No sense overclocking the cpu because the igpu will always be your bottleneck. That and the power envelope can cause the igpu to throttle due to the cpu overclock.

Hi, if I switch to ryzen 7 5700g can i watch movies video of 10bit . 265 hevc codes? Will 1080i resolution work for watching movies on it? Can i also watch 2k n 4k movies with it be it on UA-cam or downloaded print frm net? How smoth will be the video playback? What the max resolution it supports without any lags or any issues... I don't intend to use any other graphics card.

I currently run with an Athlon 3000g not overclocked. Do you overclock your IGPU in the 5700g or is it stock? if you overclock, what's the performance uplift like compared to stock? thanks again.

I've got some interesting results: Using overclocked RAM 3200-->3933MHz 20,22,22,22, PBO + 200MHz (4850 max) auto voltage, iGPU 2300MHz @ 1.2V + undervolting using curve optimiser results from Ryzen Master in the BIOS, and some alterations to PPT TDC EDC I got 46fps in Heaven benchmark, 1080p, High same settings so that's 5fps more than all core OC. Possibly the heat from all core and the voltage reductions may be helping my score, as Heaven seems more GPU biased. Usually all core on mine at 4.6 is possible with +2200 iGPU I get better Cinebench scores than PBO. So I've saved the 2 profiles. If you really need CPU power - all core 4.6 or if you need excellent balance PBO is good. Might even be worth doing a 3rd profile and trying the 4.5CPU/2400igpu like you. Some games and some apps require different combinations to become better, so saving different profiles in the BIOS is a great feature to use - mine is MSI Gaming Pro Carbon Max Wifi, Scythe Fuma 2 air cooler

Did you install latest drivers for that processor from amd support site? I have ryzen 7 5700g too, but aorus elite v2 motherboard, and I don't know what is the problem, but I can't find proper drivers. Each time when drivers have been installed, I get black screen. When I restart windows(10), I can see loading screen, and then on user login screen, the screen is still black. I wrote about that to AMD, but I don't get response yet.

I have a question, do you have any issues after you oc'd. In my case, after enabling the oc, my system work just fine for hours but sometimes at random the pc would go black screen and i have to force shutdown the system. Going back to the default settings would fix it, i was thinking maybe the problem was that i only did the gpu oc not the cpu but i don't know what caused the black screen. What do you think? i hope anyone can help me regarding this matter.

I have been having a hard time getting out of 4 gigs of ram for graphics. Whenever I tried going higher my system would crash. I tried this and switch to 16 gigs it works great. I can now have better quality in games.

Since GPUs are still expensive I want to relocate the 1650 from my son’s Roblox streaming build, and replace the CPU with the 5700g. How does it perform in OBS for live streaming gameplay?

Thinking of building one with the Aorus Elite V2. I have the rest of the components. And selling my RX 580 to upgrade in the future to something better.

For 512Vram it does NOT always automatically give itself more even with the auto setting in the bios. I had to change mine because vram was always maxed out with games so I Went in bios and allocated 8gb of dedicated graphics memory. This made a HUGE difference for me and I would recommend if you have the extra memory to increase it.

I get same settings heaven benchmark score: FPS:52,9 Score:1333, Min Fps: 31,2 Max Fps: 111,7. I have 5700g cpu curve optimiser all core - 20, igpu ocd to 2300mhz, asus b550i strix, kingston apparently b die 3600c16 (oc'd to 4333mhz cl18 54ns socv 1.2188V, Cldo Vddp 0.96V@1.5v dramv), phanteks 240mp aio temps avg 65c gaming, i get same settings heaven. Cpu LLC 3, SOC LLC2.

I just build myself the same PC. What GPU do you think would be the best to be paired up with this one ?

Some great marketing by AMD with this APU. CPU side of this APU is real good. And the GPU side of this APU is excellent for Videos at 4k. But gaming is not playable from what I have seen so far. And not just on this channel either.

try PBO2 curve control for the CPU. it is possible to undervolt while increasing boost clock. My system -30mv +200mhz for 4850mhz boost clock. IGPU 2300mhz at 1.25v PBO seems to have no effect on IGPU. AMD does not recomend igpu voltage over 1.25v due to degradation concerns. 2300 seems an attainable average at this voltage you might be able to go higher with less or more but that's up to the users risk.

Thanks for posting the Heaven clip. I was wondering how my old GPU (GTX 750 Ti) would stack up against this APU. I got 100fps and a score of 2519 without overclocking it. I was contemplating between ryzen 5900x with the old 750 Ti, or this APU and hope for better GPU prices in the future. Ryzen 9 it is. Thanks

No much reason for igpu oc when your ram running at 3200 cl16. You should first ram oc and then igpu. Thats give you much more fps.

I wonder if dedicating more ram to the gpu would bump up performance. Like 8gb cause task manager shows 512mb dedicated to igpu. Just a thought
