OMG!!!! I miss you!
The acting The voice Everything is amazing 😍
I love this song--two people who fall in love while they are denying their feelings for each other. It sort of reminds me of "If I Loved You." Also, the shifting meaning of the word "nice" is a brilliant touch.
Love love love It's time like these I sure could use your version of this song in my ear all day long. Thank you!
I was recommending this song to someone who's a mezzo. Searching for a good recording, I stumbled upon this one. I have no idea who you are, Ms. Lindsey Powell, but that is probably the best version I've heard of this song. Perfect blend of singing with acting, well-interpreted. Kudos.
You have such a stunning voice!
I like Flaherty's version as well. Most people sing this song way over-wrought, over-the-top. I like your care for the lyrics--a more restrained approach--good job.You found the comedy & the poignance.
great voice, excellent performance!
Annabel: All I have to say is I am happy to be sitting here, Doing what is meaningful to me Working on behalf of the Universal Dog Home Not barking up a strangers tree Now my idea of company would be A friendly face, the kind of face That melts you with a grin The kind of eyes that welcome you The minute you walk in A tender glance you simply can't refuse At times like this a girl could use A dog. He listens when you tell him things, There's nothing you can't say And unlike certain people you can teach him how to stay And if the world is giving you the blues He cheers you up by chewing up the news. It's things like that that make you choose A dog Other people need romance, dancing, playing around Other people need constant fun, well I'm not one I have my feet on the ground Give me a quiet night, a stack of books A tuna melt on rye A simple walk together Underneath the starry sky And suddenly the night is something rare And all because there's someone special there. Who's gazing at the views. His head upon your shoes. At times like this, I sure could use A Dog
Nice...(lovely job, guys) xxoo
so great! love your motivations/choices. just perfect vocally.
Great acting!
I'm performing this in a recital for my theatre company this Saturday and I never really appreciated how hard vowels are to sing until I had to learn this.
ah, back again listening to this for the 10000th time. this has been my favourite audition song for like eight years now and your version is still the best one I've seen, everything about your voice makes me so happy n__n
Annabel: I have a toast to make. It's the first one I've ever made. As long as its goodbye and knowing this is it, I have a little something to admit. It was Nice fighting you, nice hating you Nice knowing I was aggravating you. Amazing, but true. It was A+H: nice Harry: You were impossible, A: Unbearable, A+H: My nerves were almost H: un-- A: repairable. A+H: But now that it's through, It was nice A: From now on I'll have no one to ruin my day H: A view won't be a view without you in my way A+H: And no sleepless nights, No heart attacks, H: No need to bring along your battleaxe A+H: No way I would do this twice, H: but once, A: just once, A+H: it was nice From now on I'll have no one to ruin my day A view won't be a view without you in my way So nice knowing you, nice meeting you Nice knowing there'll be no repeating you And won't life be paradise, So sane and calm, and plain, and much too nice
amazing
This is so beautiful- I love it! And your face is great!
I am Annabel for my school’s production of Lucky Stiff and I love how you perform this song.
Who is she? so so talented. I've just listened to the Kat McPhee version which is equally great
Emaratilicious - Well, Katherine McPhee's version has less of a theatre feel, and this one definitely has more of a theatre feel.
It's Lindsey Powell, this is her youtube channel. :)
This is such a good song, you give such a great performance with it. Do you happen to know what key this was done in? I'm looking to buy the sheet music but sometimes the "Published/original key" listed on music sites is not always the same as whats been performed.

Wonderful! I have to learn this song for musical theatre and this is the version I listen to to help me with the facial expressions. Amazing job!

I just have to say, you are a brilliant singer! Your videos are really helping me(I plan to try out for Annabel) to learn if I'm correctly singing the songs right. So, thank you so much for doing what you do. I guess, I;m trying to say thanks for following your dreams, hopefully they will help me follow mine(:
