As winter sets in and the chilly winds grip the city, I decided to take a step towards helping those in need. While organizing my wardrobe, I realized I had a lot of old and unused winter clothes. I saw this as an opportunity to declutter and make a difference.
I reached out to friends and neighbors, asking if they could contribute any clothes, including warm clothing for children. With everyone’s support, I managed to collect a variety of winter essentials.
For distribution, I chose the roadside near AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), where the Delhi government has set up campsites for poor patients and their families. When I arrived, I saw a large group of people eagerly waiting for some help.
The process was chaotic, with a rush of people surrounding me. A few individuals were so desperate that they grabbed clothes directly from my hands. While it was overwhelming, I reminded myself of the reason I was there-to help those in need.
Despite the challenges, this experience filled me with immense satisfaction. Knowing that I could provide warmth to those battling the harsh cold made all the effort worthwhile. A little generosity can go a long way in making someone’s day brighter.
