      I didn’t film cutting the bulkhead as it was a bit awkward to film unfortunately. It was straight forward enough though, I just marked out what needed to be removed then used a combination of the nibbler and cutting discs to cut it. I had a little bit of fine tuning to do to trim bits off but then just removed any sharp edges before covering with the fabric.

      The tweed takes a bit of work and working out how to do things as it doesn’t flow like carpet does. If you watch my video on the pod panels you’ll see what I mean, I had to do a separate piece to do the curve of the panel as it’s wouldn’t stretch enough. Really like your idea of repurposing the bulkhead for over cab storage, I’m just about to start converting my Crafter 4Motion and will consider it for mine. I think I might try a sheet of aluminium for the shelf, cutting tabs out and riveting to the bulkhead and framework in the cab. Thanks for sharing.

    • @luxduoverland674
      @luxduoverland674 5 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching was looking at about ideas but decided to try and use the bulkhead panel. Think it turned out ok and the shelf is very strong, aluminium would be good to use also. Depending what your going to use it for make sure you add support in the centre as it’s quiet a long stretch for the shelf panel. I added some support after the first fit as I found it sagged slightly in the middle. No issue with that now so I’m confident I can put a fair bit of weight on it if I need to. 👍🏻

      Thanks, I was between the Thule and Fiamma awnings and couldn’t decide which for a long time. Then seeing them both at the Caravan and motorhome show last October I decided to go for the Thule. It’s a very sleek fitment and the foam strip completes the job nicely there’s no gaps then along the roof line. It is very clean I was lucky to find a second hand van in such good condition bodywork wise. I went with black pods so they match the black windows and it brakes up the white nicely.

      Thanks, never built any cabinets from scratch before so I’m quite pleased how they have come out. I’d have chosen the furniture board if I was a carpenter but the cost if it makes it gets expensive if you make mistakes. We also like the personalised home built look too makes it a bit more unique then. Much neater job as the nibbler follows the manufacturer edge on the inside. No sharp edges either so in my option safer to use.
