ITPM Ferris Bueller Phone Scene
Intro:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a humorous and fun movie that people can relate to. Their was so many scenes to choose from which demonstrate Ferris Bueller as a natural project manager which is why is I choose the movie and it is also one of my favorites. It sounds wrong that a dishonest and irresponsible person that ditches school to have the time of his life for self gratification can be a good project manager right? Well we cheer for him because he is everybody's fantasy. He gets away with everything, controls the situation, and looks good doing it. Isn't that what everybody wants in life to an extent?
Summary:
Communication, leadership of his friends, tech savvy, putting on different roles, and his ability to bring out good emotions into people like his best friend Cameron are my subjective opinions of a good project manager. Everybody has a different perspective of what people must posses to fill the job. Project managers are control and sophisticated coordination of events that unfold throughout a projects lifestyle, in this case, his day off, which is morning to night time. Bueller takes task upfront in most of his scenes through crisis management around his dad and Edward Rooney, a sort of antagonist against the main character. Honestly, I was going to choose the classy restaurant scene with the snotty host taking reservations but I decided on this because it sets things in place for his fun day off. He used communication via a phone to tell kids in his school about his illness (kidney failure) which later throughout the movie has everybody falling for it giving him bouquets of flowers and even a prostitute later. The biggest part is his planning for how things will turn out and this scene illustrates it well. The car scene and introduction of Ferris I feel was overdone clips so I decided on this clip. Thanks for your time.
Questions/Answers:
Products used to make video? Already pre-funded Sony Vegas 13 editor for splitting and making the clip of the movie I own a copy off.
Fulfill sponsor request for making IT project management related video media? Yes it relates to an example of project planning in a spinoff way. The sponsor shall use the video to help his/her business.
Obstacles or challenges along the way of execution? We had a weird way of delegation that I feel worked out by giving ourselves each a video to make and edit ourselves through movies we loved, I, Nick Beeman, created the Ferris Bueller clip. Finally the description of the execution phase was lacking detail from our sponsor to accomplish the tasks given but I feel confident we delivered the needed goods.

With Bruce Willis as your project manager and Michael Bay as the director, of COURSE it’s possible to stop an asteroid hurtling towards earth by using massive explosives and a team of deep-core drillers!

The $1,000,000 budget to track every Earth crossing asteroid is not a fictional number. That is REAL, which is really scary!

This movie is 2 movies: The opening 15 minutes or so is a tight nicely made Sci-Fi story with great pacing. Then Bruce Willis et al show up and the movies turns into sh*t, just dreadful.

NASA engineers having trouble building a drill correctly is absolute nonsense. It's a stupid part of the film. Bruce Willis doesn't have to be the ultimate badass all the time.

I read a while back that Ben Affleck asked the director "wouldn't it more logical to train astronauts to drill?" Director told him to shut up (or something). This movie is considered the worst science disaster movie.

I never really got why people are like, some random drillers become astronaughts WHAAAAA impossible!>!>!>#KI!@! Because you can take the driller team up, who know how to work the equipment AND have astronaughts to back them up, as long as they can pass the physical demands of space travel, you need their expertiese, hell they send up regular scientists all the time, sure they get more than a weeks training for the journey, but they arent professonal astronaughts. The astronaughts help them set up the drill and fly, the drillers drill and run the equipment, there just simply isnt time to train either team to full status, and radio communication can break up at anytime, hell half the drillers can stay in the shuttle lol. Its still a guilty pleasure of mine, but I dont think professonal workers in decent shape, would have to much problem in a pinch going up to space for one day to do a job if there was no other option, doubly so when nasa can send people to help them too.

Never realized Michael Bay cast himself as a rocket scientist in these scenes, which is hilarious because from everything I've ever seen by him, that man is the definition of the phrase "he's not a rocket scientist."
