@13:00 - your joints are turning green in the character window but mine are not
I've done this 9 #$%@*ing times and I get orange joints and re-assign bone boxes all the time.

this isnt working for me, i tried exporting the cache and maya either wont let me an error message or bring in the clothing with no movement
do all the clothing elements need to fit in one box for the UVs. i got like a jacket shirt and pants and it seams like a lot
hello, could you help me? I am completely new and when it comes to editing keyframes, a sign appears on the timeline that says "too many frames for edit"
That will always happen. You can still work as usual, you just cannot view key ticks on the timeline if you have too many (hundreds) of keys. As soon as you zoom in on a portion of the timeline using the sliders that limit the working area, you will see them once again (and may even select and move thousands of keys)

Is there any way to have the clothes animate inside maya? we may have different animation for each sequence. and it's frustrating to repeat marvelouse process for each one
Hello, I have a problem when importing my character with Allmebic animation or with any extension. When importing it in Marvelous the scale of the head or shoes is much bigger compared to the body, and the scale of Marvelous and Maya are in cm... I don't know how to solve it... (yep, google translator c': )
Were the head and shoes seperate objects? Might want to freeze transformations before exporting the alembic

After watching this a few times, this has to be the or at least one of the best tutorials I have seen in for maya and believe me when I say I've watched at least 100-200 over the last 8 months. Bravo to you TJ.

Amazing content! I've done a ciy with mash lately, for a layout and used some of those tools. But with that placer node and the extrude along spline trick it can get awesome! Another thing that I may try, is to first put the raods and pavement first. And then use it to bake a texture for using as mask for the networks. i know it may crash, it got really heavy on a simple scene, but if deadline is a constrain, I may use it.
Instead of dragging the keys 24F in the graph editor, which can be a little finicky when dealing with a huge amount of curves, you can type in +=24 into the frame number entry field in the Stats area of the menu bar

Do you color the lights in maya or you do it in compositing
nice, helpful video. I was going nuts trying to fix the funky normals. On another video I saw someone fixing it in Cinema 4D by adjusting "Phong Angle" setting from 22.5 to 90, but couldn't replicate it in Maya. Thanks brother
