- Test light
- PowerProbe®
- DYVO®
If you plug something into your car's 12v outlet and it doesn't work, make sure you have the right tool to test it. This was a dash cam that didn't work.

How to clean battery corrosion
Переглядів 8193 місяці тому
In this quick video, I'll show you how to clean battery corrosion, and install a new battery. Don't bother with battery cleaners from an auto parts store. Baking soda works very well and is cheaper. Mix 1 TBSP baking powder to 1 cup tap water. Use 2 TBSP for heavy corrosion. You also don't need corrosion spray protectors. A light coating of petroleum jelly works great. Apply it to the cable end...

You bypass it. 😂
i mean you do first replace it. thats part of the diagnosis process.
I’ll just stick with my Fluke and my Lisle Circuit Test light
Just bridge it with a wire and start looking for the smoke.
We need more videos 😮
Or just use a resettable fuse
Short I'm that harness..... Aw my back hurts already.
These tools are never available in the uk
Tbh, I'll just rather use a better fuse at this point
I just get a thicc wire and fixed😏😂
what is that tool you use it ؟
Good information
Us a 18 gauge copper wire to connect the 2 sides, trust im a future electrician😎
replace the fuse with a thick copper bridge and let the short burn away with power. Or in case the short doesnt go away, you have probably enough voltage drop over the shorted spot to maintain enough voltage to keep the systems connected running. ofc this is just a joke, fuses have a legitimate purpose in most stuff
where can you get that dyvo
I wrap copper wire around it and stick it back in and hope for the best.
Hi is this available for the UK? If a cigarette lighter drains battery and sometimes blows the fuse after a period of time, would the Dyvo test this and what's the procedure please? Great product by the way! 🎉
Teşekkürler
👍
Surprised the test light lit up that bright for real
Yep, it's pretty crazy that it can still be that bright with only 10.9v.
What about Dan Sullivans tool he made about 10 years ago the load pro?? Wonder what that would of shown
@@philh9238 Great question. The Load Pro is a good addition to a meter, but doesn't stand on its own. You still have to have a separate meter. You probably know that, but we're adding that note for people who may not know. The Load Pro with a traditional meter would show 10.9v. The problem is you still wouldn't know if that voltage drop was on the power or ground side. You'd have to do 2 more tests to isolate the problem (3 tests total). If you pair Load Pro with DYVO, they work really well together. You only have to do 1 test. You can see if the problem is on the power side or ground side. You can apply a bigger load to the circuit. And you can do same side voltage drops (power to power, or ground to ground).
That's awesome! Glad I have one!!! Thanks again DYVO!
Thanks for the comment!
Cool
How to fix it spend 200 plus dollars on a piece of equipment
Awesome!!!! Thanks!
I put a piece of wire
i'm glad that my tractor doesn't have any fuses
Put there a nail, that one will not blow up
I just use a circuit breaker. They're cheap, readily available in most amperages, and all three common automotive fuse types. Just make sure you get a manual reset one, as the automatic reset is the more common one, and harder to use as a diagnosis tool.
I cant find kyles instagram can you please link it??
He updated his Instagram to his new mobile diag business. It's "voltadiag" His UA-cam channel is: www.youtube.com/@kbuelldiag2867
@@dyvoautomotive thank you!!
Awesome but expensive
Amazing ,, n i wanted to buy a regural multimeter
Lol only 500 Bucks. Listen to the old guys! (comments below)
I do that already with a p.o.s. harbor freight volt meter I got for free like 12 years ago. 😂
I want that tool
Means you own a G.M. Generally Malfunctioning
Old school version of this is use a headlight bulb instead of a fuse. Glowing bright you pulling high amps no glow and it low amps. Useful for intermittent short, or you can leave it glowing then trace the cable with a thermal camera to where it is grounding out.
Smoke test, just inject unfused power until something smokes, just kidding That is an awesome tool you have
Please can i use other multimeter to do it
Easier way is to just use a 55 watt headlight globe in place of the fuse. It will be on bright when the short is present, and will go out or flicker when you disturb/isolate the short. We auto electricians have been doing that for years.
What happens when the fuse blows again? Time to put in a piece of solid core copper wire.
normally i usually hate these kinda of ads because they're so unneeded, but out of all my redneck engineering and doing things the slow way this ain't actually a bad product, I kinda like how it looks too. not too terribly bad for a $450/$500 product and the versatility you can use with it, not just on this. like a fancy multimeter that actually uses full voltage
Alternatively, connect an incandescent test lead to battery positive, and touch the probe tip to the fuse output. If there`s a short to earth it will illuminate, and the incandescent bulb will absorb the current (Won`t work with an LED test lamp) Like the video says, find the circuit, and unplug until the test lead extinguishes.
Digging what you got. Ever think about giving a diag youtuber your meter and whatnot to play with for review. Say like ScannerDanner?
Thanks for your comment! @ScannerDanner What do ya think? 😉
Good video, actually helpful.
Thanks for your feedback!
Instead of putting another fuse in to see if it blows immediately. Use this $100 tool. Screw that
@@Dtr146 try $300 lol
You can achieve the same result with a test lead made up of a length of wire, with a standard incandescent marker lamp bulb fitted inline. Cost: About 5 bucks.
Nah, just put a bigger fuse in there lmao
And after the car catches on fire, you don't have to worry about the short anymore! 😅
@@dyvoautomotive fuse will blow before that. You're not putting a jumper in there. Just another fuse.
Think before you speak❗️@@Derrick.12
@Derrick.12 Or, the component that caused the issue catches on fire😅
@@dyvoautomotive actually manufacturers to plain things out there if you put the wrong size fuse in it shouldn’t be too bad it just won’t meet minimum disconnection time regulations
I need this aswell lol great material, bro
Thank you!
I don't know what to do with a blonde fuse.. oh
What about a brunette fuse?
I meed this
Yeah you do!
Where do I get one?
www.dyvo.us I used the Pro kit in this video. It comes with everything you need!
The same result can be achieved with an incandescent test probe or a test lead with an incandescent bulb inline...
