I have taken on many projects throughout the years, from building cars, trucks, motorcycles, atvs and dirtbikes. I decided to start sharing my experiences along with how-to in maintenance, repairs and rebuilds. All this is done on a modest working man's budget. I am not an expert or certified on anything, more of a jack of all trades. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching.

SUZUKI QUADRACER HOW-TO Change ATV Tires & Alignment
Переглядів 14021 день тому
Changing out the original 1989 front atv tires for some fresh rubbers. My way may be a little different than most, but it works for me, and it's pretty cheap. You'll need a vehicle with a steering wheel and a pair of beautiful willing to work for food working hands. I'll share a couple of techniques to lessen the struggles, too. Then we'll get the front end properly aligned on the atv. I'm doin...

Haha love your face 😘
I’m curious can you replace out the ball joints on a 2002 Trx 300ex?
I'm not 100%, but I believe they can be pressed out, but are the parts available? I'd have to look into that. I haven't done this yet, but guys have cut them off, drilled out the hole in the a-arm, and added a bolt on adjustable heim joint. Might be something to look into or just drop the 💰 on aftermarket a-arms. If I ever need to do this, I'll make a video. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
2 days ago, nice. I'm re-checking all the work I've done on my 1990 S10 and now back at the drums to make sure I did everything right. I noticed although my brakes did work, I had to push the pedal down quite a ways for them to actually stop. I tightened the drums up a few clicks and that was enough for them to engage earlier in the brake pedal travel and they're tighter too. I just needed to know how it should feel by hand when you spun it after adjusting. Also it gets slightly tough to spin in one section of the drum but frees up the rest of the way, so I'm guessing slightly warped new drums? Oh well, lol. Some folks say it needs to be free enough to spin it easily with one hand, others said a little resistance to pushing it, so yeah. Good video!
I'm really happy to hear. I prefer a positive brake pedal over .7 mpg 😉. If you have a slight grab, possible a poorly cut drum if all is installed correctly. Perhaps back off a click or so to try to find a happy medium. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you very much for reaching out and watching. 🤘😄
The voice over sounded great. Glad you did a good job and didn't put the s10 in someone's livingroom lol.
Thanks, I was hoping it would come together pretty decent. Thank you for watching.
Wow you work really fast 😉
Monster kicked in! 😆
That kid grew up real fast!
Yep, I love it when he comes to help with some stuff in the shop. He's pretty comfortable in front of the camera.
LMAO! Neighbors car... To hard, let a friend do it! lol... Interesting and informative with a little humor, great job! Oh and great intro by Cole!
Aww, both my guys. 🖤 love you both.
He did a really great job! I'm looking forward to him jumping in more in the future. ❤️
Your solution, my tupperware 😘
Hot out there, huh? 😊
Yep, struggles were had, but mission completed. Thank you for watching.
Great video. Thank you
You're welcome. Thank you for watching and letting me know. If you have one of these, I wish you the best of luck. This bike has been a struggle to keep trail worthy.

😆 🤣 Thanks for watching
Let me know if I should hire the guy who removed the plastics. 😂
He's nice, eye candy!
I swear that's the same jar of anti seize since we bought our house in 2007!
@RachelPower-qn4pl a little smear goes a looong ways. If it actually lasted that long it would come with a loan application 🙃
I don't know, he had a little bit of attitude there at first! lol
@jackiemattox2715 that's a new guy.... thinking they know it all. 🤷🏻♂️
Geat video!
Thanks
Just tried this. My throttle cable is too long. Did you have to change yours? Ran out of adjustment
Yes, it was. I remember I noticed after I recorded. I used a part of a bicycle brake part as a spacer. It's hard for me to describe. It's the metal sleeve usually on the end of the plastic part of a brake cable. I put it in between the throttle cable end and the throttle slide cap of the carb. It's basically inside the rubber sleeve thats attached to the cap.. Just make sure it's going to pull out the slack and not get stuck in any way, causing the throttle to not close all the way. I hope I'm not confusing you, too much. This has been working for me. Hope this helps you figure it out. Thank you for watching.
I did this to mine and it’s dumping to much gas ?
