The Roxy is not a theater...
And that wasn't adlibing just amazing
Zappa forever and a day I listen to Joe's garage in it's entirety at least every other year and watermelon in Easter hay is one of the best pieces of music ever it's right up their with black napkins which happens to also be by Zappa
George Duke!!
The Picasso of the electric guitar !
FRANK ZAPPA GENIUSZ GENIUSZ GENIUSZ nad GENIUSZAMI KOSMOS KOCHANI na zawsze dziękuję BARDZO
Man, what a great bassist Tom Fowler is, killer tone too.
And there you have it....The maestro himself.
I attended this show, I remember it well. Great experience. Really nice to revisit what I was musically hearing after so many years. Brilliant.
Give that cameraman a water break
thanks
But what’s this thing with TWEEZERS? I never understod then and still I don’t get it.
Las virtudes de un genio atemporal y sus fantásticos acompañantes. Irrepetible , único y por encima de casi todo. IMPRESIONANTE !.
Incredible. That band could do anything.
napoleon's flute solo went ridiculously hard
Man that is some serious get down boogie I love it thank you I don't know how I caught that but it was very good my name is hootie from Johnstown Pennsylvania loving it no not hootie who d like Rudy just change the first letter of Rudy and replace it with an
When asked how he would like to be remembered Frank remarked " It's not important to be remembered."
Best era of Zappa music. early to mid seventies. Apostrophe , Over nite sensation. Brilliant albums. Live at roxy was also a great live album

@surefire420 moi je donne 100 coup de pouce toi met toi le dire ( feu) et va jouer sur l'autoroute ha ha ha ha 😂 ( Guy platteau Marseille)
what a band!
I thought I had seen most of the good Zappa footage. Roxy was always my favorite Zappa LP. The clip lately with the wonderful performance with Pamela the dancer was sheer satisfaction. Now this--- starting with Montana, arriving at a disassembled trombone, lots of precision chaos, then a mind bending free jam in 5/8 that is uncountable, and ending with Frank demonstrating how long it takes to get your guitar in perfect tune by playing with Duke on piano while checking all the harmonics on the guitar. What could be better?
George Duke makes it so jazzy !! So important for Zappa's music ❤😊😊
I saw this band as well.in NYC.where the crowd was extremely noisy. Halloweens year after year!
Don't dig it.
Fragos, the mediocre guitar player stood there like a dumb ass tune on his guitar like every other dumbass guitar player who doesn’t know how to play guitar all the good players plug-in and start shredding never could stand this fucking music
Zach glickman rules
Great concert❤❤❤
1973, ...it was 50 years ago.. still fresh, and refreshing.
Who the hell has 2 drummers ???? Frank Zappa that's who!!!!!!
Amazing stuff. Brilliant and Bizarre and entertaining as could be !!! With loads of talent from all of them.
Love Duke's clavinet and innovative synthesizer playing; but when he is on that Rhodes, his sense of harmony is truly is something special. Even the comping during the unplanned guitar tuning at 29:28 is great.
Zack Glickman plays a pretty mean guitar, don't you think?
What kinda irks me is that this footage was a teaser for what would eventually be released as the ROXY: The Movie DVD. That DVD did finally come out, but both of these stellar performances aren't in the movie. Kinda like the thumbnail for the YT video but that teaser isn't part of the video.
Who is Zak Glipman? Love Frank, genius. ❤ but... Dental flossing never the same experience after watching the Montana video.
Paradies!! Unglaublich zum Komponieren und perfekt abzuliefern! There many Frank's Treasueres around!!! Alex B.
When Frank is tuning its hard to know if he is just tuning or its actually part of the composition. I mean, he did play a bicycle on the Steve Allen Show so you never know
This is a brilliant performance! Frank is the man, and his musicians are the best!
Part of the appeal of FZ is that the majority of people have never “got it” which reveals something about the caliber of most “music lovers”
Zappas Truppe in Stockholm hatte genau solche Klasse wie hier in diesem Film... 🎈
Say what this is insane in di brain yo
Simplemente El Mejor.
