*About Princeton:*
Princeton is a small town located in the Similkameen region of southern British Columbia, Canada. Situated at the confluence of the Tulameen and Similkameen Rivers, it is known for its rich history and natural beauty. Princeton was originally established as a Hudson's Bay Company trading post in the mid-19th century and has since evolved into a charming community with a population of around 3,000 people.
The town's economy has traditionally been driven by mining, forestry, and agriculture. Today, tourism also plays a significant role, with visitors drawn to the area's outdoor recreational opportunities. Princeton is a gateway to numerous activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping, especially in the nearby Manning Provincial Park and Princeton's China Ridge Trails, popular for cross-country skiing and mountain biking.
The town boasts a vibrant cultural scene with local museums, historic sites, and annual events like the Princeton Traditional Music Festival, which celebrates folk and acoustic music. Princeton's mild climate, scenic landscapes, and friendly community atmosphere make it an attractive destination for both tourists and those seeking a peaceful lifestyle. Its rich heritage and proximity to nature offer a unique blend of history and outdoor adventure.

    I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times. 78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High -- 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways. 81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times. 88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders. 92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come; and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified. 99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations." 102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." .....2 Esdras 7:75 //////

    "which van to buy". Internet wars have started about this topic 😁. Same as with layout it is a very personal choice and preference, and also depending on where on the planet one lives or even what model year one buys. Personally, I like the boxy shape and width of the Ducato/Boxer/Jumper/Ram range, as well as the height of the super high version. As someone of almost 1.98m (about 6 foot 5 61/64 in prehistoric measurements) there isn´t much choice. But I would prefer a Mercedes for the ride comfort. If I had the money for it, probably the MAN TGE would be the best compromise between those 2. Ford and Iveco I would never consider. You all have fun with your build and your van, whatever brand and type you chose.

    Another fantastic video! Fortunately, for us, we haven't yet seen many of your other videos of SA, which is something to look forward! Very interesting about the stingray egg! I saw many of those on beaches in SA when I was a kid and always thought they were seeds! We live and learn! By the way, it's good to know that you don't drink either😎

    Very nice and informative video! It was amazing to see that tree full of ibises! The other birds in the tree were egrets. We get them here in Hong Kong too. Great to know there's a vegan restaurant! I've been following a plant based diet (the original diet given in Eden and the one we'd have in heaven too) for a quarter century now. Also good to see the video featuring rooibos tea! We got a supply last time we visited SA. It has lots of antioxidants, although it's not known for containing Vit. C.

I found these questions and answers very useful because, I planned to hike the PCT and after that I would love to purchase a similar van like you have. One of the most question I would like to ask is how do you manager your budges or other way to ask what kind a job which fit for auto/camper life? However, this is a first times I watch your video and I found very interesting. Specially Canada is one of the best countries for camping. At lease without wild scary animals like in US. Another wonderful video! I was kind of worried that your accident on the beach may ruin the rest of the trip, but it's a relief to see how quickly you recovered! Steve did the right thing to pray for you and it's really good to see fellow believers making high quality travel videos like these! How long do you reckon is needed for the Garden Route? We'd only be in SA for 23 days, spending the 1st week in Somerset West. We're wondering if we should allow 2 weeks for the garden route or do 1 week East and another week west, to places like Shelly Point and Lampert's Bay.

    • @AltLiving
      @AltLiving 24 дні тому

      That is a desire of ours... to be the salt and light and shine the light of Jesus to a hopeless world... Yes... the swelling really went down quick! I see Somerset West is just before St Lowry's pass.... which is closer to the start of the journey which is great. After you pass through / over St Lowrys pass, make a stop at the Peregrine Farm stall... its a quaint place where you can buy natural soaps and 'buck' pies :-D Its a difficult question as we were in SA for months at a time, with Namibia in between. You can certainly spend a week in the garden route, but bear in mind that there will be about 1 days travel to and from garden route. Depends if you want to relax or explore more?! Might be worth going to garden route for 1 week to start with and see how it goes...(?). We stayed a bunch of time at an airbnb inside a gated community that you could walk down to the beach from, just outside of wilderness. Where are you visiting from?

