General Electric Tape Module Model 5040 Repair
Переглядів 16014 днів тому
In this video, I struggle to fix simple problems in a vintage General Electric reel to reel recorder. In the end I got everything working with exception of the tape counter. I didn’t mention it in the video, but I believe this machine was manufactured by Voice of Music judging by the sticker on the inside.
How To Fix Cassettes That Won't Play
Переглядів 25221 день тому
If you have any cassette tapes that have trouble playing in your machines, such as stalling and trouble with tape traction, this video may be helpful. This is a method that I've been experimenting with for a bit now and I've gotten decent results. Not sure if this will work on all cassettes with this problem, but I haven't had this hurt any so far. However, I do not know if some formulations of...

Craftsman 7 Inch Disc Sander Restoration
Переглядів 4514 місяці тому
I bought this vintage craftsman disc sander at a thrift store for $10. The sander worked but it needed a good cleaning and polishing. I guess this is more of a partial restoration as I haven't yet sourced a handle or guard yet, but when I do I'll make a second part to this video.
Playing a Sealed Cassette Tape From 1989

I bought a sealed copy of Kaoma Worldbeat from 1989 and thought I'd share opening it and listening to it for the first time.
Vintage RAKS Desk Fan Repair
Переглядів 1354 місяці тому
Picked up this RAKS DF-12TK a while back and recently I decided to fix a few problems that it had. The fan needed lubrication, the gearbox plunger was broken, and it needed a good cleaning. This fan is pretty interesting, it was made in Turkey and can run on 110/220 volts, 50/60 cycles.

great work man😊!
VOM bro! That is a good looking tape recorder! I fixed a VOM recorder from the mid 50's, all it needed was a good cleaning and belts, almost 70 years later!
The classic head cover is the voice of music all the way... Gary at Voice of music has all the parts for that machine you need
You should change needle after each play.
That is a rebranded Voice-of-Music tape player. Voice of music enthusiast website has parts.
Wow! Thank you for the great demo. I had no idea about being able to rotate the blade. Looking forward to playing with that feature.
I saw this too, but with their own separate Delta formations.
I'm polishing mine right now! Same saw. You can get a 7.25 inch blades in it. It will scribe itself in. Just use carbide tipped one. Preferable an old carbide first
The 7 1/4" blades didn't scrape mine, I wonder if it is different depending on manufacturers. Every 7 1/4" I've gotten my hands on is actually 7 3/16".
@HI-FI_ what I was referring to was that saw is the exact one I have and it was a 7 inch at that era. 7 inch is obsolete. So a 7.25 should only be 1/8 larger at one side. I ran mine while tiltng shoe so it routed it's new home. You just have to be careful doing that.
@HI-FI_ remember also back then there was no CNC Machining so it could be yours just made it. Mine hit a bit
@@josephlahood4647 Yes, I understand what you are saying, but mine is also a 7" saw and a 7 1/4" blade fit without any scraping at all.
@@josephlahood4647 oh yeah I guess that could be true.
That B&D Blade Carrier is *sweet* !
roadblocks centura😤
That name is screaming Looney tunes
This makes me s as d remembering all my father tools my brother had and gave away or let go in a storage building.....smfh.....id rather use the old ones i grew up seeing
I have this saw! (I also have a sears sabre saw from 1985)
I got one myself found it on side the road best chair in the house
Gostaria saber o precio
Love the saw but use a push board.
I bought one of these clocks new in the early 90's, from JC Penny. I still have it and it still works,!
What if I only have one switch
Do these also make bevel cuts? Great video!
No, it’s a pretty simple one.
Good Video.
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for the video. Just got a Hoover U 3315. Try to find a cleaning tool set.
It had me in the first half when it made that humming noise, not going to lie. 😂 I thought there was something wrong with it. 😅
Is it necessary for the delta ii since it’s less heavy I got a Snow White delta ii and I don’t have the clip
Some lighter Casablanca can still fall without a clip. Better safe than sorry.
Hey you too slow and slak
Love those old Garrard belt drive decks.. I had the one with the tangential arm until I could afford a technics direct drive.
I'm attempting to fix this exact fan and found your video. It blows my mind this exists. Thank you brother.
Im using this as a sample its bad but good
But it sound kinda dope doe
So I will need to add a switch for the speed or with the normal switch will be in high only? Thanks
I'm 68. I have one of those, used to be my grandpa's. You ever find the manual for this thing?
Cool beans. I got. Model 1701. And need it to see how blade was replace. Great Video 😊
How much to fix my hedger?
I have an Ergo almost exactly like the first one you showed. I just picked it up but when I got it, the pendulum weight was off. I put it back on, now the clock's beat is off. I set it last night just before I went to bed, it was 15 minutes slow the next morning. I can't find any helpful information on figuring out what the beat needs to be, so can you tell me what BPH you set that one to? Also, heads up to anybody else reading this, when you release tension from the winds, wear a very thick glove. If that key slips while you're trying to help it backwards, it's going to hurt.
You might want to re varnish the fan so that it lasts longer
Uh oh! What’s on that thing!! My guess- the old nuclear codes?
Windows 98 lol
Im thinking of buying a mge 5800 do you think i has enough power for some work at the job site?? For example for a drill or a small welder
The drill would probably be fine. I’m not sure about the welder though. You’d have to check see if the generator can handle the welder’s load.
Nice machine and great job fixing it up! I'm pretty old now, but when I was younger, so much younger than today... and not as wise as you, I used such a large grinder without guard laying on my back on the ground, removing rust from the bottom of cars. I survived, as you might've guessed, but good call finding a guard first! It can be hairy at times without. Mine is all gone now, so it took its toll on me. 😄
I remember those
I was expecting the explosion meme insert at the end.
Lol
It sounds so good omg
Excellent! I’ve not seen anyone demonstrate this on a RAS!👏🏻
Wow very impressive
Thanks
I believe the last time that disc sander looked that good, was 50 years ago. Nice job on the restoration.
Thank you
Good video! Great way to bypass the remote!
@HI-FI. Where did you get the replacement belts?
Amazon
Needs varnishing
lmaooo
I bought mine for 10 Euros and it is in exactly the same condition waiting to be repaired. Nice overviev, very helpful, thanks!
Commander Electric! Amazing install!
