KLX230 Ride in the Snow, a Waterfall, and Other Adventures!
hey mate, at what speed is it happy on the highway? thanks.
Hey there, it is happiest around 60mph…when we took it on a BDR trip we kept it to around 65mph so the KLX could keep up. It did great
I replaced the H4 bulb with an LED when I had my DRZ. It was way better than OEM, but those aux lights look great!
The brand I used is Kewig - they are quite good and reasonably priced
BEES ??????
Beautiful bike beautiful ride!
😂😂😂😂
Nice video, I am thinking of purchasing a Navi! I like the space and the fact that it is an automatic. Uhm... why you sit your food on the ground 😬lol. Otherwise keep sharing more about the Navi please.
Always good to find another DRZ channel. I’ve had my DRZ since 2006. It’s got close to 21,500 miles on it now. Probably what I’ll do if I ride the WABDR, is stage at the midway point and ride it south from there, then ride it back, then go north and come back (or vice-versa). The DRZ is not great for highway riding, so I really have no interest in riding a bunch of highway miles to get to the starting point or ride back home from the end point.
Maybe I will ride the WABDR on my DRZ in 2025
If you do a lot of off pavement riding, Upgrade your tires to an MT-21 front and Dunlop D606 or Tusk D-Sport rear. The MT-21 front and D606 have been the go-to DR-Z tire combo since time began.
I have a 22 year old DR-Z and a 2019 KTM 450 EXC-F in my garage. The DRZ gets ridden far more than my KTM because it’s more comfortable on an all day fire road ride. I also agree that the 5 speed is a non issue. I have a deposit on a new DR-Z4S.
The new drz will blow all the old drz’s out the water.keep you carburetor you can watch videos how to rebuild them on your vcr.I’m sure blockbuster has the video.😂I’m not a newer is better and I dislike all electric autos the ignorance one must have to think they are more sustainable then gas engines at least right now and the foreseeable future is beyond me.That being said bout damn time the carb is gone I mean what are we doing here 😂
Appreciate the comment! I am excited for EFI for sure
the drs is heavier--- has less power--- is dearer, i choked to death for euro 5 and clowns will buy em
No it's not going to sell, medium size single w almost no road manners and 5 speed gear box that will not have anything tall enough to get you any highway legs w comfort..too few changes too late..
Thanks for the comment - I actually think the road manners are quite good for a dual sport, I rode mine to Canada and back and enjoyed it! An aftermarket Seat Concepts seat is well worth it
I am going to reserve judgement for the DRZ4S until it's "actually" been test ridden by bike reviewers as a whole and then myself, and not just talked about and judged on paper stats alone.
We have not had the DRZ in the UK for quite a few years now, in fact there are hardly any true trail bikes available but the new one is being brought in next year. Despite the unnecessary new gizmos there will be one in my garage within days of them being on sale.
Great video man! I have a new KTM exc in the garage sitting next to a 23yo clapped out drz and they are both fantastic. It's not about the bike, it is about the ride.
I do not like the that the automatic idle run to height from time to time on the klx 230.🙃
Yes the idle is a little high from time to time, it hasn’t bothered me too much though. One thing I forgot to mention in my review is that the bike won’t start after being tipped over (spilled) until you cycle the key off and let it sit for a minute. Seems to be a Kawasaki thing
Epic Cinematic perfection!!! More Suko, please!!!
I know I’m in the echo chamber here, but I agree the DRZ is a universally good bike. Excels at nothing other than reliability but still takes us anywhere enjoyably. A D606 on the rear and an MT21 on the front is fantastic for off pavement, and really changes the riding experience.
I live in Pittsburgh and we still got cobble stone streets, and on my ruckus those streets are almost impossible to ride on because the suspension
Yes I can imagine that doesn’t feel great, lol.
This was very entertaining 🤘🏁
Tbh its just more expensive than the z900 , less perfect than the cb1000r. Out of the japanese I4 this is just not the best option in any specific area unless you want the design
Appreciate you sharing! Yes I owned a Z900 in 2019, loved the bike and it had better range. But the heart rules for me in this case, I love the design of the Katana, it speaks to me
Let me preface this with the fact that I am an extremely happy Navi owner. There is just no way I could handle riding in an area like that on stock shocks. I'd have to do something to it beforehand, LOL!
Indeed, the suspension was the worst part of this trip …. “shock”ingly bad suspension but of course it’s a very budget oriented bike 😀 Still fun though
@@GMizzoney-uv4zd I tell everyone it's the most fun you can have on two wheels for anything near that price point. I tell people it's like when you were a kid ripping around a go kart track. You weren't going fast but it 'felt' like you were. Then the dude would wave you in an ruin the fun because your time was up. A Navi is like being back at that go kart track as a kid with no one to tell you when to stop riding. 😂
I had an '82 1000. I love the look of the new ones but I haven't bought one...yet.
Yes I had been wanting one ever since they came out, glad I finally did it!
Suzuki could easily make this easily look future proof.
I had a 1994 Katana 750 that had the full fairing...top speed was 146.
The katana is the coolest sport bike I have ever seen.
Heck yeah it is 😀
Best video yet hahahah so funny!! Hilarious when you open the second one and all the cheese goes flying 😂😂😂

😂
That’s a weird looking motorcycle…. 😂
Love the green color. Wish they would offer a grom in that shade of green.
I've owned both 400sm and 400e. The new "expected" 2025 model should have efi and 6 speed minimum. I expect abs possibly and a bigger tank. I hope not too much more to keep price low....
Yeah I just read about that, if it happens I think Suzuki will sell them as fast as they can make them!
Great times! Thanks for having me 😂
What a good time! I'm looking forward to running some of those same stretches soon. Thanks for the adventure
Been wanting to do the wabdr...no adv riding buddies though....😢 Located Olympic Peninsula
This was a trip for my brother’s old SL-350.

Very inspiring! I have been working on my DRZ to get it into shape for this exact trip. I was hoping to do the whole thing this year... but I may not have the time.
wow
By any chance do you have gps tracks for the bypass routes? I’m starting the WABDR (n to S) next week then onto the ORBDR and concerned about the fire closures. You said 1,2,&5 are closed? Man, that totally sucks!
Hello! Half of 5 was closed, we did find out that 2 is now open. If interested though I could probably share our revised routes for 1 and 2
@@GMizzoney-uv4zd if one is closed, I’d love to know your detour! Looked like a legit challenge and my riding buddies and I are up for a challenge.
