From 03:49 I could think to New Order as the ideal band to play this.

I wouldn't call it awful, but I had fun checking it with a spectrum analyser, comparing the version you emailed me with the one in the uploaded video. Indeed in the latter there is a drastic cut to around 16.5K HZ while in the other one it's up to 22.1K HZ.

@@lostinmusik I've made the same test with my latest video, downloaded as mp3 at 128 Kbps and checked with the spectrum analyser. I've found out the same cut at 16.5K HZ. But now I've tested recording the audio straight while your video was playing and the high frequencies cut disappeared, so it's due to the app I used to convert l'audio del video.....

@@matt_one that is good to know. As my recordings are so low-tech in the first place I can’t afford to lose any clarity when the audio is converted to video!

@@lostinmusik There is a large uncultivated and inaccessible area to the side of my house, a kind of impenetrable forest consisting of bushes and small plants. Usually starting in February, these frogs perform a noisy concert from when darkness falls until midnight. The window of my bedroom/music studio faces this very area, so I am forced to keep it closed if I want to be able to hear what I am doing..... In any case, I always appreciate the concert every night, it is a natural and pleasant sound.

@@lostinmusik"The Perfect Kiss" is from 1985, I doubt they are the same frogs. But the sound is exactly the same and it's beautiful!

@@matt_one this has forced me to take a break from work in order to Google “how long do frogs live for?” and from this I have concluded you must be right. 39 years would be a very old for a frog and that would assume they had already matured from tadpoles prior to the recording of “The Perfect Kiss”. I was however surprised to hear they can live up to 20 years (so they might appear on some Kanye or Usher songs?)

The SHADO Interceptors were one of my favourite subjects in my primary school drawings, and I remember the terror I felt when I heard the sound emitted by the UFOs!

I was definitely not disappointed! It's not easy to make an interesting song at both normal and double speed. Have you even listened to it? Definitely do it, so you'll understand my point of view! 😅

​@@lostinmusik I was not joking, you see.... It has definitely something! Of course, done this way it loses some quality, especially on the drums sounds. Consider to make a double speed break beat version, by increasing the speed while preserving the original sounds. Regarding the voice you have two choice : keeping the original with double speed or re-record it with the new tempo and a little bit of anger 😱😄

@matt_one I’m definitely going to have to experiment with this and perhaps one other track I did years ago, which is a complete dirge in its current form but might sound more lively with a break beat.

That's what I had told him a while ago, too. I immediately thought of Blur after hearing his voice. And it would also be perfect for something in the electro-industrial genre like Frontline Assembly or Skinny Puppy.

And since we’re on the topic, I think Radiohead’s National Anthem would be my next choice for a more energetic endless loop song. I’m sure I’ll think of other songs later, but that one uses bass so brilliantly.

@@lostinmusik This makes it even more brilliant, I could not achieve such a result using an iPad (believe me, I tried). As for playing keyboards, unfortunately it's a skill I lost several years ago, having stopped doing it for almost 8 years. I practically play with one finger now, one key at a time.... ☹️

But you are a master craftsman whereas I consider my approach to be at best “slapdash”😂

@@lostinmusik Here it is : ua-cam.com/video/c1h0MPrTaT8/v-deo.html The core of the idea starts from 4 min 06 seconds... It consisted of the bells chords, the lead part and the bassline. My brother made it using the only synth we had, a Korg Poly 800, playing the bells sound together with drums coming from a Casio drum machine. It had sampling capabilities on four free pads, on which he sampled the bassline. He recorded these parts on a cassette tape, then overdubbed the lead part, playing the recording on a tape player and recording it with a second tape recorder and a mic😅 It was quite rough, yet effective!

@@lostinmusik Thanks! Actually I was referring to the original composition, which I defined "rough" in a good sense.... Maybe due to the many limitations my brother had to face, the original had something I wasn't able to catch when I remade it.....
