This Is PERFECT for Filmmakers | Comica VM40 Shotgun Mic
#filmmaker #cinematography #contentcreation
Thanks to the folks over at Comica for sending me this microphone!
This is one of the most useful microphones I have ever looked at. It has so many cool features including 32-bit float audio and 32GB of internal storage. This thing is a BEAST of a microphone, especially for filmmakers and content creators.

America Made A HUGE Mistake
Переглядів 22421 годину тому
The system has failed us once again. I was very sad with the turnout of this election. We've chosen the very thing we've been fighting against to lead us. I still can't wrap my mind around how blindly and arrogantly people have chosen. I try not to get too political, but this was a huge loss. So, I tried to capture my feelings with this film. #filmmaker #cinematography #election

This Extremely CHEAP Lens Will Surprise You
By the way, your Amazon v40 link doesn't work, it says unavailable. Thanks for the content.
It should be working now! Thanks for the heads up!
@ThatOneVirgil You're welcome
Wonderful presentation sir!
I will never purchase a Comica product again🤣 Love the VM20 though. My VM40 arrived jacked up!👎🏼
Did you order on Amazon? I've worked with Comica a few times in the past on my main account and never really had an issues. 🤷♂️
@ yep, Amazon. I just got the refund, stuck with my VM20 & kept it pushing. Damaged shock mount, and all.😤
Damn, dude. I'll be honest, I think Amazon does some sneaky stuff with sending people broken return items, or refurbished items, and hoping the customer doesn't notice. I've been suspicious about that for years.
@@ThatOneVirgil yeah. Never know.
Dramatic ass fucking child 😂😂 This is why making decisions is for adults, and not children living some pretend fantasy in their head where Trump is the big bad meanie and you have to defeat him. You're like 30. Grow the fuck up jfc
ThatOneVirgin lol
Good one 🙄
Womp womp
Love your style though man really strong editing and cinematography keep it up
🤣 you know what? I'll take it, man. Lol 🙏
The system worked perfectly. Americans voted, and despite the endless smear campaign over trump, weaponized courts, and democrat fearmongering, he won. Make America great again.
🍊
this was hard to watch. not the election but just you getting emotional over the orange man
I mean, it's technically film so technically it's acting for camera, but also yeah I'm not a fan of the orange man, so... 😅
The dems were so out of touch with the American ppl that they rather have a convict in charge. Then there was all the nonsense that the Left has been pushing over the years. Not really shocked at the results.
I just work here 🤷♂️
@@ThatOneVirgil I mean, you can't call it a "failure" because most ppl didn't vote the way you wanted. Or the non-voters (like myself) didn't participate in a failing system. Just saying...
@@ronynninjastar2414 non-voters are part of the problem. It isn't a failure because "I didn't go the way I wanted". It's a failure because we've accepted the very thing our entire country has been fighting against as it's leader... just saying.
@@ThatOneVirgil maybe the left needs to look at flaws in their own party before playing the blame game. All that anti-traditional American propaganda didn't help. Shaming black men for not wanting to vote or not voting for Kamala didn't help. There's plenty of reasons why he got a landslide victory. I'm just gonna leave it at that.
@@ronynninjastar2414 You said you didn't vote, but I feel like I know who you support - and I'll leave it at that
nice bro
Thanks!
Geigh…
Only on Fridays. Oh, would you look at that...
@@ThatOneVirgil to be fair though... they BOTH are nothing more than actors..& all this shit is predetermined LOL
Done Homie Real good
Glad I could help!
this is the best one i found so far. Thx! Is there also a way to add more bass to your voice
Thanks! In terms of adding bass, it can be difficult. A lot of factors affect that. (Your natural voice register, the mic you use, preamps, etc.). So, here are a few simple tips for a more bass-rich sound. 1. Use the best mic you have. Most cheaper mics lack low-end. 2. Use the Proximity Effect to your advantage - the closer to the mic your mouth is the more bass you'll get. 3. Try to avoid pushing your low-end with EQ too much. Subtle adjustments of 1dB or so are enough, but it varies. You can't add much to what isn't already there, hence tip 1). Hopefully, these will get you on the right path! Maybe this idea needs a video. 🤘😉🤘
Great video!!
Thanks! 😊
U should also have cleaned that audio that u used outside once with basic automatic tools to show what's it capable no one uses directly recorded audio without tuning them
Yes, but this is a transparent demonstration of what the mic does on its own.
@@ThatOneVirgil Exactly, thank you for being transparent
Thank you so much for this🙌🏾
Glad I could help! 😊
I"m already 3:32 into the video and I haven't learned anything yet. Please make a shorter video, please.
No thanks 😊
I was just thinking the same thing. Creators like to make their video a certain length because UA-cam Algorithms favor pushing them out more. But, you did learn ( Pro Tip) how to hand-hold your clip-on mic!
I've got an upcoming dual mic interview to record. Thanks for a simple approach to try out on the audio/dialogue.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!
Glad I could help!
Anyone that understands this.. let me know.. makes absolutely no sense
It's literally just 3 color grades
@@ThatOneVirgil 3 bad color grades.. thats why I thought this was satire
@@AaronOverEverything 👍
nobody cares?
