfortunate for me, a very expensive gun. Please do not misunderstand me, you definitely get what you pay for in this case. Now, in my opinion, there is nothing with better ergonomics than a 1911 type platform, I would love to own one but they are out of my price range, however if you can afford it, I would get it! It seems to be the sidearm of choice among those who know best.
As someone looking at this gun and also someone who has had to save to be able to afford it I like hearing the truth good and bad.
Love this channel. Can’t understand why your subscribership is so low. Thanks for all your effort
@@niemdada859 me neither! I was sure I would be UA-cam famous by now. Maybe even had a sudden but inevitable downfall. Guess we gotta just keep pumping out more videos.
You failed to include Infinity in the comparison.
@@robertboudrie2234 more like purposefully ignored. The price and availability of infinity’s make them essentially unobtainable for the average buyer and therefore not worth comparing. Not saying they aren’t great, but if you can’t get your hands on one, it doesn’t really matter.
@@hammerarmament Definitely a niche product. Their "Drops" every 6-8 weeks or so always sell out in less than a minute.
Great video
I just bought one and noticed the ejector is shorter (further back) than other 2011. I have noticed that this could cause improper ejection as in the next round interferes with the election. My 4.25" prodigy is flawless and has a longer ejector.
Love your review! I’m very excited about this one!!
i have a staccato p x its one the first alluminun frames in the trails they have more muzzle rise than the steal frame how ever the tolarince is so tight on both that they need to be shot i use a grafight dry lube flowwed buy lukus gun oil and yes its beast 25 yrds 1 inch groups rapid fire the hole mag and the more u shoot it the better it gets best duty gun i haver shot its also my edc when not being a cop lube protacall makes all the differnce good vid like ur honst oppinion thanx
you sir have won my sub at 2:27 thank you very much.
Guys I just checked the price. All I gona say is that pistol really worth 2k5?
@@saijin8745 ultimately, you need to decide that for yourself based on your own needs/desires/budget. All I can tell you is that this is a really great gun that had become a favorite of mine for carry, it’s a blast to shoot ( not in a sig P320 kind of way) and I’m glad I have it.
I think it maybe one of the best all around pistols made today! The gun is more accurate that its operators and a pleasure to carry! I’m not a fan of the fiber optics I feel for the price should have had day/nite sites but other than that it’s a perfect balance!
The bit about psychological torture is hilarious, and that truly would be a terrible thing to sit through. Have you asked the XC for forgiveness? Really enjoyed this video and you gained a sub.
Operator error
@@jakede565 some of it was. Some of it was beyond that…unfortunately this saga continues.
Do the pouches and holster co e with the mount receiver as well?
@@jordanlindo5277 it depends on how they are ordered. You can order them just with the disc or with the reciever/mount.
Man love this review, this dude is hilarious😂 had me cracking up the entire time
@@TriggerTalk158 glad you liked it!
Just found your channel and subbed. Really enjoy your reviews.
What MOA do you run on your Trijicon SRO ?
@@bullrun1 5 moa. Though I think I’d be just as happy, if not more so with the smaller one.
@@hammerarmamenttrying to decide between the 2.5 and the 5.0 for my XC - just a range and competition gun - I carry the CS and the C full grip and P are my “truck guns”
@ there have been a few times in matches where I wished I had a more precise dot, such as far difficult targets. But it’s likely not a really big deal.
@@hammerarmament we have a local monthly competition where you shoot from 7 yards at bowling pins… I think the 5MOA would be very quick on target… But I worry about potentially matches with 50 yard targets with a 5MOA covering too much
@ depends on the size but usually the targets won’t be that small at that distance for pistol competitions to the point where it would be an issue.
I’m having a similar experience with this gun. My groups are typically very tight. I shoot a lot - in competition and for work. My groups with this gun looked like buckshot at first, despite having sighted a properly fitted red dot from rest. I noticed that certain brands of ammunition worked better than others - but it was very inconsistent. I too thought it was me until I pulled out 3 other guns and shot perfect groups. Maybe it’s worth a call to stacatto…. This was my first one. 😢
@@quijahn8369 you could try popping open the mainspring housing and seeing if you can sort of hose it out, either with compressed air or the spray cans of clp. I also found a chunk of…something… inside my mag release button that was making it sticky. Not related to accuracy of course but still.
Atlas and Staccato Owner Here...I just ordered an XC with the Trijicon 2.5 MOA SRO. Thanks for the great review! BTW: love your holsters!
Real quick, what was the exact trigger pull weight?
Bro, hilarious, but also great video, thank you!
Psychological endurance and the trigger pull test earned you another sub - too funny!
Light vs no light for carry?
@@brentlakin I prefer to carry with a light more often than not. Even during the day, there are dark places we go.
FUNNY CHIT!
Anyone know if you can get in ten rd magazine for NJ?
Yes you can they will modify the magazine when you buy it at whatever FFL you pick it up from.
Not available in Commiefornia !!
Trex and Johnny Q had a special Ed baby I guess
The trigger pull weight at the end of the video was very informative… 😂
Delicate little Byatch hands... That was dam funny and true from a long time Colt light weight enhanced Commander carrier. She has been a faithful you know what. But she is a 1990's build. I have been looking at this weapon for a while.
“Talk you son of a b*tch. Talk” 😂
Nice content - I appreciate the detail of your comparison 👍 Complementary comment to please the Robot Overlords 🤖
Informative video. Thank you.
Great video homie
2:47 that poor pistol! I never knew how truly rugged and tough the staccato was.
The Dawson allen screws that come with those optic plates use are awful. The Jagerwerks T15 torx screws are great. Don't strip when you need to remove them.
Last part killed me lol
You can poke fun but those single stack guys have the quickest and smoothest reloads from all that practice they get 😂
Compromising a $3.5k setup for daily carry 😂 Stacc 24” Compact great shooter though.
@@Men-Of-Arms there us always a certain degree of compromise when choosing a carry gun ( or really a gun for any purpose) and there is no true “perfect” gun for all people or all situations. There is always some trade off. It’s all about finding the right balance of capability, comfortability, concealment and cost for your situation and personal tastes. I think this gun will check a lot of boxes for many people.
@ Regardless, i would spend the $2k for training and ammo at first. The word “perfect” is just an illusion.
@ . Spending more money on ammo and more effort on training is always a good idea. However, it isn’t an either/or choice for everyone.
7000 yards on December 14 at the trailer park. You can ask my uncle Jerry. He saw it. I’m serious. I did. Just kidding. I’m a shitty C level shooter. Love the content.
Glock 19 is lame and gay 😂😂 let’s go back to the year 2000 pls
@@michaelsantiago7523 I’d advise against time traveling to a period where the Clinton AWB was still in place.
