Welcome. Glad you made it here.
What you'll find is a collection of improvisational jams. A glimpse into my songwriting process as snippets attach and detach from one another and evolve as a cluster of ideas.
I enjoy playing around with different sounds from my pedals and so for those of you are interested, I include a signal chain breakdown and sometimes talk about creating more elaborate tones and the gear involved.
I hope you enjoy the content. I've enjoyed making it.

an exploration of a very specific feature on the Keeley Octa Psi
I've never really played with an expression pedal before, so this seemed like it might be fun... and it was. @KeeleyElectronicsEdmond Octa Psi fuzz on medium gain and multi-voice P4 setting with expression control. Reverb from the Hydra and Halo delay kicked in partway through.

Getting a little more experimental on the pedal side of things. Beetronics FatBee OD, JHS Artificial Blonde giving a slow vibrato, then Keeley Mag Echo set kind of like a reverb with maxed out mod section for a wild, wobbly pad of echo.

Another one that's been kicking around for a while, waiting to find its final form. Using the old Gibson ES 125 into a simplified board. Keeley Germanium Amplifier, Keeley Germanium Super Phat Mod, Big Ear Z-Delay. Splitting dual mono into 65 Princeton RI and Tweed 5F1 "Champ" kit build. Germanium fever in the air these days in the guitar circles... figured I'd throw a few things onto a board j...

sometimes it's a matter of sufficiently complicating the thing in order to contrast one side of it against the other. but the persistent recall contains a sense of longing for the yet to be imagined. Keeping things relatively simple with the signal chain here. it's a dry heat, they say but it's much more complicated than that. it's an entirely different climate, and it takes living there to understand on any significant level. 1979 Tokai Springy Sound, Keeley Germanium Amplifier, Keeley Blacktop Fuzz, Keeley Katana Blues Drive, Keeley Katana, Keeley Mag Echo (I sense a pattern here...), Keeley Eccos looping in stereo to Princeton 65 RI / Tweed 5F1 ki...

Dedicating a short improv tonight to the great Madison Cunningham. I'm making liberal use of her @jhspedals Artificial Blonde signature pedal for a sort of lo-fi warble stereo effect and taking inspiration in a number of ways from Madison's work. Signal chain: Norma something or other junker guitar that I completely rebuilt (TV Jones TArmonds), Keeley Germanium Amplifier, Beetronics FatBee, Kee...

It seems, sometimes, that the road circles around, and we find the old familiar in front of us again. The past leaps back to greet our slightly older selves. Our conflicts shelved, arise once more. We evolve slowly, oscillating around a nexus of joys and traumas. Waves combatting gravity along the horizon. The sun rests only in our perception. The illusion of control. One of these days I'll upgrade my camera. Silly thing having some issues with focus. There are just so many things to do, you know... But in the meantime, here's a little something calling back to my Charlie Hunter obsession days. Featuring the @KeeleyElectronicsEdmond I Get Around Rotary Simulator (new favorite pedal?). Number One With A Bullet! Lol......
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Thanks! Happy Release Week!
You got one already
@@bigtguitars7312 I just MIGHT have been the first one to place an order on release day 😉 And Keeley ships quick.
Nice tone brother, love the progression!
Appreciate it! I’m definitely going to see what else grows out of it.
Sounds terrific! I love the dynamic range! When you play soft, it's really incredible.
Thanks! I have always loved that about the Katana Blues Drive. Very responsive.
One question: what is a germanium? I think you mean "geranium."
read the info
@@pz29 it’s just a little pun. Germanium is an element that was commonly used to make transistors for electronics decades ago and can be used to make diodes as well. Silicon (not to be confused with silicone) is more stable and sort of the modern alternative. In the world of guitar pedals though, germanium is often attributed borderline magical properties for how components made with it sound.
NOICE!!
Hey Bru! I have not looked into the Fat Bee at all! Play on Bru...
It’s a cool FET based drive. I guess designed in collab with Howard Davis (Deluxe Memory Man). It fills a similar role to the Super Phat or BD-2 as an amp-y drive that can get into power amp fuzz territory. It has a unique voicing though, and really runs the spectrum of touch sensitive low gain to blown speaker fuzz.
Nice work Ted!
Stellar! Keep bringing it brother!
Hell yes!
Excellent, well played, that is a super cool guitar
Thanks! 1955 ES 125. All original except the knobs. Obviously missing the pickguard. My dad bought it off someone at work back in the 80s when I was a kid and it was always the guitar around the house growing up. Eventually my dad passed it to me and it's been fun having an old friend around. Solid build and I love the sound. They're still a relatively affordable way to get into a vintage archtop.
@@slantguitars that so cool, I’m going to try to get one
hell yes
What a killer combo! Sounds so fun <3
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't having a really good time with this particular set of pedals.
Nothing quite like a Ted Jackle jam with all Keeley pedals. So good! <3
I just saw this one and and jamming to it now, but the background noise level is really low and sounds great.
They sat together in the park As the evening sky grew dark She looked at him and he felt a spark Tingle to his bones
Love your compositions! <3
Thanks, man!
Yeah Bru. Got a, "Chill"in in a lounge," kinda feel. Cool beans a Big Congrants again!
❤❤
Thanks for making the Charing Cross sound so rad, Ted!
Thanks for making the Charing Cross, which sounds so rad! 😂
I'm digg'in the dusty! Rock&Roll!
Rock on 🤘 🎸 🔊
That's really nice playing and melody.
Appreciate it. Means a lot coming from someone who hangs out with the likes of Andy Timmons on the regular. 😅
Nice rig, Bru!
Thanks, man!
Very nice! <3
What's your signal chain here? Is it just the Frank here? Or is there some kind of modulation happening?
There is a touch of modulation with the 30ms Double Tracker. it has both a pitch (in cents) and time (in milliseconds) adjustment. This causes a slight chorus effect, but with our the circular oscillator running the whole time. Chorus without chorus. ;-)
Yup, just the 30ms going on for modulation on this one.
That was a wonderful piece of music.
Earth Fracking Huge Tone!
Beautiful tones.
Who else is on their third listen?!?!?!
Ha! Much appreciated! I was getting lost in that fuzz sustain.
You melt my heart Ted! I feel ya brother <3 <3
Loved it Ted! Looking forward to more.
Thanks for listening. I’m really trying to make recording these jams a regular thing.
Nice work Ted, liking the clean dissonant chord shapes from around the 5:40 mark. Cheers 😎
Thanks! That bit is part of a cluster of parts that I kind of have worked out as things that go together but I haven’t figured out how everything fits… I’ve always particularly liked that ringing arpeggio with the close intervals in there.
SUPERDUPER!
