I understand Waites was a difficult actor, but I really liked his character. He was the brains and wisdom of the gang, but he knew his place as well. Cleo was cool, but it's understandable why he was rubbed out.

I really wish they could have finished the story in one form or another.

This Is Andersons best film imo, I just wish he could upgrade the digital vfx so they look good today. I always thought that was the whole point doing digital anyway.

What a wild movie. The plot is incoherent, the messaging is all over the place, you can tell tthey put a lot of effort into this, and somehow roped in some big name talent at the time, but then the acting is so awful, and the talent is so under-utilized. They had no direction, no vision. It's a total mess but as a kid it was a visual feast and it sparked my imagination. It took so many different ideas and concepts and genres and mashed them all together into this truly creative and clever movie. It they had a better screen play and better director with the same resources, they could have made a much better movie.