    • @Natureandwildlifeencount-jx7fs
      @Natureandwildlifeencount-jx7fs 24 дні тому

      @@AltLiving This is really wonderful! We live in Hong Kong, where only 1 in 10 people identify as Christian and most of them are simply nominal Christians. I've been praying that the Lord will connect us with true believers and it's been happening more and more this year! Are there actually peregrine falcons at the Peregrine Farm Stall? Believe it or not, but a peregrine falcon nested in our building last year! As we're using Asia Miles to book our accommodation (which basically means we get it for free), we'd be booking everything in advance, after planning our trip. At the moment we're still in the planning stage, having booked just the 1st week. I'm also considering to move back to SA and plan to look at property during our holiday. From what I've found online, it seems if one's able to get a 40 sq m flat in a place like Hermanus or Mossel Bay for less than a 10th of the price that a 20 sq m place sells for in Hong Kong! Has Steve ever considered moving back to SA?

    Very good footage of the caves! I was there when I was only 6 years old and we're planning to visit it again this year. Seems you've visited a lot of places in SA! I grew up there, but have been living overseas for more than a quarter century already. We're really looking forward to our visit to the Western Cape to finish 2024 and start 2025, but at the same time I'm wondering about the safety of driving long distances. Have you had any issues while on the road?

      This was one of the places in SA we loved the most. Just like you, Steve is also a South African living abroad, which made the experience a lot special to us! 😊 We didn’t have any problems driving. Some of our road trips were about 5hrs long and the roads were excellent! The people were also friendly and helpful everywhere we went. How exciting! We hope you enjoy your trip!

  • @blackberrythorns

    look where the hudson bay is on the map, the land around it was originally called rupert's land by the british and then the hudson's bay company was created. the fraser river begins in the rocky mountains, it's the largest river in british columbia. the fraser river is really cool up around a place called gang ranch/dog creek, the roads are gravel but generally in good condition. in 2021 we had a heat dome that broke all sorts of records, lytton reached a record canadian high of 49.6C (121F) then the village burned down. ashcroft is the only true desert in canada (by precipitation), it's where the movie "An Unfinished Life" was filmed.

    at the very north end of vancouver island there's cape scott park, it has sand beaches like tofino with very few people as the only way in is a 20 km. hike. the hike is relatively flat but very muddy and best done at the end of august/sept. when things have dried out. the upside is there are beaches all to yourself.

    tofino receives more than 3 metres of rain a year, a little further south henderson lake (Hucuktlis Lake) is the wettest place in north america with a record of over 9 metres. it's temperate rainforest, it's a worry when it doesn't rain for extended periods of time which has been happening more frequently in summers. last year there was even a forest fire near henderson lake which is disturbing.

    It's not called the "Muddy Fraser river"....It's called the " Mighty fraser river", which will become apparent when you see hell's gate area and a ways north in spring ! The power of the water and the amount of flow is awesome ! Copper Creek is the name of the town....not the lake. The lake is VERY large and you are looking at the west end of Shuswap lake....it goes for about 50 miles where it meeys up with the northern arm of Lake Okanagan which travels about 50 miles south ! All the green farm patches are because of large irrigation pumps....sun and water = crops !

      Thank you for the info! Will fix it up top so others can see it too. No doubt Fraser River goes by the name “Mighty Fraser River” and we can see why. We told about the “Muddy Fraser River” by our Canadian friend who happened to live in that area for many years.

    having lived in all those areas at various times, there is no possible way i would do that drive in 1 day even from Chillliwack it would be a silly idea. the Coquihalla is not a happy highway. I would guess this would be quite the culture shock especially if you were educated in the US.

      We are used to very long drives so for us, apart from not making it in time for the RV park, it was quite fun. The down side of it to us was that we weren't able to see much of those places but just travelling through and barely stopping. We've made the decision to spend as much time as possible in those areas and take a more paced trip the next time we go there.
