    For traveling food- I’d often just carry a thing of Oats- and either a thermos full of coffee, or just a tin of coffee, and a cooking pot. So long as you’d have a hatchet, just carry maybe 0.26 LBS of Water, and scavenge whatever wood you find along the way. I’m sure there’s better, but it hasn’t failed me yet. Keeps you warm, and it keeps for a little bit.

    Generally speaking for interloper the best clothing you can possibly wear is: (Two bear skin coats) (two thin wool sweaters) for hats wear (rabbit hat or possibly get the cougar hide wrap) and a (expedition balaclava) for pants (one combat pants and deer pants) and for socks (both pairs of wool socks) and try to find (two thermal underwear)

    My go to set up is Mukluks, combat pantsX2 , wool gloves, urban parka, Mackinaw coat. Perfect balance of all traits.

    I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but the teas don't deteriorate in quality. I find them much easier to carry than their 'manufactured' counterparts. Great video series, thank you!

    1:14 Gotta include the weight of the cooking pot needed to cook the porridge in the equation, though

  • @mickypain2959
    @mickypain2959 2 дні тому

    Also, make sure to never store any food (or any item that decays) in a container, or they will despawn once they reach 0% condition. Instead, place them on shelves or tables, or just drop them. Even at 0% condition, you can safely eat almost anything once you reached max cooking level, and even continue using them in cooking recipes with a small exploit..

    Great videos. One thing missing from this analysis though is that something that's easy to acquire is also easy to drop. This mainly applies to torches but also empty cans. They don't really reduce what you can carry back if you don't care about dropping them once you're near max weight.

    Torch, 2 pots, 2 cloth, 1 leather, weapon, ammo, food, water, clothes, hacksaw, crowbar, knife, hatchet, matches, magnifying glass, spelunker lantern, sewing kit, weap rep kit, insulated bed roll and MAYBE a fishing line or two.

    Im probably nit-picking but for mobility I would consider warmth/weight ratio. For example gloves, cotton gloves.

    Great video Starz, May I suggest making a "spoiler " video regarding the DLC foods / recipes. I know they have many other benefits besides just weight and calorie count If you could go over all those that would be helpful for those like me who don't care much about spoiler alerts. please include cooking skill needed for each recipe and suggest best "use" for each recipe. i recently got the DLC and and have barely got into making some of the general recipes that don't need a " found recipe" in order to craft. Thanks.

    I'm definitely making a defensive outfit, as I now have the Ballistic vest. I found out from another streamer how to get a kit that balances out the weight and the warmth while being fully protected for the long run. Also one thing I will mention you talk about inner torso at 8.59, but my question is why do you mention defense? Doesn't defense only apply to the outer layers for the most part (unless that is your outer layer at the moment)? Another thing is you only find expedition parkas on stalker and lower

    Great video! I'd like to see a similar video but you focus on all the clothes that are more common to find, rather than clothes that takes time and skill to sew together like the bearskin and wolfskin clothes. Max out on common clothes like the Canadian toque.

    @AmaraJordanMusic 4 дні тому

    I just summited and am spending some time tearing down clothes I absolutely don’t want for cloth during a blizzard, so this is fantastic timing 😅 I might switch to as much movement clothing as I can to make my run for the tactical backpack. Awesome work as always, so glad I found your videos so early in your UA-cam run!

    I wish you would have factored in weight more. That's more important than protection I think. Protection tends to come along with warm clothes anyway (aside from exp parka and snow pants).

  • @mecha5409
    @mecha5409 4 дні тому

    Yay! I’ve been looking for an up to date video about this. I’m used to being over encumbered so I always prioritize warmth over weight. This technical breakdown is exactly what I’ve needed but at the same time there’s another factor to consider- how much of a pain in the ass is it to get/make. I can fully acknowledge the Cowichan sweater is the best in the game but I pretty much always end up with the fisherman’s sweater cause it’s more easily accessible. Same goes for the tactical vest, would love that protection bonus but that means I’d have to go back to Blackrock 😂

    Personally i pick outer layer as deference and inner layer as warmth. Yes it leads to heavy and low stamina but its my preference.
