I’ve heard some insane stuff done with computers. I use computers for recording into as a track recorder and for mastering. Nothings going to replace the computer for tracking that’s for sure

@ remember when the Triton came out very few could afford it. Korg is the same way who has Kronos money and that is why DAW’s with VST became popular because people could afford VST’s.

Both are standalone with outputs into mixer then to computer if I want to record it

There was a point I had to do a factory reset to get it to work. Maybe it’s just that unit then. I thought maybe it was because it’s an older ONE or something. I got it used for cheap for my kids to mess with. Thanks for pointing that out. I wouldn’t have known.

You have to upgrade it connected to the computer the first time going to mpc3 then it upgrade the second one on Wi-Fi

I was able to update to mpc3 beta 2 through Wi-Fi after the initial computer connected update. It may have been a glitch and you might try to update it again and see if it will work with Wi-Fi

​@LewhaMusic whille building a beat its way more beneficial for me to just delete the notes rather than just mute them. I mean if i want a sequence without hihats I copy the sequence and remove the hihats. Super simple and quick. What is the point of keeping midi on the grid if you are just going to have it muted? Having a work flow that is dependent on track mutes sounds extremely cluttered and is not it for me.

The oldest mpcs have this function. I’ve never used the grid editor nor will I use the linear arranger. Everyone is different.

@@errliest That is destructive workflow. this does not work for song mode which most of us MPC users have had since day one, We need track mutes back how it was because this arranger is slow and hard to play with arrangement ideas on the fly. I want to use the arranger but for automation and mixing after I have converted it in song mode. Check Marlow's video on how this use to work. We can have the best of both worlds, instead of taking it away from us

@@LewhaMusicnot really destructive when the same notes are usually easily accessible in another sequence. I can always copy the notes from 1 sequence to another. I use song mode and have zero issues with with not using track mutes. I make my sequences the way I like them then string them together in song mode. Convert song to its own sequence maybe edit it a little in grid view or arrangement then add vocals. I saw his videos his workflow does not really interest me much. If you learn the machine in and out there are so many ways to achieve the same goal especially with the newer mpcs. Also pretty positive they will implement track mutes back into 3.0 in its final release. If they dont then just dont update or find a new piece of gear that suits your needs better. You have to remember its in very early stages of the beta and they are not going to be able to make everyone happy.

Totally understand. I was going to stay on mpc 2 and another producer I work with closely went to beta so we’d be on different OS platforms it would have been to hard to communicate with this midi stuff we are getting into

@@ET2carbon less menu screens. All my programs are open. I don’t have to go through the touch screen to manipulate the individual sounds. Each machine is playing it’s own program

@@MPCandGuitar are you triggering the programs on the center X though so the sound character and timbre are the same or are you using certain programs on each like those news cuts?

The only thing the MPCx does to the other machines is start stop. It has the bass lines too. For example in this case the mpc5000 with the drums on it has its own drum sequences directly recorded on to it. I’m not playing the 5000 drums from the x. So I can do all my track mutes. Watch my “ Techno Drum and Bass for the whack DJ” it’s a better represention of the programming

Ya for sure. I’m in the process of recording all the beats I made on MPC 2.0 before they do the update to 3.0. I’m going to have different players coming in and adding what they feel and taking video of them for YT too