I tuned the carb lean- pilot, needle & main to counter the homemade air box. Still slightly on the fat side with the provided jets, but runs better than previous setup. My favorite part is the bike starts right up. That was always my nightmare from out the box with this thing. If I come up with something else I'll make an update. Thanks for watching.
Do you think decals will stick to these plastics well? In the process now but I don’t want to waste the decals if they won’t stick to restored plastic
After the process, I cleaned the area where the decals were going to go with some auto paint prep cleaner or like a windex without alcohol. Then, I applied the decals. Mine are still holding up just fine, and they're cheap replica decals. I hope your works out, too. Thanks for watching.
Got a link to the spacer?
Thank you asking. I didn't realize I never added them. The parts are now in the description. You will need to copy and paste. I'm currently unable to add links in my descriptions. I think it's bc the channel isn't big enough. Thank you for watching.
Loved the montage 😂
😆 thanks. Have to have some fun! Thank you for watching.
Hey man, watched these videos about 5 times each lol. Almost finished the 250x. Hows the light working out? And do you have a part # for the light and converter. Thanks
That's so cool to hear. I put the parts in the video description. Pretty simple to find them on amazon or ebay. I'm just unable to add links at this time. Thank you so much for watching.
@@NOURSEPOWER thanks, damn ive searched both up and down and not one that looks the same or a light with those same mounting brackets. Ive done every replacement if the videos, diff is i did take it down to bare frame and paint everything and wire wheel or replace every bolt. It def wont be seeing any mud lol
@andysilbereisen2 copy, I'll see if I can get a link to at least copy and paste on here. Thanks for being patient
@@andysilbereisen2 added a copy and paste link in the description. That converter isn't the exact same but is the same. I apologize, but I'm just unable to add links in descriptions at this time.
Thanks bro. Funny cause thats the one i ordered yesterday. And did you the 20x10 or 20x11 rear tires
How do you know which screw goes where
Are you referring to the side cover?
Well, I now know how to take a chain off of a bike.. :)
Screwdriver and a hammer 🔨 👌 😆
Geat video! Looking forward to pt. 2!
Thanks for watching 😀
Does it matter what order you put them into the clutch case?
No, not on this bike. Thank you for watching. Apologies, I didn't explain much in the video. I was still getting used to the whole camera deal.
That only works for a short time
Def not comparing to new oem or even new aftermarket plastics. It's just a budget friendly way to take the bike from looking old & tired to clean & way more attractive. Thank you for watching. I'm going to run her hard and will at some point do an honest follow-up.
I see a lot of comments about how heat only works for a short time. I can see if you are only using heat, but if you sand off the top layers and get down to into the plastic, why would it not maintain the shine at least as long as it did the first time? Also, what if you sand it down, use heat to make it shine, and then apply as plastic adhesion promoter and about 5 layers of clear coat on top? Would that outer clear coat protect the shine? I’m asking because I am considering doing this on the plastics of a red 1985 Honda ATC 110.
What oil you deep them in
I use the same oil I put in the case. Or maybe a little cheaper oil bc I let the clutch break in for a day of riding and then change over to the better oil. I'm running Lucas Mc semi synthetic oil 10w-40, right now.
👍🏾🤘🏾
Thanks for watching
They way you’re saying nibbi the first time is the right way 😂😂
😆 thanks, my friend. So far, so good on that purchase. This is a bike, I just don't want to put much money into it, but I have worked hard to get it safe and reliable. Thank you for watching.
bro, its funny i looked up how to sand atv plastics and this the same quad i got 😂😂
😆 #savesportquads Thanks for watching, I hope you can save yours, too.
@@NOURSEPOWER thinking of just buying maiers mine have huge gouges and chips
@viceanime7685 Don't feel defeated, my friend. These plastics and bikes take a beating. I'm surprised the materials used from back then haven't become so brittle, they crack just from looking at them at this point. It's really nice we still have the aftermarket option. ##savesportquads
Don't know why people trip when someone takes care of there stuff and makes it look good.....they don't make these machines anymore so....restore it...especially the plastics
True words here. I agree with you ##savesportquads. Plastics are not cheap either, so if the oem just need some love, to me, it's worth the try. I know you can go another level of effort in restoration, but I plan to ride this machine. If it was too nice, i wouldn't want to get her dirty. Lol. Thank you for watching, my friend.