People do
Why are all these UA-camrs holding those mics in their hands? Just looks silly to me. Other than that great video😊
This has been a topic of debate for a while. Firstly, it gets the best audio out of the mic, so it's practical. Secondly, it's become the norm for social media. I don't mind it. Now, I wouldn't want to see it done in a movie, but in other video formats it's fine. Think of it like "man on the street" or game show hosts. It's not a new look 😊
Man … it just drives me nuts… it’s ridiculous… they wanna speak about pro audio and they look like amateurs … no idea why no one simply plug a lav mic and paste it under their shirt, between their chest..
@@ThatOneVirgil The best sound could also be achieved by pluggin in a lav mic, which doesn't look absolutely ridiculous.
zoomers love it because it's 'low effort'
@@StuartHetzler And, I think it is funny when the presenter puts his taking head video on the screen to cover the actual information we are trying to learn. So many do it, serves no purpose, except to fill some psychological need ??
thank you
Glad I could help! 😉
This is a great video dude. You're doing an incredible job - overlays, lighting, audio, it's all great. Keep going, you're going to be huge one day. 👊
Thanks dude! I really appreciate the kind words. 😌
I'm simultaneously trying to figure out my podcast audio as he is explaining in real time. If you ever want some before and after's, I got you. 3 days into Resolve from garage band LOL
Nice! Well, I also use Reaper a lot for my music, but Davinci integrates so well with all of my audio plugins I just do it in the box. 😊
@@ThatOneVirgil oh, I'm sure I'll be working my way up to understanding how to do that... I guess I didn't realize the journey I had undertaken.
@@MugsyTheCreator haha yeah... We've all had that experience. Hate to yell ya, but the more you know the more you realize you don't know 😉
Its crazy how complicated videography is, truly man youre spreading some wisdom people need with this one
Thank you! Glad I could help people out! 😊
It is a cool look, but I prefer snow halation over this version ;)
Snow halation?
love you bro continu♥♥♥
Thanks 😊 🙏
It’s not halation It’s bloom.
It is halation
Well, I'm "older people", and, to me, wide-screen was always more cinematic, because it was what set the big screen apart from usually cheaper looking TV stuff. Having said that, I can see how a more square format can be a creative choice nowadays.
pretty accurate ngl lmaoo
😅😅😅
A very tragic story...
The most tragic 😥
and then on a day in the future while you try to sleep the idea appears once again only to taunt you with its fleeting presence before once again vanishing
It's true 😔
Song name?
It's a royalty free track in UA-cam's database
I have a Fulaim X5 which I love. I also have a cheaper wired lav which sounds better plugged directly into my iPhone 12pm BUT worse when plugged into the Fulaim!!!
Some phone preamps can sound great! Mine is destroyed though 😅
Huge facts in this one.
😎📽🎞
lensgo test al the machines before shipping. Thats the reason there are some drops in the machine
Thanks for the info!
subscribed. fire shorts brah.
Thanks! 😊
alright... about to grab one..
Nice! Hit that link in the description!
thats cool
They're pretty sweet 😋
I got a sweet LED flashlight lantern at Dollar Tree . literally the best lamp ever. For a dollar. Its a 3" square by 1" thick
Nice! Those are always the best finds
All very well said. I have plenty of mics and recorders, but it is my Rode Wireless Pro kit that I grab when I have limited space in my bag or whenever I do not know in advance what I will need. So much versatile and I have zero problem with the sound quality either. Sometimes I even use it with shotgun mics so that I can avoid a cable jumble. It can work as mono or stereo mics, can even record three people in interviews, it is a pair of 32bit floating point recorders, wireless/radio kit, clipon mics, USB audio interface... it can be connected to virtually anyting, or can be used stand alone, even without the receiver turned on... Yes, I would probably not use them in a Hollywood movie, but come on, I never shoot Hollywood movies.
I agree! 😊
I bought one as soon as it came out and still use it to this day. Used it for street interviews, for short films, for live performances and jam sessions, field recordings, ambient recordings, and table-reads. Unbelievable microphone for $200 (at least when I bought it).
Hell yeah! I was surprised to see this mic has held its value over all these years - it hasn't really changed since i got it 10 years ago!
Doesn't the blue yeti have a similar feature?
Not that I'm aware of
Is this different from an omnidirectional microphone?
So, don't quote me on this, but I would say yes... sort of. Omnidirectional mics pick up audio from all directions and (usually) only in a mono signal. This mic combines 2 polar patterns (XY and MS) into a stereo signal. Hopefully, that makes sense. 😅
dude sounds more like "ThatOneVirgin" lol. he should try and find a mic that adds some bass to his voice.
You feel better now?
Had one for 2 years. Bought another. Make sure the direction you want is correct. But DAMN! ITS GREAT!
I agree!
yeah, I've experienced this with my H4n-Pro as well. Zoom makes some really solid field recorders.
I agree! Especially since it's lasted me all these years. 😮
yup, i'm looking for one now
😊 Glad you like it
LOL!!!!! You landed here too?! AHAHAHAHAHA! I'm on the hunt...
i hope it’s not the one ur using to record this
The reason being..?
