Wow, you are a brave man! You are willing to document yourself, no matter what you do. Listen, I totally get that those stairs are temporary, so that gets you a “free pass” for the most part. But let the record show that this is the worst stair building video on you tube. Even as a temporary stairs, you could have made them better AND made it easier on yourself. So I shall set aside all further criticism and only make one suggestion: add a temporary hand rail to your temporary stairs. And put the hand rail on the wall side so as to not restrict access while carrying materials up & down the stairs.

Speaking personally, I abhor social media - with the sole exception of UA-cam videos like yours. As a few other commenters have said there is a welter of renovation videos but I, like them, have chosen a few that appeal to my own ideas of education and entertainment. I find your musings, even a tad depressed very interesting. Your mention of Marion's calmness was well expressed and I certainly concur. She is clearly your rock and will certainly keep you going until you both complete this massive project. Keep it up and all the luck in the world....

Pains me to see you struggling with the Claw Head Hammer trying to Pry Rusty nails, Try a longer Tool like a Pry Bar or "Crow Foot" Crow Bar you will have the benefit of Leverage on your side Andean standup straighter as well, making it much easier on your back too. I learnt this much like you the hard way...After much toil in the same fashion you find your self before discovering this much more suitable method.

Why didn't you work right to left so that you can stand on the old floor to remove the joists, then have the landing of the stairs to stand on?