Just wanna say thanks, im working on a 92 250x and your videos are excellent. Anymore info on the front shocks. Thanks
Awesome, thank you for watching. I got the shocks off ebay they're dual rate air shocks for 250x. Slight upgrade from stock but huge step from 38yr old shocks. Lol. I took the spacer off the stock oem shock and cut to about 3/4". No issues yet.
Awesome video!!!! I’m in the process of redoing 1984 Honda ATC 200ES rear fenders. I was afraid to put the heat to them, after watching this I’m not afraid to heat them lol. Thanks for making this. I as well ride my stuff in the woods and silt pits, so I want them to be nice, but still rideable.
Wow! Thank you for the kind words. Work your way up on the heat steps, keep moving, and push it along. You'll see the shine pushing away the dullness once you're doing it. I'm really happy to help, and thank you for watching. 😃
Very informative especially the jet sizing. Subbed.
Loved the donuts at the end.
Don't worry I don't need that Tupperware.
I don't know what you're talking about. 😬
“Restore atv plastics!” After realizing the brighter colors don’t work. “oh it’s an Atv for the woods” bruh what? Smh
The gray and red both came out clean and bright for 1987 plastics. I wasn't going into a deeper buffing process with an atv that would be ridden on the trails again. Thanks for watching.
Nice work. I have to do my 08' 400ex bushings & my fathers 09' Foreman 500 4x4 bushings. This was nice & straight forward now I know I can pack that sucker full!
Awesome! Yes, don't be shy with the grease and clean off the excess to keep dirt from sticking to it. Have fun! Thank you for watching. 😃
I didn't see you put the blue (carburetor?) hose back on?? <3 even though I have no idea...
Lol, nice catch! I assure you I did put the overflow tube back on. I ended up not adding that clip. Thanks for watching.
Great video! Learned a lot, thanks!
Happy to help. Thanks for watching!
Are those stock ball joints for a 250x? All the 300ex and 400ex ball joints are welded in and they no longer offer replacement A Arms.
You can cut the stock ones off and put bolt on style don't remember exactly where to cut but a quick Google search will tell you where
I just looked at my 400ex and if you measure the inside of the opposite side where the ball joint is welded then you know where to cut if that makes sense
@garrettraveling2059 thanks for sharing your knowledge in the comments. Helps keep the community growing. 👌
Where did you get those shocks mine are blown out great video
Got them off ebay. Search honda 250x air front shocks, 87-92 250x rear shock. 1 slight mod for front shocks. I took the spacer out from the old shock and basically cut it in half to use as a spacer for the new front shock lower bolt. Easy mod. Good shocks, slight upgrade from stock. Thanks for watching.
Also check out the Front end begins and ends in the Honda 250x playlist, for some more info. ua-cam.com/video/0ywbuDcF1wU/v-deo.htmlsi=pS488aB88uhrdQ5i
Nice! How the Heck did you figure it out? I would of never known that! How bright is it in the Dark While Riding?
"I wasn't hitting the right spot." That's what she said.
😆
My eyes are still pretty rough from dbl pink eye infection. It was a ruogh 40 days. Thanks for watching.
Heat is a temporary fix it’s gonna be back faded in a month or two.
The red I was thinking the same after a ride, but even after a wash and a recoat of the shine restorer seemed to bring it right back. I haven't tried on all red or black plastics and those, I'm not sure yet. Thanks for sharing your input and watching the video.
I see a lot of comments about how heat only works for a short time. I can see if you are only using heat, but if you sand off the top layers and get down to into the plastic, why would it not maintain the shine at least as long as it did the first time? I’m asking because I am considering doing this on the plastics of a red 1985 Honda ATC 110.
@@coachwilson954 I would think clear coat on the plastic is a bad idea because it doesn’t have flex. And the clear will just crack. So it would shine but be cracked.
@@NOURSEPOWER so 7 months later how is it holding up?
@@TheH-Dfamily good point!
Thanks for this video. How did you fix the crack on the front?
Thanks for watching. I used a plastic welder. I do have a video on my channel where I show how I repaired the massive fender crack.
Great video!
