I read "Feast of Sorrow" and just finished "The Chef's Secret," which I thoroughly enjoyed.. OMG -- when Barto & Stella snuck into the Borgia apartment for a secret tryst, I thought how does Crystal King think this stuff up?! So amazing. Just bought "In the Garden of Monsters" and started reading it. Can't put it down! Thank you for your artistry and in-depth research. I learn so much when I read your books. I'm in Rome right now and tempted to make a day trip to Bomarzo....Vedremo....

Enjoyed the book, but I found an error. At some point, you compared someone to a woman from a Pre-Raphaelite painting. You said something about seeing these paintings in a book of Italian art. Look up the Pre-Raphaelites and you will see the time and place mistakes.

Thank you for this interview! I just finished listening to The Witch of Tin Mountain on Audible. I love this book for so many reason. Historical fiction is my favorite genre. My maternal grandmother and her family are from Oklahoma and Arkansas. I love a good witchy story. And I’m very interested in natural healing. Now that I’ve listened to the story, I’ll be ordering the book so I can savor, take notes and study it! I’m reading Parting the Veil next!

I had just finished reading this novel before finding this interview. I really loved it. Was excited to learn of a historical fiction book from women's perspective since my maternal grandmom entered the USA from Hungary in 1913 with a female cousin (both alone, age 19). This story exposed some dangers that could beset young women. Also, have visited Ellis Island twice so the author's descriptions were awesome. Recommend a good read.

I really learned a lot about the war in the Philippines by reading this book. The two main characters, Tess and Flor, and their sisterhood of nurses engaged my interest in how they survived while striving to serve the troops. Thank you for the interesting interview which covered the background research and writing process. I hope to recommend this book to my book club and others.
