@ezbgames im sure you will keep SWR, for me by far the best of the three. Really dislike WOTR, i like the streamlined version in Dune but i can't quite find the same Epic feeling that i get in SWR (BUT dune is so much quicker to setup and play...). Waiting for the KS exclusive expansions to try them and see if i keep Dune !

I have to tell you that I absolutely LOVE War of the Ring. It is SUCH a good game in my opinion.. I just bought the 2 decades edition of the base game and two expansions. It's a masterpiece

I'll try to answer to my best knowledge but I'm sure Bryan the designer or Rudy the community manager can elaborate.. You can assault a hex even without applying damage to whatever is situated there. The important thing is if after the damage phase there is still something there or not.

Designer here - Yes, easiest way to think of it is the wheels or boots of the unit are moving onto the hex, and their guns are pointing whereever they are able to. As for the Tank Trap, think of each Hex at a bigger scale, hexes in the same scale of the units would probably have to be 6 inches, which wouldn't fit on many tables. The Jeep is trying into an area with the tank trap, "Assaulting" that area. it cannot keep driving through the tank trap unless it is destroyed, that probably makes more sense to the scaling. Hope that helps visualize it.

If I understood it correctly, the jeep is assaulting the same hex where the tank trap is, but will miserably fail and retreat 1 hex as it cannot be destroyed by the jeep?

But it can be destroyed by other units that will assign damage to that hex

@@ezbgames So KNOWING that you’re not going to assign damage to the tank trap, you could still assault that hex in order to gain (or escape) sight on an enemy unit, fail the assault at no risk to yourself, then retreat back into a ‘valid’ hex?

Thank you so much Pierre 😊 I'm glad you found the video useful.. I think that teaching while playing and showing the game is the best way. Also, a small tip (maybe you already know this), try to have only one of the 4 Victory conditions available in the first game. Usually I use only the Globalization (I think) which means you need to have 2 kingdom cards more than the other players. Then, when players are comfortable with the game, use the full 4 victory conditions.

I didn't choose specific cards, but I did make sure that I will have specific icons on some of the cards while doing the video

@@ezbgames I do watch a lot of videos on UA-cam and I have never seen the amount of ads like I have seen on this video. Normally it would be every 15-20 minutes on a longer video. You do have some control over it. if you go into settings, you can actually set where your ads appear. You can also turn the ads off. I’m letting you know this for your benefit. You can also contact UA-cam and ask them why 3 ads appear in 9 minutes. It’s not normal….4 ads in 15 minutes. 5th ad at 26:00. 6th ad at 29:00 You want to keep viewers, yes? Too many ads does not encourage subs.

@@ezbgames a lot of people have ad blockers (browsers) so they may not be seeing any ads at all. I use the UA-cam app on my iPad so there is no blocking.

The pleasure is all mine 😊 I have to agree with that statement.. 2nd edition in this game feels more like 9th edition. It is absolutely incredible and I can't wait to receive my pledge with all the other backers.

I think that in order to do a review I should first of all get the entire pledge and try everything including the free for all missions (super excited for that) and also the solo mode. So yes of course, I'll do a review, but will take months from now.. But for now, the changes are amazing and I feel that the game got SO MUCH BETTER!!! I'm very excited about getting the pledge already 🤩🤩

I agree with you on all accounts. Maybe it would have been better to say that this criticism is more towards the ranking method on BGG. But for me, EU should ranked at 5. I'd assume that you're a heavy player (which is great!) so for you I might be exaggerating, but that's how I felt atleast. Now if this game is not AS COMPLICATED as some of its audience claim, then I will just repeat my point that I think the rulebook is not good at all. Mechanism by mechanism, I guess that EU is not as complicated as maybe other games are, but it all falls on how clear you manage to do the rulebook. In anycase, I appreciate you for taking the time to not only watch the video, but also comment on it and contribute to the conversation.

I mean.. everyone is entitled to an opinion 😊 I think this game will have a different audience than Voidfall. Yes, it is in the same universe, but they are two COMPLETELY different games. There's nothing to compare.. this game is much lighter and is about worker placement mainly. I can see advantages to both while at the same time it's totally normal that the audience who liked Voidfall will not find their cup of tea over here..
