It’s tricky because the curve should go out. You don’t want to be drawing viscera seers turn 6 after a board wipe. With enough rocks and ramp, the curve is fine. Can’t beat down 120 life from opponents by making like 4 power a turn

it is. I added lives over season at the time because lives just got reprinted in eldraine so it was cheap and doubling season was hovering around the usual $50 range. Just a way to stay budget friendly

My general philosophy is that like 33% lands, 33% staples, and 33% what makes the deck unique. It’s the unique part that I like to emphasize lol

Thanks man. I think she’s alright. The main appeal is the token doubler for a turn and at that point, it’s just better to run anointed procession since it’s harder to get rid of and the effect is always present rather than once every few turns

Trophy mage is exactly 3. There’s tribute mage and trinket mage that get other CMC values. For the second part I’d say it depends. Shroud is harder because it is there to give haste and to protect other guys, like pure steel paladin. Outside of the shroud, the pro colors shouldn’t be too much of a big deal because you don’t have to put the equipment on just cap

That’s why I put in the other untap staff. You’re right it’s better than this one. In my head staff of domination used to be this crazy card and now it’s not that great in commander anymore

Necropotence is great I just don’t have one. Fun lore about the deck, when I bought this precon, a week later I bought a mystery precon from Walmart and it was a 2015 daxos precon, so a lot of those cards got moved into vampires lol.

he doubles ALL damage he deals. Combat to players, creatures, planeswalkers, etc. He is sick when you use fight spells because he deals double damage

I’ve been saying for years that 5C Tazri Allies is a real man’s deck that puts hair on your chest. I’m going to make a video for it. Keep an eye out for it. God damn I love allies

same thing happened to me and made me want to make the video lol. Yeah i mean it should be rare, but then like pauper edh loses it and since you can only get it in seeded packs, the rarity doesnt matter much

I always try to make these videos with some pricy cards in them because they are good, but you do not need them at all. Even just adding removal or a mana rock is a great alternative.

@ I know not for every deck, but everyone should have one card that does it. Even small like scavenger grounds or a strip mine in every deck is good enough

Thanks man! And he’s alright. Lord effects don’t really matter too much for dragons. Look at crucible of fire. Great card but doesn’t see play because your board is naturally a few big dudes rather than a a bunch of small ones. The cost reduction is nice but when the commander basically does the same, it just gets redundant. Not that morophon is bad or anything, but all the bases are covered without him

Yeah it was more to show that you can make lifelink “stack” in a round about way. Good point though!

I was happy to add it. Years ago, niv disk would go into like almost all my decks as a scary threat, but it would get removed constantly or everything is gone. Bello just solves it

Honestly they are just kinda different builds if you ask me. Karador exclusively cares about creatures and doesn’t care if they die because he can just cast them next turn. The issue with winter is they return with finality counters, so they are gone forever when they die. Honestly man if you want the best of both worlds, switch over to muldrotha so you can hit everything you want

@@poppmagic only problem is I’m kinda a guy who doesn’t want to use the same commanders u see often or just the main meta. Like my main deck is a Vish kal blood arbiter deck lol But thanks for the input I think I’ll lean with winter 🤔 Although with karador you can reanimate winter then an enchantment or land or instant with winter 🤔. @poppmagic that's cool I found a card called tana, the bloodsower that's essentially the same thing In R/G and with partner. As a commander would you recommend that card over this if it was for a more serious deck or is there an advantage outside of mana cost with shroofus.

@@devinmiller9765 id say tana is definitely better as a whole but it depends what you want really. Do you want mono color tribal? Do you just want to crash in with tana and make tokens? Who is the partner commander? What colors do you want to Tana deck to be with the partner? A lot of questions you need to ask before you commit

It’s tough because power level is pretty subjective and based on your playgroup. I’d say 7.5/8 just because of its lethality. It can be sketchy because you need him to win

@ got ya yeah I go to a like store to play and I’m scared of playing it and getting people at me for “pub stomping” or stomping but I really love the deck so I still might build it

@6yolkegg863 I don’t think it’s pubstompy. It’s a good deck but it’s not busted by any means, just cool synergy. In my head, pub stompy is like bringing a cedh deck to a casual EDH tournament intending for it to be no contest

I’d know it sounds cliche but it’s a 7. Very aggressive ramp and big board state but it’s not unbeatable. Board wiped killing hakbal will reset things basically

so its incremental. The important part is the lifegain because if everything is on the field: Tap top to draw and put on top of deck. Then cast top for 1 life from citadel. Cast triggers aetherflux, gaining one life. Tap top to draw a card and put on top of deck. Then cast top for 1 life from citadel. Cast trigger saetherflux, gaining 2 life. Tap top to draw and put on top of deck. Then cast top for 1 life from citadel. Cast triggers aetherflux gaining 3 life, etc etc. continues doing this until you are gaining like 15 life per cast and pay 50 life to kill with aetherflux

@poppmagic you throw something at it and exile it with sword of kaldra? Reading cards explains cards. Sword of kaldra doesnt need combat damage, just damage from the creature. You should also be including basalisk collar if you arent. Deathtouch works the same way

Yeah but it’s still hard to compare the set up to the result. One is just a one mana get rid of something while the other is a 5 mana drop you equip. The exile doesn’t really matter since whatever we throw should kill the blocking creatures anyway. Basilisk collar is good in general for the deck but the same idea is that you are throwing away equipment that will kill something else regardless

@poppmagic you dont throw it away. You unattatch. Also it lets you split the damage to 3 targets, so by having sword of kaldra attatched and throwing atleast a 3 mana equipment you get 3 swords to plowshares with no upside to your opponents and cap is a 9/9. Sword of kaldra is only 4 mana btw.

@bladethebeast2 throw away in the sense of his “throw” ability. Like it’s good don’t get me wrong but like it’s different that swords through mana cost and set up

Stonehewer is great in the deck! My only gripe with him is that he is basically a 5 mana do nothing that highly incentivizes opponents to kill it before you untap. If he lives, you’re golden but he basically is just tutor up Kaldra Compleat and nobody wants that to deal with

So he won’t double up vampires in the zone, but will when he is in the field and also doubles his attack trigger. Plus all of the other vamps have good synergy with it regardless

Broodmoth sounds super sick!

Uh, Luminous Broodmoth returns creatures to the battlefield only if they still exist, but tokens cease to exist the moment they touch the graveyard ( = they die) which means this doesn't work, unfortunately...

Broodmoth doesn’t work on tokens, but it is still fine for the eldrazi that enter with guys.

I run diabolic just because it’s a way cheaper alternative than demonic and the deck doesn’t care too much about killing off a 1/1, especially a free one lol
