Rhino 3D Shell Command & Polyhedra Plugin
Переглядів 9 тис.5 років тому
The shell command in Rhino 3D is a great tool that can cut a workflow in half. It’s a way of creating complex shells and containers with particular thicknesses without having to model the geometry from curves and surfaces. . You can find the Plugin here: www.food4rhino.com/app/rhinopolyhedra

How did you do make one curve edit to effect the other curves? I tried it and only the curve I am editing moves not the others with regards.
THANKS FOR THIS TUTORIAL ITS GOOD
how to move generate all curve because i just can move 1 curve and them don't move along :( tks
Found it. You need to enable history recording. Otherwise wont work.
same problem when trying to manipulate the surface after lofting. the solution is go to curve tools tab and in that top tool bar there is a option for "show object control points" click that then selct the surface that you just lofted and it will give you the control points that he is manipulating in the video. hope this helps someone ive been searching for the answer for two hours
Great video. I do have one question, what is the best way to add a bottom to the vessel?
If you just want a flat base you can use the 'planarsrf' command (planar surface). other options are 'patch' or to revolve a profile and trim it to fit the base.
@@benhurst4039 thanks
At 15:06, when I try to pull the outside edges up, a dialogue box appears saying "Dragging broke history on 1 object" Why is it happening and what do I do in that case?
Hello, this is simply a warning to tell you that the act of control point editing the surface is breaking the 'History' relationship with the original curves. Meaning the surface will no longer remain controlled by the outline curves. Its not an issue for this workflow, but its worth taking note when you see this warning (you can chose to ignore and turn off the pop up)
Great Tutorial!
Whenever i get to 2:37 the surface wont take the shape of the manipulated red line? What am I doing wrong?
same problem here! please help
@@Felix1090_ so sorry the super late reply! you need to turn on 'History', use the History button at the bottom of the screen, or run the command 'history' and turn it to always on. Then run the loft and the curves will directly unpdate the surface like you see here.
Such a crack, thanks for this video, chears from Mexico City!!
Why my HDRI all flat pictures, can I convert them to a round JPG like yours
Are you using an additional equipment for navigating the viewport? It looks so smooth and effortless.
Hi, yes we are using the 3D Connexion Space Mouse that lets you navigate using their joystick.
Thanks! I found it very helpful! Can you also tell how do you rotate your object and do other things with your mouse pointer at the same time?
Hi Paulius, we are using a 3Dconnexion space mouse to help navigation.
@@benhurst4039 Thank you! I never thought about that. It looks very useful and impressive in your video
How can you lock a surface but still able to modify it?
Ok I got, with history!
@@martinapi713 That's right! Locking the surface is a useful way to make sure you don't accidentally select the surface while you are dragging and selecting the points. :)
why u are so fast like this? it is a educational video you should will be more slowly I think....
More video uploade please
THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD BUT WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR THE STEPS THANK YOU
Hi Omar, thanks for the feedback! We have a revised tutorial coming out for cutlery modelling soon and this one will have a voice over included, stay tuned.
