Ok I'll try. The car is a Ford Taunus Coupe 1600 L 1975, in US named Taunus Fastback. I replaced the engine and gearbox in 1989 when I bought the car to a 2.8 V6 Cologne and 5-speed manual gearbox. This car with model code Tc1 was built in Germany between the years 1970 to 1975. Most of these cars are gone but a few are still around to day. With kind regards // Anders

Now that’s a neat old Ford. It looks like a stereotypical 70’s muscle car that they shrank by about a suit-size to better fit European roads.

I dont know about the hp in My Taunus. This 2,8 comes from a Granada with injection from the beginning with 150 hp. I put a carberator i this engine. By the instrumments, they in middle comes ftom a gxl. My car was a 1600 L from the beginning. Not much original i this one.

Here in Sweden we not had those nice versions. I have changed the engine in my car to a Granada 2.8 with carburetor. I don't know how many hp. Thanks for the info. With kind regards // Anders.

A lot of parts from Capri fit Taunus and also Cortina 😊

These cars, were sold in Europe, with 1.6 - 2.0 or 2.3. Your engine, must be from a newer Ford capri or Granada .

@@Bonzoguy66 thats right, the engine is from a 2,8 Granada. Same block as 2,0 n 2,3 V6. The gear box was taken from a Sierra 2,0 OHC. Its easy to rebuild the car back to original if I want that in future.

Nice that you have Kept it, in such shape. Last time , i drove in one, was a stroked 2.3 gxl in the late eighties. I believe, they made 3.0’s in South Africa , until 77 Maybe

@@Bonzoguy66 3,0 esex was made in uk, not the same block as German V6.

You may be disappointed. This is a Taunus L from the begining I put on the emblems and more stuff from a gxl in my youth, they willl be removed, the engine comes from a Granada 2,8. I havent drve the car for many yars, hopefully it will be fixed til summer.

Hej Bjorn! Tar detta på svenska iom en del tekniska facktermer som jag ej kan på engelska. Femväxlade lådan kommer i från en Sierra 2,0 OHC. Struten mellan låda och motorblock är från 2,8 v6. Det som jag gjort för att denna växellåda skall passa är att jag låtit svarva en bussning som pressats in i vevaxeln, i denna vilar stödlagret för utgående axel från växellådan. Trixigt men jag lyckades lösa passning på detta sättet. För övrigt så monterade bytte jag till Sierra 2,0 kardanaxel, främre om jag mins rätt. Original kardan har jag för mig vart för lång med 5 växlade lådan. Hoppas du förstog något av vad jag försökt förmedla 😊 Mvh // Anders
